@@roosterrancher3558 Even if they do get paid, if Tom did not have the right attitude, he would have to pay them more to let him in, assuming they let him in at all. I look forward to this show every week! I completely agree with Tom's comment about the legitimacy with driving an old car... One day while out cruising in my 67 Mustang, I came across a broken down 65/6 Mustang in an intersection, and when I stopped to ask if they were ok, I was immediately credible and not a threat. It felt awesome!
This video really takes me back. 1961 Robins A.F.B., Ga and I'm 14 years old. A friend who is 16, just got his license and gets to drive his Dad's 1957 Oldsmobile, 2 door, white, white interior tons of chrome on the dash, a stiletto gear shift. He tells us the S on the shift pattern meant Super, who knew back then it was second gear. We drive out SAC road ( anyone from Robins during the early sixties know SAC road) a long stretch of blacktop straight out through the swamp to the B-52 base. He stops repeatedly and burns the tires, I remember distinctly the swooshing sound from the exhaust, like a jet engine. I don't remember how fast we drove, but fast!! The fifties and sixties had such great cars, I cherish the times riding in them and owning quite a few. Great video. Tom is a class act, gracious and friendly. I'm not surprised he is welcomed on the property. So sad about Amy's father.
That is a Mercedes W186. Very rare vehicle!! Only ~7500 sedans were built during the 6-7 year production. Please get this car on the road. Beautiful car.

If you've never dealt with Alzheimer's, it's one of the most vicious conditions one could ever endure, especially for the family. It's great that the friends and family are coming together to take care of his estate.
This is epic Tom!!! So glad when I saw the "to be continued" at the end because this is one of those videos that could be several hours long for several episodes.I'd love to have that Oldsmobile, it makes me think of my Dad.I don't think Amy Jo & her family realize how much value they have in all that stuff. There's thousands of dollars just in the signs in that 1 garage. And what about that VW bus you showed near the end??? Even in that condition it's very valuable. The more windows, the more it's worth. Restored that bus would bring over $100,000I can't wait to see more.

Wonderful stuff. Mechanical history of America. I have so much respect for this stuff. Its going, one rust flake at a time......hard to get the young to invest in the old cars because the cost of owning one and restoring them are far beyond most. I;ve had my fair share over the years. I hope this site has rescued some.
But most are just not restore-able after being out in the elements for decades. Forget about the body rot, the frames are gone, making the car worthless for a full restore.
@@TEverettReynolds That's why you get rid of them instead of hoarding them. Better to sell it for a cheap price and enjoy the money rather than having it junked for pennies when you are gone.

Wow this show is something else.its amazing the lifetimes work and collecting of some people.usually they never benefit personally from it but its a joy to behold
Thank you Amy for sharing...😃 I'm a German car fanatic too. That split window VW van got me out of my seat....☺ I just retired and that's been a dream vehicle.
I don't know if you knew this or not but Michigan is an open carry state, you must be careful up here. Love the show and I watch all of your video's, thank you for being a fellow true auto lover.
A Super 88 w/tri-power older than I am? That would indeed be the score of a lifetime - that would more than make up for my missing out on a '76 Olds 98 w/the 455 in it 30-some years ago. And I thought that car was fast - that 88 would probably give it all it could handle. That is another "Champagne dreams, but beer money" car for me. I feel for the family - I hope they can get the best price possible for as many cars as they can.
Love seeing the cars, the family also should be excited to sell all the tools, parts and all the old advertising etc. Looks like work but well worth it.
With 4K viewers already I can hear all the 100's of car collectors going nuts over the vast amount of rare parts unattainable to them or extremely expensive but they see right there in your video. I am still always amazed at how people can collect such a vast amount of automobiles. Great video and would love a Olds 88 update soon.
I bet Antiques Roadshow would love to take a peek inside that shed. There were some cool oil signs and other collectibles that are probably worth a pretty penny. These older collections of cars are hard to find and getting fewer and fewer. Thanks for doing the hard work to get a look at this place, quite amazing!!
There are great finds everywhere. My neighbor on the left of us just had a 61 Vette pulled out of his shed that has been in there for at least 25 years. My neighbor on the right has a 65 Mustang that has been under a tarp for 10 years, just sinking into the gravel. Neither of them will part withem.
Would have liked to get a better look at that lamp shade in the front seat of the Olds, depending who and when it was made, could be worth big bucks. I read other comment suggesting she take her time , not get in a hurry. I agree wholeheartedly.
My wife's family almost gave an old lamp of her grandad's to a charity shop after he passed. No one wanted it and they thought it looked old fashioned and a bit tacky. I'm glad I was there to change their mind and take it off their hands as it was made from the hood ornament of a Pierce-Arrow.
I love the 57 371 Tri Power Oldsmobiles and 347 Tri Power Pontiacs. I'd take one of them over any other car from 1957 but a Supercharged 312 Ford Custom or a 392 Hemi powered Chrysler 300

