    I got my Fast Intentions resonated test pipes (i also have the Fast Intentions catback with 18inch resonators) put on a little over a year ago. I’ve had the Megan test pipes on my car for 2+ years now. The first 6 months were great but after that the flex pipe seem to go and the whole exhaust rattles as if the hangers are about to fall off. I even bought defoulers and still got CEL . I’ve just been running them with the harsh exhaust vibrations since. I recommend the Z1 just for that bracket mount. It’d help a lot with the vibrations

      @tcblackg35 Год назад

      @@SpeedCultureStudios of course a tune is best to tailor to your mods but all the bung extenders do is have the o2 sensors read less exhaust gas to avoid tripping the code that is only there for emissions, ie a bad catalytic converter. If you’re not getting tuned or don’t plan to for a while you wouldn’t want a CEL on all the time and it’s a perfectly acceptable fix for it.

    • @SpeedCultureStudios
      @SpeedCultureStudios  Год назад

      @@tcblackg35 You’re missing the point-or actually proved my point for me. It’s only “perfectly acceptable” because you’re not getting the CEL. The point is that it’s not acceptable, because although you may (not guaranteed) avoid a CEL-it’s only because the O2 sensors aren’t getting a proper reading while your car is not actually running optimally.

    • @tcblackg35
      @tcblackg35 Год назад +1

      @@SpeedCultureStudios I see what you’re saying but I’ll caveat that by saying that the downstream sensor is only there to read exhaust post cat for emissions, as long as it doesn’t detect readings outside of tolerances it won’t send a CEL but even if it does to my understanding it won’t adjust fuel trim or anything that’s only the upstream A/F sensor which is unaffected by test pipes… I do agree that a tune after test pipes is best to maximize gains from them

    • @SpeedCultureStudios
      @SpeedCultureStudios  Год назад

    • @SpeedCultureStudios
      @SpeedCultureStudios  3 года назад +1

      The belugas are actually decent for the price. Most people do not keep the factory catback system with test pipes because they upgrade that too, which is why test pipes are raspy. Most aftermarket systems only have a couple small resonators, which are not strong/large enough to handle the rasp.

    Buggin! You can beat the o2 without a tune eith the defoulers. I been through it already with many different combonations and know what works and why it works.
    Either get the j bend and face it upstream or double stack 2 defoulers with one with the small hole on the test pipe side. You can use a pipe screen stuffed in there to disturb the turbulance so the full band doesnt read the same as the reference sensor which should read differently due to cats. Thats how it gets tricked!

    Check eng light is nothing, TPS, TCS, and airbag are already showing. check eng is just another dummy light. In my state, I can have whatever I want for exhaust. They do not inspect here. But it is a federal crime to remove compliance from the ECU. So no shop will take that risk without a waiver saying you won't street drive it. My GT500 had it done and I had to accept full responsibility for it. I kept some new high flow's in the trunk in case I was asked. My 370Z will have lights it doesn't bug me at all. some black vinyl can solve that fine.

    Subbed for the great content! I'm getting AAM HFCs installed on my NISMO; already have resonated short-tails to match, but I've also been thinking about ART pipes, which seem like the standard for anything without a cat. That said, I wanted to know how noticeable/bad is the smell with any test pipe, resonated or not? I want the gains and the growl (HFCs should be fine for the time being), but I worry that it might attract the popo here in Vancouver. They... do not like modified cars here.
