Next video: Rupert destroys homophobes with facts and logic.
YES XD
reminds me of a kid fact-checking Matt Rife on his misinformation on the planets.
Or goes on Little Big shots
This was absolutely brilliant. Rupert asked such great questions! It would be great to do this once a year to see the difference in the questions he asks as he grows up!
Oh gosh, what an excellent idea, I love it ❤️
This is an awesome idea!
Yes, please do this!
That's a great idea !❤
Or even every three months. They grow up so fast those first few years. He is adorable.
Love how she caught herself when he said he'd wear pink to his wedding and initially said he couldn't then realized what she'd said and assured him he can wear whatever he wants. Their son is lovely and smart. I'm so glad they were able to triumph over all the adversity to have him.
“One of my friends is called George but I don’t know. I have not met him because he died.”
This statement made my day! 🤣
Rupert is so bright and charming! You both are wonderful parents, this video was so fun! Thank you for sharing your lives with us. 🥰
same, it cracked me up 😂 the way kid's minds work is so funny and adorable
I've never heard a 2 year old speak about death at all, let alone so matter of factly. I love that openness, I bet it'll set him up really well later in life
Same, love the stuff kids come out with sometimes 😂
Telling Rupert it's normal to feel anxious on your wedding day and he's like "nah hold up i gotta get a doll" had me reeling 😂😂😂
He’s like nah mummy I got dolls to play with not be anxious about a wedding 😂
How is Rupert almost 3?? He's so big!
Right?! Seems like just yesterday Claudia was preggars with him!
Several yrs ago now i lived with a roommate who had a baby of their own, and they had that kid around the same time as friends who visited often...
By two and a half yrs old that other kid was like two heads taller than my roommates kid xD Genetics just be like that sometimes; the funniest thing to me tho is the fact that btwn the two parent couplings... The taller kid came from the smaller parents xD They just shoot up (wait, that has another meanin xD) earlier apparently cuz genetics be weird
Right? Time is flying 😊
Right?! How is he an actual walking, talking human already?
Right? I swear it was just last week they were announcing the pregnacny!
"What does the postman bring to your house?" sounds like the start of a riddle 😂
I have never heard such a young kid speaking with a british accent and it's SO CUTE???!??!? I am DYING!!!
I live in England myself, and still I love hearing little kids talk! I know this one 4 year old, he nearly speaks better than I do, he's very intelligent and has the cutest English accent.
I like how you don’t talk to him like a baby, but talk normally and adapt things to his level! So nice to see, and it’s clear that it’s helped him develop really good articulation :)
having rupert be the person to let me know walter died is crazy 😭 omg i don’t know how i missed that!!
no literally😭😭😭
Me too 😢
Things I had no idea I could learn from an interview conducted by a toddler: how to brush my hair properly!
I'm a curly-haired trans woman, nobody ever taught me how to look after my hair. I figured out some things, but starting at the bottom and working my way up when brushing had never occurred to me. Brushing my hair this morning was a revelation! No horrible noise, only 1 very small tangle, and my hair is actually less frizzy than usual!
Also: Rupert is absolutely delightful! :D
yay! and ya, dealing with curly hair (especially long hair) takes a bit of practise.
Curly hair can be hard to brush! Some people find it easier to use a wide tooth comb (same deal- you start from the bottom and work your way up) or they do make brushes designed specifically for curly hair. Also liberal amounts of conditioner and or keratin spray are your friends😊
Don't feel bad. I am a curly haired cis woman and no one even told me I should use combs. Was just always in trouble for having frizzy hair... because brushing it makes it frizzy.
Good luck to us both in our hair journeys!
@@pigpjs My hair is wavy and will even go into some spirals if left alone after washing. Until well into adulthood, I had thick wavy/frizzy hair and I didn't understand how much certain conditioners and different ways of getting tangles out could help avoid the frizz!
Here's what works best for me:
* Use your *fingers* to gently pry apart the tangles and get to the point where you're not finding any more tangles when you run your fingers through all your hair
* THEN rinse only (because you really don't need to wash as often as people do and it strips the hair of it's natural conditioners)...or shampoo if you like (with a mild shampoo). Find a conditioner that works for _your_ hair.
* Use your fingers to comb the conditioner through and detangle again. Rinse thoroughly.
* You can wring out your hair gently with a towel wrapped around it. But then let it air dry and *don't comb or brush it once dry*
Bottom line: While a wide-tooth comb does less frizz-producing than a dry brush, it's brushing dry that seems to create the frizz. I have been *wet-brushing* for a while now (with a natural boar-bristle brush which helps distribute the natural oils down the hairshaft), with a bit of wet wide-combing at the top sometimes if your hair is thick or long like mine so the natural brush bristles can't quite get the hairs lined up near the scalp.
Just keep wetting your brush thoroughly as you brush, every few strokes. Your hair should end up damp. Let it air dry after and the curls/waves will magically come back, with no frizz.
