As I watch your and Jenn’s videos, I think of what a wonderful treasure your daughter will have some day. I only have about a 30 second video clip of my father who passed in 2010. Your daughter will have hours and hours and hours of video.
That same exact thought crossed my mind too. When he picked that kid’s bike with training wheels…fast forward 4-5 years. Time flies and kids grow up fast.
My Brother... I have to give you thanks for your inspiration. I have so many jobs that have been put aside over the years... and honestly, the list has become overwhelming. Watching your videos, I am looking at them with a fresh set of eyes... and getting things done! Yesterday, I rebuilt my massive HVAC unit. Today I am going to rebuild the front end of my vintage VW... and after that, I'm going to get my scooter running! Thanks again and keep up the good work! (Now,, if I could only back up a trailer as well as you do).
Hi Chris, great video as usual. That whitewall that separated was something that you added to a black wall to make it a whitewall. I remember adding them to tires many years ago. Whitewalls were the rage for a long time. It was a cheap upgrade. I love watching your videos as you bring life back to so many neglected vehicles. John from Cape Cod
Chris, just wanted to thank you for making videos. My wife generally doesn’t care for most RUclipsrs I watch but she’s become a hardcore NNKH fan, she even bought each of us a hat. We love road trips and exploring so your videos are perfect for us. She really likes updates from Jen and on Autumn and of course Gus!
Hey, awesome to hear that you and your wife enjoy the channel. Thank you very much for ordering hats as well! Greatly appreciate the support. We love doing the road trips and can't wait to get doing more of that in the future again soon!
A lot of people make you tube will it run videos. But NNKH videos have that je ne sais quoi. This can be due to the creators personality or technical knowledge, the subject matter, even the cinematic quality. NNKH videos have all of those. A bonus is the beautiful growing family we see. Really enjoy these videos, keep them coming !
I feel I have to 'Reply' on a completely off topic thought, and that is to say, I Like your Handle, @Opticaldelusion. There were not 1,007 before you, tell me that number is relating to, IDK, maybe your birth month October and year 2008. The problem with that is I can't imagine too many 16 year olds that are familiar with the phrase, 'je ne sais quoi'
I've reduced the amount of channel I'm subscribed to... But NNKH is like mental therapy for me. The work you put in to salvage these cars, is motivation for me to never give up
Yeah, I need to do that too, as I must be subscribed to 50 or more channels now, albeit not all cars, but I love the one's with the 'Will it run' in the title! It then becomes a challenge, and Chris does all he can to get them to fire once again!
Regarding the peeling off white wall; back when I was a kid, my brothers and I would eagerly await the new Warsharski's (sp) catalog (later became JC Whitney). Had every accessory imaginable, from under the bumper amber colored fog lights to snake oil engine additives. I ordered a set of add-on 3" whitewalls for my 55 Dodge - break the bead, put the edge of it in there, along with ample tire sealant on the back, and Presto! you had a rich man's car with fancy whitewall tires. Of course, they were always peeling away and never looked great, but for a kid with his first car, they were great!
Oh my God. This is unbelievable. I have been checking into the channel for the last 36 hours hoping something would pop up and I was even looking 30 minutes ago and nothing. Now I check again and I get to have my Sunday morning ☕️ with a huge dose of NNKH!!! Best day since yesterday!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I am so glad that I found your channel about 4 weeks ago. That way everything is new, to me anyway… The knowledge and "backyard trickery" is phenomenal and better than most "taught" techniques. Keep up the great content!!!

The icing on the cake is when Jen and Gus make an appearance and of course Turbo. Looking forward to meet your beautiful daughter also! Keep up the great work Chris! 💪🏼👍🏼
Those are the very old Nylon Ply tires , the separated white wall is not really part of the tire. Back then you could actually put the white wall part on separate. It was an added piece that got put on in the bead area, when the tire seated against the rim it would hold the white wall add on in place. Yup , it was a funky idea for sure !!
