Finally a college that actually gives young people a true, passionate and useful diploma!! Very impressive young men and women attending and graduating McPherson! There is hope for our future! Thanks for a great episode! Cheers to all who love classic mechanical art!

I admire the young woman w/a penchant for old steel & a appreciation for rat rods. I know Cadillac 472s can basically turn back time because of their torque, but it's still got a job pulling that Ram Truck gear.
Lateef Carrere that was one of the many reasons I went with the big Caddy engine - I could’ve bought a small block Chevy from a friend for $100, but it just wouldn’t be as much fun as something with 500 lb-ft from the factory 😉 I’ve got a 3.54:1 gear in the back, so it won’t be particularly fast, but it should definitely be absurdly quick lol

I was at a car show a couple weeks ago that my cousin's garage sponsored and there was a ton of young people there checking everything out, it was great to see. There were cars there from the 20s to the 2000s but the fact that they consider Late 80s to mid 90s mustangs and vettes classic cars made me feel old.

In the summer of '83, I was working for a custom combiner on the wheat harvest. As we rolled south to Oklahoma and Texas, where the wheat would be ready earlier, we stopped in McPherson to do some work on our combine. There was a Massey Ferguson dealer where my boss, Rod, had worked when he was in college there. We worked there for about a week before moving south and starting to combine. On the way north we came back through, I found a '56 Ford F-100 for sale. I bought it and returned for it when the summer's work was over. I hopped in that thing and drove it from McPherson, Kansas to Climax, Michigan non-stop. It had a 272 Y-block and with the 2 speed rear end, got 14 miles to the gallon on the trip home. Great memories!
Never heard of McPherson in detail ..... but its over. I love the University and I support it %100!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a Veteran of the Middle East and this is a dream...

Too many cool aspects about this video to mention. I love all the cool projects the kids have going, it’s so cool that this college program exists, and Tom is a fantastic host and his car knowledge is amazing.
Great series getting that wagon going and then giving it to McPherson College. What a great program they have there actually teaching a vocation that these kids can use to earn a living the rest of their life. Used to live in Salina and was fortunate to be president of the Mercedes Benz Club when Mercedes decided to get involved with the College. The first scholarship graduate was Nate Lander I believe and think he still works for MBNA in California at the Classic car center. Thanks for supporting a great facility dedicated to keeping the art of restoration going!
The red Falcon station wagon story is awesome, good luck, I hope he can finish the project and take his grandma for a ride! I liked all of the students projects, great job guys!
I so love this show! Thanks Tom, and Haggerty, for producing this fabulous series. This episode and the two earlier segments where the car was found in the salvage yard in Texas, and the subsequent episode where the car was refurbished, pretty much capture the essence and the excitement of the love for old cars, and the passion for restoring them. This is what it's all about! I was thrilled when I saw the second segment, where Tom returned to Texas to retrieve the car, and the owner of the salvage yard made his garage available for the restoration. And tonight, when I saw that the presentation at the College was to be made, I knew that I was in for an awesome ride. I had never heard of the Automotive program at McPherson, so I was really excited to learn of it, and to see several of their students working together, to restore this car. I really love to see that there are still at least a few folks out there who appreciate the histories and legacies of these old cars; who have sufficient passion to invest the time and money to rescue and rehabilitate them. I wish that there were more Automotive courses comparable to McPherson's, available in other regions. For most of my life, I've dreamed of doing this kind of work, but up to this point in my life, now in my early 50's, it hasn't been in the cards for me to do it. But I'm determined to get about it sometime soon! Thanks again for all that you do to produce this wonderful series. It's among the very best content on RUclips, and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Can't understand just leaving these vehicles outside for 30 yrs. when they seem to have emotions attached to 'em. ps this guy Tom has the right temperament for this kind of show. Very straightforward.
My father and both his brothers owned '62 Galaxies......one brother (my uncle) was a priest who drove a beautiful black (in/out) Galaxie 500. I went with him to pick up the brand new Galaxie in Port Arthur, Tx. When we left dealer, he commented the engine wasn't powerful enough, turned car around, returned to dealer to find out if it had '390 cu in' he had ordered......they made mistake & had ordered the '292 cu in. He went ahead and accepted smaller engine (sure they adjusted price though). The contrast of chrome instrument panel with black padded dash was dramatic. So the '62 Country Sedan brought back lots of memories. Thnx
I taught Automotive in College here in the UK for 20 years so this episode was a special one for me. This channel and the episodes are fantastic. ps this guy Tom has the right temperament for this kind of show.
Very straightforward.
Finally bosozoku cars getting more recognition
my uncle joe was on a bazoka team in ww2 fired anti tank rounds, but hey the kid is just starting lol
Thnx
Bravo! Wish I was college age again, I know exactly where I'd go.
Best show Ive ever seen.
This is the best video series on RUclips !!!
...and it all started with you buffing out that fender.
Watching you drive around in that 62 I can almost smell the old car interior. Good times!
I taught Automotive in College here in the UK for 20 years so this episode was a special one for me. This channel and the episodes are fantastic. Great idea to donate to the College and always great to see enthusiasm with the students. Well done. Tom did I see a Ford Sierra? Lots of British cars on the show but I do prefer the American iron !
Never knew all these things were going on in my own back yard.
You also beat me to the whole “welcome to Kansas” thing lol
Who knew there was so much love for British iron in the center of the US.
Nice wall decor, Jake!
I may be your next barn find left a message at Hagerty about 3 classic mustangs hidden away in a dry garage/shed and enclosed trailer in N/E Illinois. They are going to be for sale but you get first look at them please contact before the scavengers get to them car collector passed away. Ron. of R.R.E.
10:25 Tom looking, what the hell this kid is doing :D
Absolutely love it Tom! Great job, great show! Awesome!
That 62 wagon is still the coolest thing I saw the whole presentation.
When I graduated 10 years ago, I almost went to McPherson college. But things didn't get to work out the way I thought they would so i never went. Plus, its halfway across the country. I really love that college.
Glad you left some work for the students to work on like the hood!!😁. Been driving me nuts.😎👍🇺🇸
This is one of the best Barn Find Hunters.
How can someone put a thumbs down on this. Crazy. Great video.
One of your best Tom!
😎🇩🇪🚙
JUST AWESOME ! Your videos are my favorites on youtube . Really need to make an Alabama road trip .
There's a new car generation right there. Great to see.
That Crosley panel rat rod dually needs a copper radiator.
derrin pickett that’s tempting, but I do still have the stainless trim that runs down the body line, and the polished aluminum radiator kind of matches that. It will be getting some kind of grille eventually lol just haven’t figured out what I want to do yet
