Hi Herb, I saw your previous videos and just saw this one and subscribed to your channel to follow you and your wife adventures to restore this property. I'm French loving USA and I'm curious and interested in watching this. Maybe someday I'll travel again through USA and get the chance to visit you (why not help you as I'll get retired next year, so free to travel) . I'm surprised to see these 2 planes are from 1946/1947, I mean just 2 years after WWII, they look so modern such these I saw in my childhood in the 60's. Not comfortable with the Bonanza losing its wings !! Not comfortable also with the scorpions !! I wish you a great succesfull in you and your wife project. PS : I'm also a Jeeper, own a TJ and a WK. Herve.
Scorpions have a serious bite. They make bees and wasps feel like an itch in comparison. Get scorpion antivenom for the pain and chickens or guinea fowls to keep the crawlies away.
Chickens will just become feed for the coyotes. Can't just let them free range, and chickens in a coop is like fishing in a bathtub, they can't run away. Donkeys will scare the coyotes I hear.
Looking forward to an awesome number of video's you'll be posting. Regarding that faucet you came across, might want to look into a freeze proof Yard Faucet to replace it and any others you have outside like that.
Looking at your boneyard... you can have a Murder of Crows or an Unkindness or Ravens. Ravens are a little bigger than crows, size about the same as small hawks, where the average crow is about the same size as a pigeon. I hope to see you fix up that plane, it's a beauty. Really enjoying the videos of you your poop eating dog and your hot daughter, keep them coming!
Oil will help but it really doesn't do much good. The big Rubber seal that goes around the door often swells up and then becomes crunchy! If you don't really care about how weather tight it is, you're better off cutting it away. Mine originally had double dog doors. I took the one off the main door and both off the other side too.
Congrats! That is awesome that you can live in a place like that. A lot of work, but a lot of rewards. I wish I was still flying, I would love to fly down for a $100 hamburger. Enjoy, a lot of wonderful memories are you coming your way.

I wasn't sure if that was a perk, or if you became storage for the previous owners? And the road grader seems like a bonus as well, if it in fact runs. You have your hands full, and hopefully your bride continues to have a positive outlook on the adventure as well! It can be challenging, even under the best of circumstances. Herve.
Love your tour…btw …your lady is a total trooper! Definitely a rare one and a definite keeper :)
Looking forward to all of the projects and adventures
Ok , isee a new name for this ranch, the scorpion compound ranch, lol that’s crazy, thanks BigAl California.
Each morning check your shoes before putting them on for scorpions. Had them in the desert in my boots.. Not fun feeling it move under your foot.
You can replace the magnesium skins on the ruddervators with aluminum. I did it to my 1947 V tail and flew it for three years before selling it.
16:42 Those are indeed horse shoes for those gigantic drainage horses. Much bigger than even the Clydesdale.
Looking forward to seeing you make progress on your vision
Looking at your boneyard... you can have a Murder of Crows or an Unkindness or Ravens. Ravens are a little bigger than crows, size about the same as small hawks, where the average crow is about the same size as a pigeon. I hope to see you fix up that plane, it's a beauty. Really enjoying the videos of you your poop eating dog and your hot daughter, keep them coming!
Definately Ravens, big suckers.
I believe I misused that!
Some of the biggest Ravens I ever saw were at the Grand Canyon...not far away as the Crow/Raven flies!
I worked in a graveyard for a time in New York City, Some of the Ravens had a wingspan over 6 feet, there is no confusing a crow with a raven!
Imagine a Cat with wings
Excited for you guyz....looking forward to seeing the transformation
Oil will help but it really doesn't do much good.
The big Rubber seal that goes around the door often swells up and then becomes crunchy!
If you don't really care about how weather tight it is, you're better off cutting it away.
Mine originally had double dog doors.
I took the one off the main door and both off the other side too.
