It was much easier when carburetors were around.
1 : 2 camshaft and crankshaft ratio was done with 2 gears that meshed together or it might have a short chain rotating them in sequence.
I grew up stacking all kinds of small & big block engines.
Don't even remember how many I've built.
      ( Gas was 0.75 a gallon back then )
I remember when toilet bowl injection came out and hated it then. Today it's even worse with multi port fuel injection.
More parts = more opportunities to break down.
Offshore we use inboard 2 stroke diesels , 12 cylinders, 71 cubic inches each. ( Detroit Diesel 12/71's & 16/92's ) They don't even have camshafts or timing chain/belts.
Many are both supercharged and turbo combined.

So in short, the more problems one has with their vehicle, the more they know about it, the more they know than anyone else who has a newer vehicle, because some newer ones are less likely to have a problem, and they'll know what's wrong, obviously, doesn't mean to say they can fix it themselves though, that's obviously when a trained engineer comes into it.

I had so many AHA moments, finally I saw how the engine works from start to finish.
Like antifreeze, yes they put it in the car but that was it for me, now I know its pretty important for cooling!! Etc etc, thank you so much 😊

please don't ever stop making these. i'm literally learning how to fix my own car after being tired of being ripped off by shady mechanics for so long, and this is one of the most helpful videos i've come across in understanding how everything comes together. thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

How does hydropower operate, how does its electromechanical components & hydromechanical components work, and how the power generated from the power plant is stepped up in the substation and transmitted from the transmission lines to the load center. Explaining this mechanism in such a manner (through animation)would be a miracle to many esp. engineering students.

I've work at Honda as engineer now and have previously been at Boeing and BWXT. Love to connect. Just sent you a Linkedin request.
I think you should make another series entirely for automotive or another video going in detail on specific components, like how the catalytic converter works with exhaust flow and cleaning, different turbo chargers and recycled exhaust, braking for hybrid charging, and how the starter actually stars the engine cycle.

I love to see more videos with the subjects like :
      2 stroke engine ,
Ignition in engine without spark plugs ,
Diesel engine which is commonly used in cargo ships , oil tanker ships and so on ...
