I was going to say basically the same comment! Plus really cool animations and background music. I always considered engines a complex mess of pipes, now things are starting to connect together.
It was much easier when carburetors were around. 1 : 2 camshaft and crankshaft ratio was done with 2 gears that meshed together or it might have a short chain rotating them in sequence. I grew up stacking all kinds of small & big block engines. Don't even remember how many I've built. ( Gas was 0.75 a gallon back then ) I remember when toilet bowl injection came out and hated it then. Today it's even worse with multi port fuel injection. More parts = more opportunities to break down. Offshore we use inboard 2 stroke diesels , 12 cylinders, 71 cubic inches each. ( Detroit Diesel 12/71's & 16/92's ) They don't even have camshafts or timing chain/belts. Many are both supercharged and turbo combined.

It took many decades and failed attempts. People didn't even think cars were worth anything back then, then slowly over time they became what they are today.
Probably one of the worse ever inventions ever for humans. think of the amount of dead lives from accidents (compared to othe formes of transpoort) Add to that the space these monsters take town and cities. Then you have the noise pollution thermal engines create and finally most importantly of all, its signifciant contribution towards global warming. The truth is there were alternatives to transport, but thanks to powerful automotive lobbies (and more importantly oil companies that wanted a market) cleaner alternatives lost out
@@TMGVideoDiaries Completely agree, but you cannot deny how useful they are to humans, less hassle than any other transport. But you could say we focussed development on cars instead of other transport so it could be different today🤷♂️A hell of a lot of fun too

I don't usually comment but I really have to this time. Out of all the videos out there trying to shed light on something that's probably in most people's minds dark, not one that I watched covered this so well. Thank you and keep up the good work.

A couple hundred hours in Blender (my 3D software) alone. The research and script writing is a good 40-60 hours before modeling even begins. It's not the complexity of the model only, but also making sure it's accurate and works how it should. You can fudge things with 2D drawings, but in 3D it has to be the right shape or things won't make contact when they should, etc. It's a real functioning machine, basically.

Very well done as usual. Seth tommilia?
I was dead ass playing Call of Duty and looked up how a car engine works lmao
Sounds like that should be part of your homework 😂
Dude this is the best explanation ever, everything is explained separately, it’s explained simply but not so simple it feels like I’m a toddler, and your going at the perfect pace for me to soak in the knowledge. Here’s some chez for you amazing explanation 🧀
It’s just so crazy how someone invented this. Like how was it possible to invent things like this in order for a car to run. This is amazing
It took many decades and failed attempts. People didn't even think cars were worth anything back then, then slowly over time they became what they are today.
his name was Karl Benz
The entire industrial revolution led to the cars we know today. It wasn't just a single invention

Когда всё так наглядно - очень круто и понятно.
@@monkeyrobotsinc.9875 it’s not the students fault I’ve seen plenty of bad teachers in my time. Some never grasp the concept of explaining something to someone in a clear way not explaining something so that they understand. Very small detail that makes a great or terrible teacher.
Same. My automotive teacher Way of “teaching” is putting all of the information onto a hundred paragraphs per topic for me to cram, and then makes me take a quiz afterwards. How am I supposed to remember that?
It’s truly amazing how collective knowledge of humans lead to this technology. We are so lucky to live in a time where we are this advanced compared to the thousands of years before us. Great video production btw
what are you talking about? Don't be naive and do not compare times. Technology has also contributed to the killing of millions of people, nuclear bombs, or the extermination of Jews by trying on their bodies new technological experiments. Stop idolizing technology.
@@frederickwalzer5555 you must be insane. People in the past used to die by the millions for much dumber reasons than technology. There’s always a reason of death. Have you been to the hospital? Don’t you see that thanks to advanced medical technologies healing diseases have never been easier? It literally saves lives everyday. People literally live much longer now than they used to in the past. Thanks to technology and science you are able to travel to the other side of the planet within hours. Sure it has its disadvantages but the advantages are far more

I fucking love how everyone is just mocking that one girl's comment for no reason lmao
What kind of car are you?
I don't usually comment but I really have to this time. Out of all the videos out there trying to shed light on something that's probably in most people's minds dark, not one that I watched covered this so well. This knowledge is complicated and takes exhausting effort to grasp in a text book without proper illustration. And not only did you illustrate but also approached this in a way I feel I can open the hood and understand the big picture of what's going on, and all that by sitting back, chilling. Wow. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I don't know you, Jake O'Neal, but I love you. I've been trying to actually UNDERSTAND how an engine works for quite a while now and it's been until I came across this video that I can definitively say I get it. I can tell this has been the most educating, simpler and shortest video I've ever found. Just FANTASTIC. Kudos to the makers. X100000000 thumbs up.

Anyone of your videos is hundreds time more useful than textbooks and classes combined!Really want to know more about you and the ways I could possibly support you to create more contents like these, you are such a generous and intelligent person
The animation level is insane. How long does it take to make a video like this one?
A couple hundred hours in Blender (my 3D software) alone. The research and script writing is a good 40-60 hours before modeling even begins. It's not the complexity of the model only, but also making sure it's accurate and works how it should. You can fudge things with 2D drawings, but in 3D it has to be the right shape or things won't make contact when they should, etc. It's a real functioning machine, basically.

This video is awesome, I love how you make it easy to understand and see how everything works together.
This is the kind of visualization of complex subjects that I was longing for in my school years. Thank you. Simple, elegant and learner-centered.
Very well done as usual. One little detail might be the catalytic converter doesn't exactly capture toxic chemicals but convert them into more inert ones using a platinum screen that alters the unburned hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide and water and nitrogen as if they had burned. It isn't a filter and nothing stays in it. Great job, love these videos!
I was just thinking that as I was watching!

They will sub to anyone who has asked them to.
@@pixels_buh And how different are pewdiepie fans? They aren't really that mature too, a mature person doesn't say things like 'small pp' and 'floor gang'.
