  • So I've been kicking around a few ideas on how to build the Yard Art 1928 Model A coupe and came up with a few different options. I personally wouldn't mind doing it up in any of these different ways, so in this episode I'm going to let you guy's make the decision on what type of build this old Model A gets!!     Option #1 all the way! I would love to see this old engine get back to its former glory, especially because of all the years and neglect it has survived. If that's not feasible for whatever reason, option #2 would be the next best thing I suppose. But either way, I subscribed and I'm looking forward to see what you'll make out of this beauty. Keep up the good work!

    Option 1 would be very cool! That engine is almost a century old so seeing it running again would be almost romantic

    Me being an "originalist", as you aptly put it, i'd love to see this restored to how it rolled out of the factory. But with that not being an option, i'd go with option №1.

      Paal Aaseng Stubbrud, it sounds like he's already made up his mind to bastardize this old classic. As another "Originalist" it would have been better left right where he found it than to screw it all up like it appears he is going to do. It sucks since there are so many cars out there that are nowhere near complete and restorable as this one is.

      Are you serious the car was falling apart I see it as a restoration project I would not have kept that completely original I would try to keep the look but and all that damage. PS I hope I did not misunderstand what you said.@@richardcline1337

    Option 1 is what I favor. I love to see a neglected vehicle come back to life. In my opinion it does not have to be a race car, just a great driver quality car.

    I'm all for optopn #1, retain the original engine and build it with vintage style speed equipment but leave the body stock. The flathead V-8 option is a close second choice though.

    You rock, dude. I love that you're giving us the choice. I'd love to see option 1 happen, but I'm gonna love watching the process unfold any way she goes. If you do use a different engine, I'd love to see another project incorporate the i4, maybe a kart/buggy build. I dunno. That little engine just wants to live.

    Option #1 would be the coolest thing to do I think. With only so many of these old girls to restore, making them as original as possible seems like the right thing to do....

    This car is a part of history that will never come again. Preserve as much of it as possible even if only cosmetic. Option #1

    Option #1 for me please. you see tooooo many people tearing up these old cars and turn them into something that has already been done, just different colours, you don't see too many people restoring them. Great Videos By The Way.

    I vote for option 1. I love the idea of running it just as the factory made it. I also love the idea of a 100 year old engine still running. It gives me chills that it runs so well.

    I've been watching for a follow up video for this model A. Great find! Since that powertrain is pretty much all there and the body looks workable, I hope you do an original build on this. There isn't many video series of complete A restore out there, I think it would send your channel views to outerspace.

    It was really excited to get going again, it was itching to get out of that flower garden

    Love your channel dude! Would love to see one of the V8s in it. Flathead would be my first choice I think, but judging from what I’ve seen you’re the expert and the Nailhead would look really cool. Really excited to see what you do with it, been missing this kind of content since we lost Roadkill in the UK. Do your thing man, we’re with you all the way, I think you’re onto something good here.

    It's rare & complete . I vote option 1 . But it's your car , your build . Options 2 & 3 sounded pretty sweet too . I just like the way it looks , it has so much character , as is . That she still runs , with minimal work done to it , says a lot about how well it was built . Nice find , nice save ! Love it !

    Option 3, and one combined. Id make a hotrod with the original powertrain. I know it wonr have much power but itll be cool

    I vote for option 3. Those baby Buicks are very nice. Knew a guy with a 64 Buick special? Yellow, convertible with black interior with that 300 nailhead. Please no ratrod.

    I'm going with option #1. Not because I am an originalist, but because I would love to see that thing be brought to life with the engine it originally came with. That would be a car with a great story.

    Option #1 But I'd love to see it restored to how it was fresh out of the factory which also could make it a lot more valuable but that's my opinion

    All 3 options will be cool no matter what ! The green machine in the corner by the door is the definate hot rod car I think. Considering how many projects you have to go in the shop I would keep the original baby model A original as per. And then focus on the rat rod next for the bigger power! That’s just me tho . I’m just thinking about keeping all your great ideas in order and not having an conflicting ideas that might be frustrating to you later on. The old guys would love the model A original along with the story . And the rat rod the younger generation will be impressed with that machine. These are merely ideas from my mind to yours. Hope this is helpful. Keep up the good work .

    Option #1 for sure! Why throw away that 1928 motor? You mentioned all the fun you could have with the stock car.

    I actually love the sputtering sound of the engine as it is but I love the Flathead also. I don't think there's any bad options here. I'm somewhat of a purist but so much of the original car is already gone that I think this is the perfect platform to go wild with

    Since the original engine is still in there and running and the car is reasonably complete i'd say go for option one :) good luck with the build!

