I have used both of the spitfire 3x gen1 and gen2, I feel like the gen2 eye relief was much worse, but the big points that made me stay with gen1 was the reticle on the gen1 feels better to me. I can't complain, the gen1 is a great optic.
@@JUDGERAMBO Yeah I wasn't a fan of the gen 2, the horseshoe reticle it's very feint compared to the gen 1's reticle. I was shooting them both at 100-300 yards with a green field in the back, it was difficult to focus in on the gen 2.
Definitely curious how this stacks up against the Primary Arms GLx 2x Prisms. Similar size/weight but the PA has shake awake in addition to auto shutoff. I have a PA GLx 2x on my 7.62x39 AK, looking for something for my new 5.56 AK. Torn between the Vortex and the 5.56 version of the PA GLx. Big question is how does the glass compare?
I was hoping to hear you talk more on the reticle, how easy it is to see, and is it practical in shooting. And more on the lens say size, clarity, eye relief (how long actually?). So I'm a little disappointed. I have the Primary Arms 3x prism scope, which is also quite big and heavy.
There is no point it’s magnified by 3x. It has an etched reticle. So if your battery dies it’s solid. That’s one of the whole points of a prism, if you mounted BUIS they would be blurry and non exist due to the cowitness you have to put this all the way back next to the charging handle. This is literally advertised on the Vortex website just do some light reading.
The eye relief is terrible and the reticle super small and the bdc marks even smaller it’s also not daylight bright. I’m unhappy with my purchase and gonna go Eotech with that new mini magnifier
woah woah woah woah woah, hold up, i counted more than 5 shots per magazine there my canadian friend ;P all in all though, fantastic review, thanks man! appreciate all the work that goes into your videos! Got myself a Ruger 9mm PCC thanks to you! :D
Get an auto off model. I’m going on 1 1/2 years with my weekly shooter micro slide rider, (it’s on a Model 41, so it doesn’t actually reciprocate and the recoil is Standard Velocity CCI .22LR so it’s not like I’ve given it a beating).
On the scope caps, you put them together then put them over the battery door.
I know this is old but, I just got one for $400 new gen2 3x an man I love it!
How’s it holding up
@@dynaryda8857 meh seems ok for the price.
Made in china tho.
I’m about to get a 308 semi this weekend see how it holds up.
I think the new micro prism 3x (SLX) from primary arms is even more compact. Would be interesting to see a head to head.
Can you put this on Unity Fast Mount ?? So is it the same platform as a T2 ?

I have a gen 1 and surprised to hear the gen 2 is worse than the gen 1.

I'll be getting a gen 2 PA SLx 1X prism soon.
I have the vortex gen 1 spitfire 3x. Haven't tried the new one. But being a left handed shooter the controls need to be ambi.

I talked about that more in the Gen1 video, forgot to include much in this one. The reticle is the same, check out that video.
Hello what do you think about this on a ruger pc9
I'm torn on lpvo red dot or a 3x prism
Any help would greatly be appreciated
Thank you
Go with the micro-prism. No reason to have a big optic on a pcc.
Question. Is there a mount for this optic that still allows you to see your iron sights? I was thinking about mounting this on a Browning bl22.

I wonder if would be any good on a Lever Gun? ............ Great Video, some good info on this Scope. Stay Safe and Be Happy
At the 125 yards and in I typically deer hunt at, I bet this thing would be great with the low mount installed.
Will the low mount mount low enough for AK?
Vortex, the power of Canadian gun rights!!! 😁

Pistol mags used in a rifle. Our laws are dumb
@@Huntinggearguy oh im well aware! I'm from Southern manitoba!
@@Huntinggearguy I guess Canada and California have something in common! Stupid gun laws :)
Where did u pay 550 for it at? They’re 330 here
Canada pesos aren't worth as much as Merica bucks
1 canadian dollars is like 12 cents of the real dollar lmao
never seen anyone use half a Crossmag before!
fuck man i have such good headphones i guess that at around 4:12 i thought someone was talking outside my door.
The only Vortex I bought killed batteries! No more!

Good revue, not something I would invest in, at this point in time.
