Hi Freya, thank you for your helpful instructions. This is a challenging song because of the low note to high note transitions, and you definitely need to be emotionally connected to the lyrics for the climax to have maximum impact. I watched your video and kept practicing, and was able to make noticeable improvements.

You are such a great singer and teacher
although, for legatto, you don't necessarily need to slightly slur into the next note. you could very well not do the slur but as long as it is continuous, it's still legatto. so, where Freya sang "someone mutters and the street lamp sputters..." both demonstration of it where perfectly legatti. just one had a slight slur and the second one did not. both where flawless legatti.

Thanks a lot for this. I use to re-text music pieces of all kinds for small cabaret and private events and was quite astonished how substantially hard to sing "Memories" was because of the extremes highs and lows. You helped me a bit to calm down and take it easy ;-). PS: I don't believe there are really singers who can do 3 - 4 octaves!!!

Thank you for all those good and usefull advices. I love this song so much, but as a man, it is very hard for me to sing it properly, not for the down notes but when it climbs to the "Touch me" and even more on the "it's so easy" which climbs even higher !" I reach them, but it is impossible for my voice to keep a vibrato on these high notes. If you have an advice for me to be able to keep it, it would be great. Thanks.
