Message from Sydney Australia : You are the richest man on earth, I had tears in my eyes when you took your family for a spin. Get down on your knees and thank the Lord. You would make a great role model for today's teenagers who spend their years welded to their stupid mobile phones. Well done.
Im 52 years old and only seen 1 or 2 of those awesome cars. So glad you feeled a child hood dream and kids yall dont even know how lucky you are to drive a car like that. Its even more special when its your great papaws car. Ive never had great grand parents so count your lucky stars. God bless each and every one of you.
I'll say this again... The kids will remember this for the rest of their lives. Loved the video the first time around and I enjoyed watching it a 2nd time.
Thank Edsel Ford for the Model A. He contributed more to the Model A and Ford then he'll ever get credit for. I was lucky enough to drive Model As in the 1980s and 90s and owned a 1941 Ford pickup for 25 years. The A has more character than anything I've driven in my 41 years of driving. Seeing and hearing it made me smile ear to ear.
The smile on your face The fact that even squeezy drove it The dog trit trotting along The memory you had and the one you made for your kids and yourself I'd call that a win Sleeperdude!
I thought driving my dads 64 Chrysler New Yorker down the street 50 years ago was a dream, what a story these kids are going to have for their children! (Cars might be gone by then)! The expression on your children’s faces is what makes this video so special….Bravo!!
Your videos are now my favorites on RUclips. They are informative, entertaining and well thought out. But most of all, they are inspirational. This is true quality time your family spends together, the wife and kids, the pets, it's all such great fun to see.
Wonderful content. Your ear to ear grin says it all. It's so great to see your family involved. My dad has a model A and gave me and the kids rides around the yard. Memories forever.
Those old Fords are Classics. My grandmother drove one on Ocean View Ave as a job working for the DOD during world War 2. Her duty was to make sure people were using the required headlightshades or turning lights off if not so as to avoid being spotted by Nazi U-boats crusing in Chesapeake Bay spying on Norfolk beaches.
Watched and enjoyed it before...your children are a joy to see. Your videos of them with you triggers memories of mine at that age, and those are treasures beyond price. (Mine are in their 30s and 40s now.)
The way you solve all your little problems and improvise to get past things that might stop you is amazing to me. Using things you have to make the car work 💪🙏
Congrats to Sleeper Dude for his mechanical genius to be able to get this old thing running....WaWa and Ralphie did well at driving and the youngest was awesome just to have a turn in the model A....what a great experience for your children. they will be able to drive anything and may become mechanics like their dad....who knows? only God....this vlog was a blessing!
You may be a millennial but your folks guided you into knowing how to do things. Many of your generation don't know which end of a screwdriver to use. That is one thing very good about being raised in the country and not a large city were everyone lives in apartments. My grandson has a friend that moved to Texas from NYC. That guy knows how to do almost anything and is willing to work very hard.
When I was growing up in late 40’s early 50’s my Dad was a whiz with these babies. He used to make copper Babbitts for the bearings. His last car was a 48 Ford 2 Dr sedan. Loved it!!!!!
That’s awesome teaching your kids to drive. On the cracks on the exhaust manifold take a wire wheel on a drill and clean the cracks and then take a metal clothes hanger to straighten out take a torch to to melt the clothes hanger to braze the cracks on the exhaust manifold to seal them up.
I was going to make a comment about the adorable goat, but seeing this dude's smile when the engine started made me much happier. I could really feel the joy and satisfaction he got from it, it almost makes me want to get one myself
Son... where to start... I absolutely loved this video, love that you finally got to put hands on, work on, revive and drive your Grandpa's Model A Ford Sedan! I love that you involve your Family, the kiddos and Rocky... he cracks me up! I know this event made your heart smile, and meant so much! Y'all made this 'ol Ford Guy smile with tears in his eyes, and laugh some while you all took turns driving! I truly hope Ralphie continues to follow along in your steps, he seems to enjoy the sharing of Dad/Son projects! I am truly proud for you.
