I like your teaching style, it's very expressive and easy to follow. Thank you.
Yes!!!! Tension in the body... but so many trying to sing these kinds of songs don't engage enough body.
Freya Casey I love the notes and style of this song. Can you do “you know I’m no good”? Amy Winehouse
To be fair, I think the people who make the mistake of not engaging the body while singing this are not really forgetting to engage the body, they are just too focused on getting it right and forget to feel the song. I tend to get this song right when I don't overthink it, and just letting myself feel the song AUTOMATICALLY engages my body. There is such a thing as too much technique.
Of course we are all different people with different senses, different nervous systems and different psyches (the psychological and nervous system aspects of singing are very underrated and too often an afterthought for vocal coaches too) and what works for me might not work for others. I do find that feeling the music one sings helps greatly with singing it "right," but also one can't stress enough the importance of consciously listening first.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I had to sing this song at a gig on the pier, I have never sung in public in my life and was extremely nervous, your video was a life saver. Oh and I am 69.
I am auditioning for the voice and used this video! Thank you!
Freya, I'm so, so happy I discovered you. ❤ Ti adoro ❤ Baci
Great, I like your emphasis being on the "attitude" you impart to a line, the subtext is kinda "play up your vocal nuances, don't dull them (cause it sounds wan)" and then also, "Probably best if you land in a genre your vocal nuances suit!". It's hard to not feel that the style that speaks to you is going to be right, across every song you perform.
thts my favorite song
I love the way you teach makes it easier to get it perfect ..
Hi Freya, I love your teaching..You are awesome.Could you do how to sing that song-Ed Sheeran "thinking out loud" please..I'm worried about how to properly get those high notes (I am a Tenor). Thanks
Thank you ❤️
Amazing
Thanks great job 👏
I love your videos so much. You are brilliant! I am wondering if you'd ever consider doing a tutorial on an Anhoni Hegarty piece. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you!!🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻👍🏻💕🌟
You sound like my Chorus professor, she would say this kind of advice about the vowel thing. Great job!
I think the trick to "water" is to finish that word with an exhale. At least that's what works for me. Obviously not an audible one, but yeah. 🤷♀️
Hi Freya, do you have a full version cover of this unplugged piano version and can you show me the keys that you have used for this piano version? Thank you!

And you wasted it to say absolutely nothing. 🥴
thats not your type.of.song, you beed strong vicals.you.have like a white girl.small voice ,.you.need.strength
Nobody has Amy Winehouse's voice, and no amount of teaching can get you to sound like her. She's teaching people who can sing to interpret this song as well as they can, and she's doing a great job at that. And btw, Amy Winehouse is white.
Great response yanyi5
@@yanyi5 amy Winehouse had soul. She sang with soul. That's what she meant.
That's a pretty racist comment. Also, get the memo: Amy was white. Further, learn to write simple sentences correctly, it's not that hard.
Don’t like how you sang it, not your song
