Ironic. The Caste system is illegal in India. The problem is legislation does not change social structure or attitudes. The unwritten, often unseen issue is that skin colour very often betrays Caste. The darker the skin, generally, the lower the Caste. We support and minister to "untouchables" through a church network in Hyderabad we part-fund. Pre-COVID we would travel to India annually with a team of 15-20 people. We can't raise enough money to make the impact we want to.
Mrs. Keith, thank you for what you're doing. My two pairs of punjammies arrived today after some delay but they were so worth the wait. I love them and I love the cause. I will definitely be getting more of them (my birthday is coming up next month, yay!). I found information about the International Princess Project on accident when I researched documentaries on sweatshops for my school. Kudos to you!
i have seen your website didn't really like what you where selling but hearing your business story make me want to buy your product. I highly suggest you should put your story on the top of your website, because I believe it will increase sales for you and your team.
This lady had me until she started talking about Mother Teresa and so called "caste system problem" in India. The pathetic condition of the people she described was not because of caste system. She is forgetting that India was under the British Raj at that time. It was the result of 1000 years of abuse, neglect and exploitation of the Indian society by foreign invasions. One incident of abuse, and our lives change for ever...it is never the same again. So just imagine what the India society must have gone through for those 1000 years. Catholic church had conveniently used the situation to their advantage in the name of "Mother Teresa".
You had me until she started talking about Mother Teresa. you can't blame her for what happened 1000 years ago as you say Also, the caste system is a problem whether started by the English (history says it was pre English but I wasn't there so???)
mother teresa received millions in donations (alot from sinner sources too) but she did not use it for the poor and suffering in India rather she gave it to the church
There is a book about her 'The Missionary Position: Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice' it explains a lot of hidden things about her life, that weren't talked about in the press because they went against her sainthood. She was just a person, that had a lot of sins on her, maybe more than most unfortunately, but press made her into a saint. I highly advise anyone to read it.
There is another book called "The Final Verdict" it told of how the Catholic Church made A LOT of money off of Mother Teresa. People thought their donations would go to the poor and it went RIGHT into the pockets of the church. Meanwhile they were reusing needles and denying the poor any painkillers.
@@Yume03 we all have things in our lives that keep us from sainthood come to think of it, all saints sans maybe mary had a lot of bad things in their lives.
You know what the sad part is? No matter how hard you decide to help such ppl inslaved ppl there is no guarantee you Will ever be able to help anyone...so for the most of the People there are just expressions of empathy maybe some financial help but sadly nothing more-prove me wrong
Why does this being an "ancient" problem make it any less of a modern problem? If the issue has been around for so long, we should be working harder to combat it....

Thanks for caring about people. We need more people that care
The Sisters of Charity was founded by Elizabeth Seaton and not Mother Teresa.
Yeah, no. Mother Theresa is certainly not a role model.
I beg to differ. She made a difference. Have you?
Can you back this up with information as to why Mother Theresa is not a role model?
