As in 2 clamshells, meaning 4 total drivers? Been contemplating doing that for a fully functional install in my truck without sticking things under the seat.
@@umstewpot exactly, I should have said that. 4 mounted on the wall behind the seat on my supercab. They carve down pretty low too. I can't recommend those enough for space saved, however carefully observe with the nose when cranking it loud, you can't really hear them bottom out, but for the size they are little beasts with the right expectations. At moderate volume it sounds like 2 decent/clean 12s to me.
14:58 You should switch your meter to AC. The reason why speaker diaphragms vibrate in and out is because they get AC through the coils. If there's substantial amount of DC going to the speaker driver, those tiny wires wrapped around the voice coil would get obliterated. Though, it's good to find out there was little to no DC on the output.
Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations

Hi Parker I have a 2000 f250 extended cab and still need my backseat so I went with sundown 1500 mono block with two 10 inch sundown sml 2 ohm dvc with a prefab box fits pretty good had to add 1 inch spacers so the subs quit hitting the floor lol. I just have some 100 kenwood concert series in the doors with a kenwood double din and it hits pretty good I was surprised because the box is only 6 inches deep sealed of course. I forget the company that makes the underseat box but anyway. I had two american bass 10s at first with a scar 1200 mono block and those suckered took the power pretty good. But I love sundown.
I would love to see this cheap one vs a Kicker Hideaway to see of there is much difference. I have the Pioneer TS-WH500A HVT and not a fan. Curious how it compares to these as well.
I saw that you reduced the bass boost and the gain to mid level. However, if you throw out sound quality, what does the amp do with those adjustments maxed out?
I have a question? When your building a system with more woofers than the amount of air space than your car or truck is capable of what is the best option to Just get the biggest amount of space? Money not being limited. Keep in mind the system is just using the car as a host. Money not a factor.
In my f150 I have 4 12s in a 6th order box. With the doors closed its loud. But when I open the door so much more output. Not really sure how to answer that question other than taking out your back seats.since money is not an issue then buy a bigger vehicle Tahoe suburban even a van will get you more air space.
Great vid. Thanks! There is a pretty big market for these under-seat subs. I would love if you could do more vids testing out some of the higher end subs. The Kicker, Alpine, and Rockford are popular just to name a few.
The reason why the fuse for the wire is larger than the amp is because it’s fused for the wire size to protect of the wire shorts on something, it’s not to protect the amp.
I have the Cerwin Vega Vpas-12 underseat sub. Pretty decent sub, really bumps, obviously can't hit lows the best but I would highly recommend otherwise. 12" sub, passive radiator, I belive something like 600w peak.
My first sub was a under-seat pioneer, nice quality but hardly any output. My old rattly truck just overpowers sound. So from my experience an under-seat sub would only work well if you had 2 of them 1 under each front seat, at that price you could get a much larger sub box but it's still an option if you are really set on saving space.
From watching your videos, I was looking to upgrade from my Alpine type S to possibly a Deaf Bonce sub. Through my research, the Alpine type R looks like it out-performs alot of the "under $300" subs. I would be interested to see a comparison of similar subs to the Type R.
So I have that one and to get the lights to turn on I had to turn all the adjustments back to max but my question is how would you wire it to have the led turn on when sub turns on
Same same, fishing reels are similar in that a retailer can order product with many different attributes, bearings of different types, color schemes.... Many Chinese manufacturers will label just about anything the way you want them to, legal or not in many cases, and along with that substandard quality parts incorporating the product just to wring that fraction of a cent out of the profit margin. Did it look used and was delivered in packaging that was obviously replaced, being the dents were not evident on the package exterior? Water heaters aren't cheap, the greater the expense, the more lengths taken to ensure that profit margin!
This subwoofer is perfect for the Forza horizon gaming setup with the steering wheel, driving seat, pedals and stuff so you can feel the vibration of the simulated car engine
Looking at the back of the unit, it looks 1000% identical to the power acoustik USW-80l I bought last Saturday for 30 dollars. The only difference is the auto on/off button. Mine controls the LEDs, but the looks are the exact same! Everything is in the exact same place! Even the POS, REM, and NEG termials are the same. Mine is 600w with 100RMS, so there's no telling what it really is. But for 30 dollars, I'd buy 5 more, and if i burn the speaker, i can swap a skar low pro in and be done.
So I went back to the owners manual, and it does mention the auto on/off button, but it controls the light. The feature is on all the time now, I guess. Another thing that caught my eye is the tarantula/spider grill cover. Mine has a cover, but no tarantula. The amazon one does. You can go to your local walmart and get one for the exact same price, 130$
Hey Parker I have a question about the boss phantom subwoofer 10inch I ran it parallel and had a boss 4000 watt amp on it and it only lasted 4 days never turned it up past 18 volume???