Hey Tom actually bought a real flashlight!!! Loved the longer episode. Good stuff.
These old guys hoard this stuff and their kids scrap it when their gone. Im glad this family had the sense to save some of the neat restorable cars.
Awesome! Please let us know when you clean that Olds up. That's what interests me. Thumb up.
I love old cars ! This broke my heart in so many ways. These days I play with mostly VW s .
Seen a few in this video and you probably don't want to know what I was saying while watching. Hope your staying healthy.
Keep up the good work.
That 57 Olds 😍🤤😍🤤😍 Dream car!!! J2 Tri-Power vert!
Mr David, Hello. I started watching this videos yesterday. Love the show. Lots of info here for car collectors and mechanics. I love the way you treat people with so much respect. I love the way you get exited when you find a nice car. Now if you go to any South American country you will die of excitement I guarantee you. Thanks for these informative videos. Keep making them.
I cant add much more to this great video because most of the previous comments already did, thumbs up !
That Tri-power Oldsmobile is beyond beautiful
Guys that Super 88 is pretty darn cool!
Awesome find. Love old cars. When you find places like this one and explore you cant help but wonder what the history is on the vehicles. The imagination just runs wild.
That Olds was beautiful! I hope some of those nice cars find good homes and are put back on the road again. Great find!
You can hear classic car owners needing those parts shouting at the screen.
Tom:"Alas, all those cars are gonna be scrapped."
Collectors:"Nyyyyaaaaggghh!!!"
I am one of them!
i have a right front fender including the inner, no rust, for a 57 Olds
@@iseewhatyoudid8799 get ahold of 'em! find out where the cars had gone to
Touching. Thanks to everyone for sharing
Wow this show is something else.its amazing the lifetimes work and collecting of some people.usually they never benefit personally from it but its a joy to behold
My knees are shaking for that Olds !!!!
Love the show, look forward to the next episode... Tom Cotter is one very cool guy...
Really enjoyed the video. Tom has a great personality for this show and very knowledgeable. So happy to have the content to look at. Thanks
Wow judging by the taillights that mercedes isn't a ponton but a very rare mercedes-benz W186 'adenauer' just incredible...
Love seeing the cars, the family also should be excited to sell all the tools, parts and all the old advertising etc. Looks like work but well worth it.
Omg 😱😱😱😱 what a place to find, fingers crossed these classics are saved
I would say this has been my favorite episode to date!!!!!!! Blows my mind. Thank you and looking forward to the pt. 2 Matt C.
One of the most exciting episodes yet! Love how you find these gems.
That cream Ford Woody wagon is one of my dream vehicles!
LOVE!!! 👍💟👍💟👍💟👍
Very kool to see so many neat cars. I like watching your 39 Woody go down the road too Tom.
That Tri-Power is awesome
Always super interesting to watch wish I could tag along! Amazing how much automotive history is hidden out there.
Simply, amazing. Thank you so much for bringing videos like this to us.
Woow!! This episode is incredible ... I will share it to all people I know.
Just Wooooooooooow!!!!!
I love the 57 371 Tri Power Oldsmobiles and 347 Tri Power Pontiacs. I'd take one of them over any other car from 1957 but a Supercharged 312 Ford Custom or a 392 Hemi powered Chrysler 300
Oh to be continued, how fun! The '53 Mercedes ponton will be worth some money, if there's anything left. I had a '59 190, was my first car.