I had to giggle at the wife's shipping container 'nest' for when she's in time out! 😂😂😂
Congrats! That is awesome that you can live in a place like that. A lot of work, but a lot of rewards. I wish I was still flying, I would love to fly down for a $100 hamburger. Enjoy, a lot of wonderful memories are you coming your way.
you will have to spray it 3 or 4 more times to get them all out of the house.
Wow would it be wonderful to get the grader working again!!
I'm subscribed, I can't wait to see what you two do with the place. So much work to be done, I wouldn't know where to start!
I'd get gyrocopter build kit. Wow, phoenix and bac in 2-3 hours.. No license required.
2:01 and yours has the under tail wing wasp nest extra lift package. Score!
😎 Look like a picture of Bob's big boy on your solar charger. Fancy! 😁👍
Time for some scorpion soup ..... thanks for the grand opening of the containers. Is it true that the small scorpions are the most dangerous? Glad I live in Wa. State west side. No snakes or scorpions.
I hope the grader will run. Those look like Bullet holes in the windows.
The bullet holes might be evidence of someone's reaction to the grader not running.
@@chrisroyle4813 lol true
I have a property out in the high desert area. I just learned that I should have my well in some sort of shed. Just thought I share that with you guys, to protect it. make it last 10 years longer.
Nordyn Norseman also has the flip over yolk
Herb is a smart guy but I still want to suggest marinating all the road graders control levers and linkages with PB blaster. Same for shipping containers.
Looks like a Detroit 371 (3cylinder 71cc/cylinder) two stroke diesel in that grader. Get it rebuilt now if you can, they stopped making parts for it.
You can cut the top off the container and get a pool liner and guess what you have a 40 ft x 10 ft deep swimming pool FYI
Herb you are a lucky guy, your wife is a babe. Good luck with your new home/air ranch.
I gravitated to your channel as soon as I found out where your homestead is located. I know where your place is, as I have looked at property just like a mile or two from your. But.....my wife was like, "it's in the middle of nowhere!!" So, of COURSE she was super excited at the prospect! It's still not entirely off the table. Well, maybe like 98% off the table. (She'll cave!) 😂
I'm anxious to see what you do with the place. Lots of potential, no question. So are the planes just yours by way of buying the property? I wasn't sure if that was a perk, or if you became storage for the previous owners? And the road grader seems like a bonus as well, if it in fact runs. You have your hands full, and hopefully your bride continues to have a positive outlook on the adventure as well! It can be challenging, even under the best of circumstances. I wish you both the very best, and I'm excited to follow along!
A group of crows is called a murder. A group of ravens is called a conspiracy or an unkindness. Trivia lol. Looks like you have your work cut out for you....have fun with the projects!
With Purpe ultra Violet light the scorpions at night shine green and are easy to see I take a purple UV flashlight to grandparents house and find them easy. Try it
Looking forward to watching your channel.
Those container cover kits sure came with a lot of extra zip ties & bolts.😅
That’s a beautiful property. Many years of living off the grid 😅 should be a forever project
Cool . A lot of projects. Get going
Hey guys, just a heads up with the amount of mouse turds around, if there's deer mice you might be running the risk of picking up hanta virus if you are breathing in the dust from them. Would be a good idea to wear a mask if you can.
I would update the water pump and solar panels when you can 😘👍🏻💕💕
Always easier to open and close container doors together 👍👍
Are te scorpions UV reactive, it makes then dead easy to spot at night if you shine a UV torch at then. In the UK we have a small species of scorpion that live on walls right in towns. Normally you would just walk past them but they glow real bright under UV
@HerbOMatic will the first project be a power armor construction type suit so you can lift gurders for the giant mech project(power armor for safety)
With those primative runways, you might want to find an airplane with trunda tires. That will make landings easier and safer.Good luck!😊
You need to get ride of that damaged solar panel. leaving it inline reduce all panels from full output.
Great stuff can’t wait for the next one on the ranch 🇦🇺