LOL Richard, you said what I was going to say. And the only reason I would know about the whitewalls being sold as a add-on is because I’m 73. I also bought regular gas for mowing yards for 17 cents a gallon!
@@berrystrim LOL , yes! I am 67 and have actually installed some of them. They can be difficult to keep centered, as the bead pops up it can off center them!
This just about put a tear in my eye. I've had a 53 since 2019, a 2 door hardtop with the three piece rear glass, in basically the same shape. Life has gone steadily downhill since then, and the poor old girl has just sat, waiting on the stars to align so I can get her going again. Hearing that flat 6 run really makes me wish I could've gotten mine going. It's also really nice to see the full maintenance paper ont he glovebox door, mine was almost totally rotted away.
Sometimes I feel like you give the big friday show a chance to get views because he kind of helps you a lot but the funny thing is I still want to watch your releases first. Even if it isn't friday. You never really complain about the job, and when you do, we don't feel horrible after hearing it. Glad and happy to be on this ride with ya.

Good story on the old Mopar my dad had one similar in65/ 67black red trim 👌. Once the Mopar story was over I’m gone 😢. Mopar old school for life 👌🇦🇺✌️.
396 BABY!!! Lorenzo is a master machinist. He reminds me of a shop owner I used back in the 80’s. He told me back then that remand engines were going to kill a lot of shops.
This is an excellent video. A Master Class in determination and deployment of some real automotive skills. I must confess I let out a cheer when the elegant lady fired up. All the best to you from a new fan here in the UK!
Those whitewalls were an aftermarket item back when whitewalls were a popular option. They were more expensive, so you could buy those add ons and transfer them to you plain blackwalls to make them look good.
When I was teen, I got some from Z.C. Whitney and put them on my 1940 Plymouth, as the blackwalls that were on it were still good, but looked too plain for my taste.
My Dad had a Plymouth Savoy when I was 16 and this episode brought back great memories of my time with him. When you aired up those old tires I thought of the Rising of the Phoenix coming back to life. It was interesting hearing about your 396 engine restoration and about restoring the trunk bottom panels. that blue 396 Chevelle was so sweet to look at and hear running. So glad you love history of heavy medal - this was a great episode.
My parents owned a '53 Plymouth which we bought in 1962 . We drove it all the way back to Kentucky from Seattle , Wa ,. We got many miles out of it which wasnt bad for a $375 car ! It was easy to work on and being a standard shift , was economical to run . The dependable car !
This video showcased endless talent. Chris's skills of course are always impressive. The engine guy...wow what a pro. The the Chevelle guy...so passionate and knowledgable.
Can not wait to see you and yours driving and riding in that restired SS. My dad had a 69 with a 396 in it. I live at the bottom of Illinois, and he used to take it to Benton, Missouri, and drag race it. Great times.
Thanks for the video first thing.and second I hope your's and Jenn baby girl is doing very well.and I agree 💯 about keeping it the original as much as possible.i really believe that everyone has really lost their minds wanting to go ls who cares I believe you can make a original 396 or whatever 60's and 70's motors even better than a ls . people always ruining the vehicle from the old days going to ls instead keeping it as it was meant to be.i am a old school guy that enjoys rebuilding older motors and trying my best to keep all of my old school vehicles old school.
12:19 I split a sidewall while rock crawling in my jeep. About a 4” split and filled with plugs. Hit it with a blowtorch after. Ran it for 2 more years without an issue.
The body on this Plymouth was manufactured by Briggs Manufacturing who also made bodies for Packard - Chrysler bought Briggs with a loan from Prudential Insurance when Mr. Briggs died in either 1953 or 54 . Briggs had to sell in order to pay the inheritance taxes on the Briggs estate - this is one of the factors that took Packard down since Packard had to start making their own bodies once Chrysler took over.
Great video! I really appreciate the link for that machinist. He know what he's doing and I love the knowledge from a guy that knows his trade. I will definitely follow this guy .