Out of all of your videos I’ve watched over the past months, this one put the biggest smile on my face. I could feel your nerves and felt your excitement when that old girl fired off. Such a fun video and how awesome you were able to share your childhood dream with your kids. I promise you they will always remember this moment.
More than happy to watch the video again and awesome for letting your kids drive it. As soon as my daughter was tall enough I made her learn to drive my 47 Dodge Custom with 3 on the tree fluid drive.
I'm 73 and actually remember riding in two different A's when 4 or 5. My dad had a flatbed pickup, and a model AA dump truck. "Heater" was a 3rd party/ aftermarket trumped shaped device around the exhaust manifold that scooped air from the fan and sorta blew it into the floor area. The dump truck had a mechanical LIGHTED turn signal arm you pulled out with a chain---nearly vertical for right hand, and out somewhat down for left turn. I once took a hammer to the headlights "to see the little man inside" and got spanked both times. Also for a short time we had "the end of times" for a doodlebug Dad and Gramps had built years before. I broke a rod and ran on 3 for a short time one winter (plow) and then threw a rod and broke the engine. You are one up on me, I"ve never got to drive one
My Grandpa had a 24 Ford it was build same year he was born. He used it in parades when I was a kid, I'm 35 now last time I was in it I was 10. We called it the chitty chitty bang bang car. I loved the old horn. aaahhooogaa!!!!!! Great videos man you and your family are the best
That was SO much fun to watch you bring that heirloom back to life 👍🏻 old mechanical repairs are so much fun. I love how you also get your kids behind the seat. What a wonderful dad 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yeah took me a couple days before I could watch but video worked today. That’s awesome brother. You are definitely the Ford king of RUclips in my book!
On the distributor, I drilled a hole through the large screw on the top and down into the center of the shaft and then drilled a hole at 90 degrees into the shaft itself lower down. These holes connect so that you can oil the shaft through the top screw in the future. It does work. It brought a BIG smile to my face watching you drive around the yard with your family.
It's pretty cool that you teach your kids what you know, you guys are an inspiration to me on DIY mechanic, thanks for all the vídeo! Greetings from Brazil!
Them kids really are a real natural with a clutch! The throttle lever is great for teaching the ones that aren’t and for stop signs on steep hills. If you shut off the fuel tap as you’re parking it the float bowl will be almost empty when you shut it down. I run carbs dry on anything with a fuel tap.
The look on the goats face when the Ford died said it all it was hilarious, run it back or u will miss it, u r such a good man, and a ace mechanic, and a fabulous dad and u r wife is beautyful, and has such confidence in u.🌹❤️✝️
I watched your RV series and loved it, decided to subscribe a day or two ago, and really enjoyed watching this video. It was funny to see the youngest having to stand up to try to turn. I hope I can find a car like this and try to fix it up.
Hello, I’m a new B , in September / 2022, trying to remodel my spare bed room and put tile flooring down while watching and listening to all the videos, great videos and great family,
Just love those old Model A Fords. You're a good RUclipsr since you do talk during the video which really helps the viewer know what's going on. You got some cute goats there. Serenity, we have a runner! Need to pour some barium down the yap or in the tank. Seems to have a lot of blow by. That's great, letting your daughter drive the ole Model A. I bet she loved it! That look your son had when driving is priceless. You're blessed with such wonderful children. I'm glad you took the time to let each one drive the old car. Cheers from eastern TN
The cowl lights were optional but were std equipment on the deluxe model A . Try greasing the kingpins to help with the steering. Like how you share the fun with the family.
I have a 1930 coupe . I love to play with it! Sure do enjoy your shows: You have a wonderful family. I spent 30 years in schools and raised two of our own. I know happy kids when I see them!
