I had the exact same car in High School. I could pile 10 friends in back and go to town. I hit a deer, backed into a guy at the bowling alley, got side swiped, and it was so rusted out the popcorn I was selling for FFA was growing on the floor of the back seat....most funest car ever. This video almost made me cry.

The major weak spot in the front end design of the darts and valiants is the idler arm bushes. Back in my early days of selling car parts I would sell a bushing kit almost every day. All the Valiants I owned had to have the bushes replaced. There used to be a bearing kit to replace the rubber bushes which was a much longer lasting repair.

    "Ralphie power" 🤣
Those old 6 banger Chrysler engines were bulletproof. I had one literally! Had a '66 Dart rag top. We were camping and while trying to get back to civilization drove onto some Deliverance type of Hillbilly's property. He came out shotgun blazing. Drove with the accelerator pinned in reverse. One bullet hit the manifold, luckily it didn't penetrate nor crack the structure. Drove that engine for another 200,000 miles 😬

I’ve said it before but Ralphie will treasure these moments wen he’s older. Love the baby goats. One thing you could show Ralphie is to use a flat tyre iron under the hoop to raise it to the right level when he’s putting it on instead of trying to dead lift it ?

I was taught that just rubbing grease all over the outside of new bearings isnt enough. I put a scoop of grease in one hand and then put my point finger through the new bearing and do a scraping method that packs grease into the bearing each time you scrape a little more into the outer groove until it comes out the back of it. Works great !

Except for certain Heavy Duty optional 11 inch drums, these cars all had self adjusting brakes. That doesn't mean someone didn't chuck the self adjusters in the past like happened in some of these in the video.
If you drive the cars too gentle in reverse, the self adjusters may not cinch up. Did you father in law drive super slow?

Yes in Australia that bodyshape was ap5 and ap6 valiant and valiant regal. The ap5 had the push button auto and the ap6 had column shifted auto. Just a bit of useless info for y`all!

Also, here in Australia they stopped using the slant 6 in 1969 in favour of the locally produced hemi 6. Like the u.s. v8s they had a hemispherical combustion chamber and the top dog was the 265 with triple 2 barrel carter carbs, the 6 pack e49 r/t charger engine with 302 hp. The v8s available in Australian built chryslers were the 273, 318, 340 and 360 small blocks.

I have that same Harbor Freight engine hoists so far I have used it twice. Neither time to pick up and engine picked up two world war 2 Transmitters and loaded them in a truck. I remember when I was 8 or 9 years old I was helping my Dad bleed the brakes on our 1950 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 and I'm 71 yrs old now. Some things never change. Looks like Rocky has been busy with all of those babies running around. Thanks for a great video.

Absolutely love that Dodge. It amazes me how well it ran after being parked so long. I have a question are you going to take this dodge to the next level and maybe restore it? It's really worth it that's a sharp looking little wagon.

Hi everyone, man this wagon beats the heck out of the radio flyer Lol!! This is going to be a real rubber neck'n head turner and grin git'r!! . I would've been right at home restoring the brakes. Make sure they are all adjusted & and the car doesn't pull too hard left or right, 'cause on wet roads you will be in trouble if you have to stop fast. Have fun learning and it's great to see the boy figuring all this automotive stuff out. He's going to be a great asset to you and man, there's just way too many kids sitting inside playing video games. That goes for boys and girls! I applaud you for the wisdom of get real, get outside in real sunlight. Safety First, and always.

Another brilliant production folks, Tosh was funny losing her Red Hot Candy, nice of Josh to retrieve them for her. Loved the ending with Wah Wah's thanks for watching and the "stardust" graphics listing the other channels. The AP5 then AP6 (Australian Production) were the local versions. The young goats were great too. Looking forward to next time.