Thank you for not relying on stupid 'catch phrases' and cutesy witticisms that are used over and over and over again like some channels. I won't mention names but the worst rhymes with 'Mice Flip Barrage'. I really enjoy how you don't rely on a schtick or have to pretend you're a comedian, you've found a great niche and your natural personality is compelling by itself. The bike trips through Philly are great! Keep up the good work!😉
funny thing is that is how a guy talks irl so it's not a catch phrase..don't be so arrogant ..why try to trash talk other channels when you can just keep your opinions to yourself, honestly i like only a handful of automotive channels b/c as a mechanic myself i can see what is true and what is for show..treat others how you want to be treated
Greetings from Sydney NSW: Roscoe, your comment is spot on! I know many blokes who refuse to click on VGG for that very reason. And thanks for your 'mice' clue. Cheers, mate.
Thanks for fixing these and sending them on to better homes. So many other "will it run" guys just pull a car from one tree line and get it running and then stick it in their tree line to continue rotting. Best wishes to the family.
Thanks Chris great video really enjoyed to see that old Plymouth fire up... Some years ago my step brother and I would find old cars I'd get them running he'd sell them I'll never forget the time a real old lady with a car in the garage story happen to be a pristine 1969 tempest the woman thought we were crazy that we offered her a whole $600 she took it we brought it home 30 minutes I it running..
Wow, I would have liked to known that Plymouth was a flip.. I had a '54 Savoy 2Dr in High School. I painted the engine white...lol.. Yep, JC Whitney and I got to know each other quit well. Thanks for the show. Find a 2 Dr '53 an let me know.
Loved it and love the way you show us everything - good and bad! I also did a bunch of flatheads and learned to love them.❤ Too bad about the double handshake fail with MiK-Hai-ALE!!😂😂
26:10 I found that Brasso is an excellent choice for that polishing. If you know some old army guys, they are sure to have a bottle in their shop somewhere!
It’s funny how you say that people think New Jersey they think New York or northern New Jersey but I grew up in manayunk, and in my mind, I imagined all of New Jersey as farmland… with the best tomatoes in the world… anyway great show as always! Congratulations on the baby, I’m glad the old car got to see the light today again and hopefully will be restored and running and super happy that you’re taking care of the Chevelle… they are my favorite car, used to have a 67, but being a dumbass I sold it… and now I’ll never be able to afford another… See you next week!
Great job getting that old flathead straight-6 running again. 👍 I hope the guy that bought the old car will restore it, and not just scrap it for parts. 25:40 I think the carb are made of a Zinc Alu alloy, which was used quite a lot back in the days. it's strong and cheaper than pure aluminium.
I am 51 and have probably installed 100+ of those plugs for myself, family, neighbors, friends, ect. I have yet to have a single one not last as long as the tire itself.
I've been watching you for a while now, great 'short films' love it, I am amazed, I have a lot of 'stuff' and I do know where most of it is in my garages, when I want it, but you must be very neat and tidy when you go for a lead or a pipe its in the lead or pipe drawer! I spent a lot of my time making things tidy but am still in a mess, very methodical and a retired A/C engineer, but you are in a different league fantastic! Englishman from France!
Every time I go to pull my trailer out, there will not be any traffic all day, the minute i open the gate it's rush hour on a Friday! Every single time! Lol!
How neat would it be to restore that old bike and make it ridable again! A present for Autumn. I have one I renewed from the 60's. A Raleigh. Just need a new chain, tires, lube the races or get new bearings. Basically already the stuff you know!!