ALSO DONOT USE A CLOTHES HANGER FOR WELDING ANYTHING IT WILL CRACK THAT IS RECYCLED STEELALOY MADE FOR HANGING CLOTHES ONLY, BECAREFUL ON THE ADVICE THAT PEOPLE GIVE YOU DO YOUR HOME WORK THERE ARE A LOT OF SMART GUYS OUT THERE AND THERE ARE THOSES THAT THINK THEY ARE HOPE THIS HELPS
Beautiful, hope you get this car sorted out in due time! I would recommend picking up some literature on the subject, The Model A Mechanics Handbook by Les Andrews is practically a must have! Among other things the Owners Manual and Service Bulletins book are great to pick up. You should also if you don't already have them pick up the Nu-Rex timing wrench, Model A Crank/Tire Iron, and Brake Adjustment Wedge tool. The Carburetor in the car at the moment appears to be an aftermarket Tillotson carburetor, which was a popular replacement for the original cast iron Zenith carbs. Good thing too looking at the rest of the engine bay, as an original Zenith would probably have quite a bit of rust problems compared to the stamped Tillotson. The spring connected to the throttle body of the carb is actually supposed to be on the choke rod holding the sleeve over the rod to carburetor connection, I'm not sure why its been connected to the throttle in such a way. The biggest tip I can give off the start is to make sure you grease and lubricate everything, many vital components will suffer wear and tear if not properly greased and lubricated. Lubrication of the Distributor is a big one, which will prevent it from locking up like that in the future. Take good care of that car, hope it brings you as much fun as mine has!
It makes me feel happy to see the smile of joy on your face and to share with your beautiful family such a privilege. An amazing old car so good to see it running again.
What you had shown was a crack in the exhaust manifold attached to the 4 banger. Then would be working by sealing up with brass and flux rod and weld/brazed seam. There is a way to seam them together of this crack of manifold. Clean it real clean with electric angle sander spinning before start to weld. Do you use welder?
NICE old Model A, REAL nice, part of your family!! DO NOT Hot Rod Rat Rod this nice old girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doing things with the family is the bomb. Like I wrote on one of your other videos, the greatest time you will ever spend is the time you invest with your kids in something of this nature. ANYTIME no matter the project that the family is a whole unit are involved makes such a difference. You just have fun and that is what it is all about. Thank you for the share!
The sheer joy on all your faces is wonderful to see . Lovely heartwarming video . A lovely old car and what a survivor . You made the car happy too . Good luck with it . It will make a super car . Regards from Thomas in UK
I am 82 years old and my dad would use cork and make his own gaskets and use Hog Lars he rendered for grease. I remember he used to use Coal Oil and a bit of Alcohol for fuel a lot of the time. He made his own Alcohol from garbage. We were old Missouri back woods country farmers. We lived north of St. Joseph in the Missouri River bluff valleys.
I enjoy watching these videos .My Grandfather in Law(if that is a thing) had a shop across the street from MGM and he used to maintain very expensive cars that belonged to movie stars . He was very proud of his work and kept a scrapbook that he showed me .I have to go to the Peterson and pay money to see these cars nowadays and your children can have access to their Grandparent`s memories for free without a red rope around them. Here is a little trivia for you there are some religions that think it is very important to keep people alive though good memories, Your Children`s Grandkids will have an amassing Video and that is a very good thing to have.
It's great to see young Americans driving a stick shift car... Especially if that car belonged to their great-grandfather! Congratulations to this beautiful family - and keep the Model A running!
Absolutely love this channel because you include the whole family and the animals I really love that old car it's great that you got it back on the road again
Your kids will forever remember they drove their great grandads 1928 Model A Ford! A memory I hope they cherish forever. You were right Josh, there would not be many (if any) 13 year old's and indeed whatever age Ralphie and Squeezy is also. I am looking forward o watching the next video tomorrow night as I play catch-up. on the Model A.
Back in the sixties , I was 10 , we lived in Florida and at that time you could get a beach buggie license and also drive secondary roads , Life was GOOD Back then !