    It's really a good candidate for safe drivable Survivor car, I don't think it would take that much it's not like you're going to drive it on the freeway or anything like that.... jump over the Cold War Motors and see what Scott did to his Model T which was made around the same year as your model A. now he put a lot of work in his but you don't have to put as much as he did.

    I have an original 1931 Ford Model A Tudor(since 1970) but I really enjoyed what you did(I did the same thing in the 60's).
    I voted for option 2 but You do what you want to do with the car. Its yours. A great video and I really enjoyed it especially when it smoked you out of your garage.

    Option 1 because so many of these model A’s have been chopped up and turned into hot rods and it is more fun to watch stuff on original model A’s at this point

    1 definitely. U can always find another straight body and put a v8 in it but finding an original engine that runs in a 100yrs old car is a chance that shouldnt be missed imo. I think it will also keep a lot more value

    I love the idea of old school original hotrod idea, I love the flat head hot rod idea and I'm reeeeaaaaaally partial to Buicks... But either way I'm excited to see this project progress

    I changed my mind! Go option 2! That way you get all Ford, all old school original look, and can change up at any time without too much fuss! Love those old flatheads!!

    Well all 3 options work for me I do flathead or nail head add juice brakes
    I have back ground in all 3 camps but for choice 1 you should go through it 100% mechanical if you wanna drive it

    Hi. I just subscribe to the channel. I was looking for videos and documents about restoration of a Ford Model A. My father has a 1929 Ford Model A Pickup (Red and Black) and I want to start working on restoring it here in Brazil. He also has a 1949 Ford F1 but that's another story for the future. I chose option 1, as I am interested in knowing details of the operation and restoration of this vehicle.
    I really liked the way it turned on the tank, I know it works by gravity. I saw that some fuel was leaking into the carburetor. I asked myself about the state of these rubber gaskets and where I could buy them to replace the Model A we have here.
    From what I saw and will still watch on your channel, you like to convert cars for more power and safety, I like that too, but I was selfish and chose option 1 for my learning. Sorry!

    Amazing as rough as it is starts right up IMPRESSIVE!!
    Option 1!!!! Side valve V8 idea is ok, later model V8 and T5 tranny NO bloody way!!!!
    Option 1!!!! Original running gear wheels etc side up the body a little
    and just have some fun with it, it is NOT a race car and NEVER will be!!!!
    Geez man i would Kill to get my hands on a Model A Coupe, original, and just work away fixing it up.
    At least it was Not a poxy SBC Chevy you were suggesting!!!

    N⁰1 is unique N⁰2 has been done multiple times and N⁰3 is more practical for highway driving

    I'm just catching up with you on the videos about this car and I know you already have the votes, I'm just glad it's gonna live again and I don't really care how you do it, bone stock or a tube chassis power glide blown hemi, it really makes no difference to me as long as it hits the ground running

    Use the nailhead and give it some cam! If it were mine, screw the 9-inch tho, an a-body 8 1/4 is an HD rated axle, and is well known for being low resistance🤷🏼‍♂️ I don't think it could get hurt in something that light. Highboy style is perfect for a period early gasser too😎
    There was a magazine I read years ago that had a shootout between build and they built this MONSTER nailhead that put down almost 600-some-odd HP and placed fourth out of 18 engines or so. That is an awesome mill!

    While I absolutely love option 1, I feel option 2 is a much cooler choice! But then I see option 3, and I start second guessing option 2.
    In conclusion, I think option 2 would be best! You get the world of flathead like option 1, and the world of 8 cylinders like option 3! Making a nice chopped, flathead V8 hot rod would be awesome! Along with leaving the patina on there, it'd make an excellent rat rod too. It'd be difficult to chop and maintain patina though, but however you do it, I'm going to love it! Option 1, 2 or 3!

    Since the car is already still so original, I vote for option 1. Then you'd have an O.G. hot rod that could be converted back to an original car as you said. Yeah, option 1.

    Option #1 of course, you barely fit in this thing with a tall roof, and you rarely see these things unchopped! I mean any old V8 would be cool, but I like the "Highboy" look on these cars.

    Option 1.5!
    No chop - stock everything, but any of the V8s in it would be sweet. This way the car can be converted to all stock if you or any future owner wants. But you can have your V8 fun now!

    Personally I'd like to see it restored to the way the last driver had her goin. Also, good god that garage is beautiful.
    Sidenote: Period correct rat rod would be beautiful. I think you'd have fun with that

    Just to go against the grain a little bit.. knowing most people will say full restoration or Rat Rod.. I say give it an off-road style. I think that’s be an interesting twist. But what ever you do I know you’ll do good by her so can’t wait to see.