I really love your channel and you and Jen seem like truly AWESOME people... And congratulations on becoming new parents ❤❤🎉... As far as the white wall separating from the tire, those aren't true whitewalls. They made a paste on/glue on version for about 60 years now... I absolutely LOVE your channel. Thanks for giving us gear heads something to watch ✌🏿👍🏿💪🏿💯
Chris , only watched a few of your videos up to yet , and we are hooked , already i would say you are at the top of the "will it run" guys , your knowledge is far and beyond anything I've watched to date , such a humble & polite person , love the channel , keep em coming !! 👍
Hi from New Zealand! I've watched the odd vid that has popped up in my feed, but something about this one grabbed me and I've now subscribed. I like your delivery - no nonsense, as you say! That old Dodge was one out the box, mate. So much potential and just a few small areas of concern. It also goes to prove the old adage that you cannot beat an old flathead! Loosen it up, roll it over a few times, hook up fuel, get some spark going and she's away and purring like the intervening time was nothing. That big old 396 looked absolutely corker - and Lorenzo''s right when he says you can make 'em give 400HP and a ton of torque to tear up any tarmac at a goose of the throttle. More than enough for a big old cruiser, more in keeping with the era and a MUCH better sound out the tail pipes! Easier to diagnose if something ever goes wrong too....no computers to interfere with anything and lead you up the wrong path to where there's a metaphorical clearing but no house... Man, I love how the repro panels are so easily available for a lot of the American iron, albeit that you need to get them off the right blokes else they don't fit without some serious massaging, but at least you HAVE access to them in any form! Try finding replacement panels for a similarly aged British vehicle or Eurobox....and even when you CAN find them, they are only for the most common models and a King's ransom to purchase. That blue Chevelle is EXACTLY the daily driver I'd love to own. Right colour, right interior, right sound out the rear and it answers to the GO pedal on command. Can't beat that. Pity I didn't see the channel when you pulled the IROC out the weeds, though - I'm a big fan of the 3rd Gen (although I still lament the missed opportunity I had to purchase a 69 SS convertible in LeMans blue, running a tickled up 396 and 4-speed with the gauge pack, buckets and full console, Rallye wheels, decal pack in white (including the bonnet / boot decals), electric roof (also in white) and in near perfect condition for a very reasonable price then....but would seem like stealing it now....but the Financial Controller (aka my wife) put the kybosh on it (something to do with kids and a mortgage that she was concerned about - I don't know....). I still take a perverse pleasure at rubbing her nose in the fact that the vehicle would have at least quadrupled in value since purchasing it, while the car I WAS allowed to buy depreciated to a third of the purchase price in less than 5 years.....and that I would still have (and be happy with) the Camaro! Anyway, great vid, awesome to see another one saved (well, two actually) and I'll catch ya in the next one! All the best
Congratulations to you and Jen! I have a 6 year old, who has not been easy since day 1, and while most days it leaves me frustrated, emotionally worn out, and occasionally at wits end, it's still the best thing that has ever happened to me, hands down.
Love the Plymouth, that was my first car when I was a kid! LOL! That 'separated' white wall is what we used to call 'Falsies'. If you couldn't afford white wall tires, all the 'reputable' auto accessory outlets (J.C. Whitney, etc.) had these rubber rings that you could install to snazz up your ride! They threw the balance off, and would flap in the breeze if not installed right. But it added 1.5 hp, and kicked the re-sale value by $5.... Hadn't seen those in years! Thanks!

I have been rooting for this Chevelle since you picked it up! Look forward to seeing it on the road!
Once you get it moving with wretched I've used impact and keep adding oil to cylinder. Also helped get oil pressure up
You've gotta love the sound of the old engines
Jack has a sweet ride, TKS for sharing 😊. A shout out to the little human a the wife. Great content 😁.
This video showcased endless talent. Chris's skills of course are always impressive. The engine guy...wow what a pro. The the Chevelle guy...so passionate and knowledgable.
I love that you're rebuilding the existing engine. Gotta keep those old girls on the road.
Mikhail seems like a solid dude. Love his 'handshake' style!😅 Bet he has seen some things in his lifetime and has some great stories.
it's dirty hands handshake

I split a sidewall while rock crawling in my jeep. About a 4” split and filled with plugs. Hit it with a blowtorch after. Ran it for 2 more years without an issue.
It never fails to amaze me how many parts you have available to help you repair things.