Great to see your whole family involved as you wanted them to be. I just wish I had a wife and kids to help enjoy my Model A. But I grew up with an old man who was not helpful or encouraging in any way when I wanted a Model A. If it hadn't been for my mother, it never would have happened. But it did and I've had the car since I was 16 years old.
@@Sleeperdude By the way, there is a special handle you can get for removing and replacing those 6 volt batteries. It's a hard rubber material with metal buckles, one on each end, which hook over your battery posts. Then you can just pull it up or lower the battery by the handle. Just don't make the mistake (as I did once) of reversing the buckles on the posts. Those holes in the buckles are different sizes since the battery posts are also different sizes.
The tallest child looked like she would have rather been anywhere other than the back seat of that car but when she drove it that was pure gold she looked like she was having a blast
The first video I had no problems to see... do I want to see it again... yes I do... like these cars you have memories from... see your happy face when you are driving it for the first time 👍
Great inspiration to do some work on my 24 Buick Tourer. It sat in my Dads garage for years and I've had it in mine for about 7 years. It is complete with a spare engine and box. Thank you. Hope you are all doing well. Jeff from OZ
So lucky, and the kids taking a turn, that last little girl was really into it, the car is in great shape, fix that chikn wire roof. Love the 65 Galaxy out there, I'll bet its a 390 cu in.
My dad had a 31 deluxe coupe with the cowl lights, interior light, and a clock in the rear view mirror. It had a trunk when he bought it in 1964, but he turned the hinges around and made a rumble seat. He also put in highway gears. He was a fantastic mechanic, and I saw that thing do 75 mph, no joke, that thing flew. He had it tuned so we'll, he would retard the spark all the way and it would sound like tickey tickey, tickey tickey, real slow like. That 60 lb. flywheel just carrying it. They fired different,1243, not 1342. My dad's gone now, and I miss him and the way he could drive that thing. You had to double clutch them and he never ground a gear, even when down shifting. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.
Yes there was a problem with the color. Extreme lighting. The picture was very light. But I still enjoyed watching and seeing the kids drive. I knew you could repair that old Ford. What's the saying "If I can fit it, It ain't broke". lol Take care and be safe.
Thanks for the video. here's an option for turning the engine over (never use fan blade). Put the car in 3rd, and gently.rock the car back and forth. Another way is hand crank tool.
I always use a Tide soap box for gasket material. Works better than a store bought one . The wife face said it all ! You have some of the Best Fords ever made those Galaxies are real Fords !
We have had to re-upload this video due to problems on RUclipss end with the first upload please let me know if you have any problems with this video in the comments
Awesome! I tried watching it before until the ol' eyes started burning. Great job!
А че видео перезалил?
Much better now. Thanks! :)
I didn’t have any problems with the first one.
No problem with the first video, looking forward for the next 👍

Ok thank you
Ford would be smiling down to know you're caring for one of his cars
That’s awesome thank you
Thank Edsel Ford for the Model A. He contributed more to the Model A and Ford then he'll ever get credit for. @@juliedy1574 he also was involved in the Ford Trip Motor airplanes planes and of course the Edsel car
Old Fords were simple to maintain; new ones are impossible. Do not break the timing belt of an F-150.
more like looking up
I love that you made the old beauty run, and Especially sharing it with your family! They will remember it forever.
Thank you
The smile on your face
The fact that even squeezy drove it
The dog trit trotting along
The memory you had and the one you made for your kids and yourself
I'd call that a win Sleeperdude!

Your kids had a blast driving that old Model A! Thank you for involving your whole family. What fun way to drive around the property.
Yes they did thank you for watching
Great content! Props to you for also involving your kids, brilliant way to pass on your passion for vintage automobiles. You just earned another sub.
Thank you so much really appreciate it

Then would be working by sealing up with brass and flux rod and weld/brazed seam. There is a way to seam them together of this crack of manifold. Clean it real clean with electric angle sander spinning before start to weld. Do you use welder?
Yes that is what he plans on doing
I taught 2 of my sisters to drive on 31 Model A Coupes with Rumble seats. Great fun!

