I did the mirror flip on my 2008 Sportster Nightster a couple of years ago. When I positioned the stock mirrors at their widest possible extension I had an excellent view of my knees! At that time, Harley Davidson had a matching set of mirrors with extended stalks which solved the problem very nicely and I didn't mind the cost of the mirrors. My Nightster has mid controls, which I much prefer, and the resulting leg position is probably why some of us have problems with stock flipped mirrors. Your forward controls probably give you a more unobstructed rear view with the stock flipped mirrors. You have a very good looking Sporty. Thank much for the other suggestions and I will likely do the license plate re-orientation as well as the belt guard removal.
