Hi I just installed the same drag pipes and intake on my sporty 1200 2004 what size of jets did you use when you rejetted the carb and how many turns in the air mixture? I can’t get it right... runs too lean, backfires and loose power when I’m trying to rev the bike ty.
I honestly don’t remember the jet size I ordered it from 6sigma. I basically told them exactly what I had for a setup this bike also has the 1275 hammer performance big bore kit. I linked there web site have always had great luck with them. www.6sigmajetkit.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiMSBi_6r7wIVxvDACh3v_QcUEAAYASAAEgIdJfD_BwE
I have the same setup on my 1200. I have a 148 pilot jet and a 185 main jet. About a turn and a half on the air/ fuel, might have to adjust slightly depending on elevation/ temperature where you're located. I would recommend to start with a fresh set of spark plugs when you re-jet and make sure their gapped correctly.
Hey when u put those on did u pull your O2 sensors I just put my laf on and my sensors keep making my check engine light come on so I'm wondering if I should just pull them off and disconnect them.
Hey man no sorry this year Sportster doesn’t have O2 sensors (2001) but I know on other bikes I’ve worked on I had to have them tuned or a tuner put on them. I don’t think it will run right if you completely remove them.
The bike would probably run with out changing carb jet sizes but if you are putting an air filter and exhaust probably wouldn’t hurt to up the main jet. I use 6 sigma jet kits link below they have always been very helpful and dead on on the running/jets for my bikes. www.6sigmajetkit.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwm6KUBhC3ARIsACIwxBhNhkhYj7fy47MpbJC5qNw2e2PGhZ1GNeiVSG6Dn908wX80VRi9iEsaAtsZEALw_wcB
This bike has a carb and I did change the jets but I also put the 1275cc hammer performance kit on it so definitely had to tune it 😆But I would always recommend tuning the bike after changing to drag pipes bike will definitely run better tuned.

Drag pipes are exhaust that is on one side of bike and both pipes follow each other one ending earlier then the other. Like if you where watching a drag race from the sky and one racer was loosing the race.
If they are even at the end it's shotgun exhaust, if it kicks up it's up swept, if the tips are cut at an angle there slash cut,( like you can have slash cut drag pipes), there is two in to one, equal length headers, high pipes, even shorty, and dumps, and then the names exhaust company name there pips to be cute like calling them banshee or something silly. So yes they are not drag pipes
@@coltonwancho6571 drag pipes are normally defined as pipes with no baffles or restrictions. They are meant for the drag strip, hence the name drag pipes.
@@trenthitchcock4194 yes but in terms of style the are as I described b/c other wise high shotgun pipes for raceing would be call drag pipes. Hell all race pipes no matter the style would be drag pipes. Get what I'm putting down

Love my drag pipes. Power loss is not a problem when you hear that sound!

Those look and sound good but little shorties like that kill performance
Yes completely agree!!! Hopefully he lets me change them out for a 2-1.
Nice bike! You still have it?

How do I install the old hardware?
Put some thunder torque inserts in them! Easy to do!Get back pressure back!
Back pressure necessity is a myth on a 4t. There's a reason race vehicles don't have quarter inch exhaust exits.

@@BASgarage thanks
It sounds on indle a little 'under water'. Is this de real sound, or is it cause of the phone speaker ?
Yeah, its the phone mic.
Nice vid. I want to copy your set up (air filter + exhaust) for my 883 and keep the stock ones handy just in case
Are you close to Cincinnati Ohio, I met a guy at bike meet there with the exact same bike
No I’m actually in Colorado
hey man can i buy this bike? Or trade? I got a CBR and I really wanna get back into slow cruisers again
Maybe it’s a buddy of mine’s bike I can ask him and get you his info. I’ll let you know

Lost like 50 pounds taking stock pipes off with the stablizer bracket
How to loose all your bottom end power while sounding cool!
Put some tourqe cones in and it's all good 🙄🙄
@@edwardkramer8738 Still lose alot, but I mean the noise is so loud it probably gives the bike boost

Hey are you still active I have a question about this bike
what’s your question?
Will this exhaust kill my engine?
🤦♂️
They just kill your torque and that's all you have with a Harley!
Sorry I'm deaf and not too good on phone but how much for the pipes and what's the name of them asking for my father I wanna surprise him

Link? I dont see any.
What front controls are those?
They where cheap Amazon controls. I honestly don’t remember who made them.