Thanks for watching
WHAT!.....you never let your wife drive it? .....Shame on you!
She drove it in the next video
The sheer joy on all your faces is wonderful to see . Lovely heartwarming video . A lovely old car and what a survivor . You made the car happy too . Good luck with it . It will make a super car . Regards from Thomas in UK
Thank you so much
I am 82 years old and my dad would use cork and make his own gaskets and use Hog Lars he rendered for grease. I remember he used to use Coal Oil and a bit of Alcohol for fuel a lot of the time. He made his own Alcohol from garbage. We were old Missouri back woods country farmers. We lived north of St. Joseph in the Missouri River bluff valleys.
That’s a great story thank you for sharing
I enjoy watching these videos .My Grandfather in Law(if that is a thing) had a shop across the street from MGM and he used to maintain very expensive cars that belonged to movie stars . He was very proud of his work and kept a scrapbook that he showed me .I have to go to the Peterson and pay money to see these cars nowadays and your children can have access to their Grandparent`s memories for free without a red rope around them. Here is a little trivia for you there are some religions that think it is very important to keep people alive though good memories, Your Children`s Grandkids will have an amassing Video and that is a very good thing to have.
Thank you so much.
It's great to see young Americans driving a stick shift car... Especially if that car belonged to their great-grandfather! Congratulations to this beautiful family - and keep the Model A running!
That’s right thank you

Yes it is
Your kids will forever remember they drove their great grandads 1928 Model A Ford! A memory I hope they cherish forever. You were right Josh, there would not be many (if any) 13 year old's and indeed whatever age Ralphie and Squeezy is also. I am looking forward o watching the next video tomorrow night as I play catch-up. on the Model A.
Thank you I hope they do
Back in the sixties , I was 10 , we lived in Florida and at that time you could get a beach buggie license and also drive secondary roads , Life was GOOD Back then !
The good old days
Great to see your whole family involved as you wanted them to be. I just wish I had a wife and kids to help enjoy my Model A. But I grew up with an old man who was not helpful or encouraging in any way when I wanted a Model A. If it hadn't been for my mother, it never would have happened. But it did and I've had the car since I was 16 years old.
Thank you I am blessed
@@Sleeperdude By the way, there is a special handle you can get for removing and replacing those 6 volt batteries. It's a hard rubber material with metal buckles, one on each end, which hook over your battery posts. Then you can just pull it up or lower the battery by the handle. Just don't make the mistake (as I did once) of reversing the buckles on the posts. Those holes in the buckles are different sizes since the battery posts are also different sizes.
The tallest child looked like she would have rather been anywhere other than the back seat of that car but when she drove it that was pure gold she looked like she was having a blast
Your right!!
Super cool you let your kids drive it!!! Good Job Dad!!!
Thank you they had fun
The first video I had no problems to see... do I want to see it again... yes I do... like these cars you have memories from... see your happy face when you are driving it for the first time 👍
Thank you I appreciate that
Great inspiration to do some work on my 24 Buick Tourer. It sat in my Dads garage for years and I've had it in mine for about 7 years. It is complete with a spare engine and box. Thank you. Hope you are all doing well. Jeff from OZ
Thank you . That’s right buddy get to work gotTa get that thing driving👍
OK thank you for letting me know I’m glad you liked it
Thanks for the video.
here's an option for turning the engine over (never use fan blade). Put the car in 3rd, and gently.rock the car back and forth. Another way is hand crank tool.
Ok thanks
Not only are you excellent at fixing cars and engines but you are an excellent dad cool stuff, love your channel.
Thank you really appreciate it
I just tell it like i see it i am a straight shooter !
I always use a Tide soap box for gasket material. Works better than a store bought one . The wife face said it all ! You have some of the Best Fords ever made those Galaxies are real Fords !
Ok thank you
a wonderful piece of of rolling running automotive history the kids will remember this day from now on
I agree thank you
