Thank you for an excellent review of the ford cougar. Very helpful for me because I am looking to buy one here in England. They are still a reasonably priced car here, not too common but they are out there.
I’m looking to buy a V6 engined one for sub £5000 in fair condition, I have had mondeos in the past and the parts are relatively low priced.

I own a Ford Cougar 2.0l. Its so much fun to drive it even if it has already waxy over 200,000km on the odo, the Engine is still very healthy and no problems.

my brother had one of the last yrs of mercury cougars with the which had better headlights fake hood vent and spoiler. He seen it at the auto show the year it was first show and wanted one. Sad part it was slow with the bigger power option and my first car was a cutlass ciera station wagon and i beat him in a race and it was lile woah that thing is slow. Cool looks but never shouldve put the couger name on it. The one sports car lol my bro had to buy a Ninja zx6R just to have something fun.. my thought is of you are buying sporty you shouldnt need a bike as well

I'm just short of the 150k mark on this car. So far, I've had only two major repairs plus regular maintenance. The cougar handles like a dream since I baby the hell out of it and don't drive it like a rere.