That Malibu is a classic! It is one of the sportiest cars of that era!
Keep up the good work!😉
With you on that Roscoe
funny thing is that is how a guy talks irl so it's not a catch phrase..don't be so arrogant ..why try to trash talk other channels when you can just keep your opinions to yourself, honestly i like only a handful of automotive channels b/c as a mechanic myself i can see what is true and what is for show..treat others how you want to be treated
Amen. This channel is the real deal unlike some others that rhyme with rice trip
@@alanarcher5903Well I’ll be dipped we have a hater in the house. Funny how that guy has almost 2 million subs 🤔
Man them old engines, you just can't kill them!...
Another fantastic video, heaps of effort over the 3 cars from that house. Great job mate
Hey chris I live in Juliustown that’s pretty cool
Loved it and love the way you show us everything - good and bad! I also did a bunch of flatheads and learned to love them.❤ Too bad about the double handshake fail with MiK-Hai-ALE!!😂😂
I enjoy your enthusiasm especially.
Thank you.
Johan NEPA
26:10 I found that Brasso is an excellent choice for that polishing. If you know some old army guys, they are sure to have a bottle in their shop somewhere!
Great video mate thanks again to everyone who helped you mate
Chris your videos are so good I feel like I've just eaten a big Sunday dinner! Good to see old Gus man!
Allways clicking so fast on new NNKH videos :)
I hope the guy that bought the old car will restore it, and not just scrap it for parts.
25:40 I think the carb are made of a Zinc Alu alloy, which was used quite a lot back in the days. it's strong and cheaper than pure aluminium.
The roll is everything in a good cheesesteak, those looked so good! Exciting projects, love it! Hi Gus!
I am 51 and have probably installed 100+ of those plugs for myself, family, neighbors, friends, ect. I have yet to have a single one not last as long as the tire itself.
Enjoyed the picture show 😊
Watching Chris pulling out the oil and thiught., “Sure hope that oil was under the car before the tires deflated, and not in the trunk.”
Lol!
Love your channel more and more. Keep on keeping on!
How neat would it be to restore that old bike and make it ridable again! A present for Autumn. I have one I renewed from the 60's. A Raleigh. Just need a new chain, tires, lube the races or get new bearings. Basically already the stuff you know!!
It looks like a Lil chic. I restored a fairlady years back.
New subscriber for a month now and I done watched every vid u uploaded from 3 years till present. Love the content
Лайк за Михаила. Привет из России!
God Bless 🇷🇺

🇷🇺 From Russia with love 😊
I really love your channel and you and Jen seem like truly AWESOME people... And congratulations on becoming new parents ❤❤🎉...
As far as the white wall separating from the tire, those aren't true whitewalls. They made a paste on/glue on version for about 60 years now... I absolutely LOVE your channel. Thanks for giving us gear heads something to watch ✌🏿👍🏿💪🏿💯
Nice to see Turbo kitty doing well.
That is a cool looking rescue cat.
He was in “mouser mode” immediately
Yea, that was a really cool vidio, amazed you got that old 52 running
Soon as I saw that bicycle I knew you were going to grab that for baby.
Nice find!
Chris , only watched a few of your videos up to yet , and we are hooked , already i would say you are at the top of the "will it run" guys , your knowledge is far and beyond anything I've watched to date , such a humble & polite person , love the channel , keep em coming !! 👍
Grab a coffee. Chris is back. Did you find Jimmy Hoffa?
You know my man is kicking himself about that coil. I know I would be
Definitely upset about it. It was a nice coil. I trashed it.
I’m from Michigan and I think New Jersey is very nice 👍
7:14 that is a whitewall ring accessory
Came here to say this
Porta wall I have 3 sets
Congratulations to you and Jen! I have a 6 year old, who has not been easy since day 1, and while most days it leaves me frustrated, emotionally worn out, and occasionally at wits end, it's still the best thing that has ever happened to me, hands down.
The car must have passed it's cat scan.
Thanks!