The 12V LEDs were probably what smoked when you opened the box. An amp putting 60 watts into a 4 ohm speaker will see about 21-22 volts to the speaker which would burn those LEDs out. Your digital volt meter is not fast enough to measure it unless you ran a single frequency through it (like a 60hz test tone) so the reading wasn't accurate. As for the amp being mounted to the box, that's a bigger issue if the box is wood as the wood will flex (especially cheap boxes) and shake the components, but this is a pretty solid box that's typically sitting on carpet, and the power level is pretty low so it's not likely shaking the amp enough to do any damage in the short term. They probably should have used a dab of silicone glue on the caps and transformer coils as those are the heaviest components and the most likely to work themselves loose over time. I'm guessing at $100 retail they are cutting every corner they can to make a buck on it. It's amazing to me that you can get an item like this manufactured and assembled, then shipped across the world, stored in a warehouse and then delivered to your doorstep in two days. You figure the wholesale cost of it is half of what you paid, then they had to drive a big truck to your house. It would be nice if they would just be honest with the advertising. Big D just tested a similar one that claimed 120W RMS and 480 max and it did 62 max. He dropped it to 2 ohms (this one was meant to be 4 ohms, he just did it for kicks) and only then did it put out the rated RMS power. It will never do that on it's own since it has a 4 ohm woofer and there is no way it would ever see 480. Honest advertising slogan "It'll make your crappy radio less crappy, puts out 60 watts on a good day and may die in a year but what do you want for $100 bucks?". They'd sell the same number of units. If you want a cheap sub, you expect a cheap sub, no need to lie!
You're off by a good bit, a 60w signal at 4ohms is 15.5v Plus he wasn't reading any voltage with it set to DC voltage trying to read AC signal.....he needs to learn how to use a volt meter.
are you gonna review the dvx line of subwoofer from d4s when they’re released? I saw yesterday jp posted that they’ll be available “right in time for Christmas”
First time watching this channel and I'm curious. Do you have any knowledge of electronics? Like P=IxE? In order to get 800 watts peak at say 14 volts you would need around 57 amps. Not going to happen with a 15 or 20 amp fuse.
If you build a custom setup then they can be quit effective. I built a 0.35 cubic foot box to go under the driver seat on my 2018 KIA Niro and put a 10” Cadence shallow mount sub into it. Was pushing around 300 watts to it and it sounded really good, except for 30hz and below. Tight bass notes gave a satisfying thump you would feel in your chest and it took up zero cargo space. The best part is the box, amp, and sun cost about $200 total.
Under seat subwoofers can be made to be REALLY good, but these pre-fabed ones are just crap. I built a custom under seat subwoofer for my 2018 KIA Niro. It went under the driver seat, was approximately 0.35 cubic feet, and I installed a 10” Cadence shallow mount 2 ohm sub in it. It was powered by a cheap Razor amp from Walmart. Total cost was about $200 for the box, amp, and subwoofer. Bass was VERY tight and clean. Output was REALLY good but did drop off below 30 hz. Tight bass thumps could be felt in your chest and it blended really good with the factory speakers. The best part is that it took up zero trunk space.
Good evening sir.. at around 8:10 you state that 16 awg is literally half of 8 awg. This isn’t correct. 11 awg is half of 8 awg. 14 awg is half of 11 awg.. 16 awg is under 1/4th of 8 awg, closer to 1/8th even.
I wish you would have hooked up a lower impedance to see what the amplifier did at 2 ohms. It’s not really fair to say it didn’t do its rating when we all know about impedance rise. It still wouldn’t have done its rating I’m sure, but we might have been able to explain rating a little clearer. In either scenario this was cool and I’m gonna watch it again.
Please check out NVX's active ported subwoofers!!! They come in at a great price and are ported!!! I think that most people don't understand the real reason for them. If you use 2 of these types along with a small 8 inch in the back would give you a really nice experience on low power. Feel the music at any volume! . Also the auto on should still work with low level. I have a Polk audio active sub in my room and it works just fine XD
The only thing I seen I didn't agree with was his comparison to the online fuse and fuse on the amp/sub. The online fuse protects that tiny ass 16g power wire lol. Fuse on the Amp is what protects the Amp.
If u are interested in any nice upgrades ext for that subaru lmk i have a bunch of mostly new stuff left over from my last 3 builds im going too be listing up forsale from perrin big fmic kit, aftermarket intake manifold and billet throttle body, big fuel upgrades, aftermarket turbos , defi bf gauges, methanol injection kit, nitrous stuff , rotated turbo setup and much more i can give ya awsome deals on stuff too help out 🤙
tbh ive seen that amp all over aliexpress so i think they're all just resellers putting their own brand on it but yeah i bought the seventour one and honestly didnt care for it at all but it did shake my rear view mirror (i have a cheap Dual head unit with no crossover settings and all 6x9 full range speakers throughout my car so i think it just didnt sound good without crossovers to the speakers) but as a sealed unit it really doesnt hit that low. i will say i wonder how well they would work if you put 1 under each seat would deffinitly go good with stock system with small speakers but honestly to anyone thinking about getting this id look at the cheap jensen or dual sub in a box for under $100 you'll get better bass
1) 16 gauge isn't half(50%) of 8 gauge, it's closer to ~15%. 2) you have to have multimeter set to ACV to measure voltage going to a speaker/sub, NOT DCV like in your video. 3) a subwoofer can be the driver itself or the cabinet, so the info about it being both 8" and 10" is not exactly inaccurate, tho I'm sure it's there to fool the more ignorant people.
Williston Audio did a review on a under the seat sub somewhat like this and it was pretty disappointing as well. Looked very similar to the one you reviewed, leading me to believe they are almost carbon copies just restyled and rebranded slightly different. Same cheap amp inside as well. It will fill the missing bass in a stock system..and that's about it.
You say you have never seen one of those powered subwoofers with the auto power on feature that activates through the RCA inputs? then you haven't been in the car audio game long enough.
Thank you guys for watching!! If you don’t mind please like and comment to help make this video a huge one! I need y’all’s help here! Bass On 🔊🔊

You're off by a good bit, a 60w signal at 4ohms is 15.5v
Plus he wasn't reading any voltage with it set to DC voltage trying to read AC signal.....he needs to learn how to use a volt meter.
I love your WRX Parker, for being as old as it is the car looks amazing!
Thanks man! I’ve tried to keep it in good shape
Doesn’t sound too bad, good vid
are you gonna review the dvx line of subwoofer from d4s when they’re released? I saw yesterday jp posted that they’ll be available “right in time for Christmas”
First time watching this channel and I'm curious. Do you have any knowledge of electronics?
Like P=IxE?
In order to get 800 watts peak at say 14 volts you would need around 57 amps. Not going to happen with a 15 or 20 amp fuse.
150K by the end of the year! Hope to see you at Ruckus again this year.
Still bumpin the k9 v2 10 in my daily also! Sounds good works good, just get stinky at times lol.
Parker amplifiers put out AC voltage on music. Your multimeter was on the wrong setting. I thought you knew that lol.
Parker nice video man. Never been a fan of under-seat woofers anyway lol.
Those, all in one, under the seat, systems are a waste of money, in my opinion.
I'd rather get a decent slim sub in a box with a separate amp.
Trash
Parker u rock brah love your videos, keep em coming!
Use better power wire if you're using they're wire see if you can get more power
Ive found shoving some woofer in the doors or in the rear deck was always better then one of those cheap things u be better off .
You still getting a new vehicle for a dedicated bass ride ?
Big wiz dyno this amp was making like 70 rms. But the cone was chrome is the exact same sub with different logo and grill. China stuff
I have the same setup playing 25 hz having problems with my door locks now😂
I have 3 of those same ones in my car and it hit a 132.2 they bang.
What's it meter at the kick?.
Thanks for the video review.
these are under the KUERL brand on Ali and rated 120W
I wish you would have hooked up a lower impedance to see what the amplifier did at 2 ohms. It’s not really fair to say it didn’t do its rating when we all know about impedance rise. It still wouldn’t have done its rating I’m sure, but we might have been able to explain rating a little clearer.
In either scenario this was cool and I’m gonna watch it again.
Great video Parker
Please check out NVX's active ported subwoofers!!! They come in at a great price and are ported!!!
I think that most people don't understand the real reason for them. If you use 2 of these types along with a small 8 inch in the back would give you a really nice experience on low power. Feel the music at any volume!
.
Also the auto on should still work with low level. I have a Polk audio active sub in my room and it works just fine XD
So JBL made an amp years ago that could use the Low Level/ RCA inputs with a auto on and off.
There are amps that will turn on when a low level signal is present. You see it a lot more in home audio than car audio.
The only thing I seen I didn't agree with was his comparison to the online fuse and fuse on the amp/sub. The online fuse protects that tiny ass 16g power wire lol. Fuse on the Amp is what protects the Amp.
Big flex on that trunk
For some reason I'm unable to like your video but I do like your videos, very informative
Well, technically when measuring subwoofers you do count the outside basket diameter.
the amp mounted in the box with that sub is no problem compared to a real bass build.
You should review an american bass double din radio
Love your content bro! Keep it coming! It would be awesome if you did Incriminator Audio death penalty review!
Please please review Hypersonic subs carbon cone please
Having one under the driver and passenger seat should do the trick
I hooked up one of them under the seat things and it sounded like poop
It did put a smile on your face. 😂
That was a long time ago. I remember the video you blow the old JL sub .💯👍✌️
browsing amazon is a bit like browsing ebay, theres always cheaper options, weather they are any good or not is questionable at best.
Nice vid they got exposed i saw the same one on amazon for like 80-90 bucks
Love that WRX my guy. That underseat sub is trash. Great fire starter though. 😂😂😂 BASS ON