(Funny note: My mother had long hair, until 30 or so, i believe, but she was 35 when she had me so I only ever saw her with permed, dyed, collar-length hair. As long as I had fine, straight hair like her (from birth to puberty), she braided it and knew what to do. At puberty, apparently my dad's curly-haired genes kicked in and I suddenly had thick, wavy hair that went frizzy.
I wasn't a girly-girl and oddly, my mother never really taught me grooming, although she was groomed quite nicely herself. I chose to go live with my dad at 14 and we were like two bachelor roommates until I finally moved out to live with my first long-term girlfriend. I began to use conditioner more regularly and discovered that air-drying created _some_ spirals; my "dreadlocks" as my gf teased.
And--oddly again--while my mother accepted my being gay (I don't think it was that much of a surprise--she knew I had been in love with my jr high bff), she wasn't all that thrilled either, and yet...she kept trying to get me to _cut my hair_ . While every other gay girl in L.A. was wearing the standard dyke haircut, I kept my hair long. (I'm not femme, I just don't do fads and didn't think it would look good on me.)
My mother was intrigued with the idea of finding out how curly it might get if it was a lot shorter and not weighed down. I'm rather curious about that myself, and I wack off 6" or so every so often, but so far I haven't gone short. I always said I'd cut it when I hit 40. Now I'm well past that, so I suppose I'll finally go short when I'm majority gray-haired (which is coming soon). I'll finally find out whether I can have the Julie Andrews pixie cut I always planned on, or if I do indeed go curly/wavy.)
P.S. I'm not one to do all the frou-frou girly stuff and I'm lazy as hell, and frugal, so I'm never going to do all the "product" routines that women on YT promote for "curly girls". In fact, I used the time in isolation during the pandemic to go "no-poo"! Once my scalp adjusted and I got into a daily wet brushing routine, my hair feels softer and calmer than ever. I get compliments on it's luster and waves! So, for now at least (4 yrs in), I'm continuing. I rinse my hair when I shower. Finger comb and wet-brush and that's it. My hair is better and has gotten longer than ever; when it gets below waist length, i cut off 6" and a bit more while evening it out.
I felt like such a dumbass when someone told me i could just start at the bottom of my hair 😅 kinda made/makes me wonder what other habits I've taken up that are horribly inefficient!
Rupert sounds like a mini professor. 😀
i love how they talk to Rupert, they explain everything to him amd are so gentle. i am only 15, so i can't really say what's good parenting and what's not, but i feel like the energy in this household must me so calm and nice. such amazing parents!
Rupert is such a great kid! I'm reminded, when interacting with children this age, of the sense of curiosity and wonder that many people lose as adults. This was such a wonderful experience, Thanks!
When Claudia said dragons don’t exist, and Rupert said “we don’t know”, it reminded me of me. We weee always told there was no Santa Claus. But I wanted there to be, and there was Miracle on 34th St. and all that. And one year I saw on Christmas Eve, I saw Santa’s sleigh sailing across the night sky. (I was too old to believe by then, but it definitely had an effect on me)
Interviews by Rupert NEEDS to become a regular segment.
As a Montessori teacher, I can see how much time and effort you put into educating and giving Rupert the right words to express himself! The things kids say are so funny, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it!! Keep up the good work, Jess and Claud ❤
This is the most perfect and cutest way of including a child in videos while also keeping their privacy 🥰
This video has taken on such a fresh perspective it’s absolutely fun to watch. Oh Rupert is so smart and adorable. Definitely the product of brilliant and well matched parents, and raised in an environment filled with love, warmth and respect. Perfect parenting nonetheless.
I absolutely love how they are choosing to involve their child in videos. It’s so respectful of his autonomy and privacy.
Rupert is also such a bright little boy! He just radiates joy. Such a sweet interview!
What a lovely video!!! Your child is so well spoken for his age! I was *very* impressed at his communication skills!!! You two are doing a FANTASTIC job with him. Keep it up, mamas!
i love how you can just tell which children read/have been read to a lot, he’s so well spoken!!
it's so interesting the way he so casually talks about death, id be really interested to know how you approached discussing the topic with him
My parents spoke to me about death very early as well. I'm not sure how they explained it, but I feel like it's something a lot of small kids can comprehend really well if the household allows for open conversations about more "grown-up" topics (and doesn't coddle or baby talk too much). Letting the kids ask questions and giving honest answers isn't as hard as our cultures say! They're smart little information sponges!
It was weirdly refreshing in a way to see a two year old go ‘and then my dog died!!!’ xD
I love that you have found a way to involve Rupert more in the channel while still respecting his privacy and boundaries. He's such a sweet little guy. I'm so glad we got to "see" him on here. :)
I don't think I've ever seen Claudia talk so much! 😂 Rue did an excellent job and I expect he'll only get more interested and involved in the channel as he gets older 💖 Also, that was a fantastic dragon! 🐉
I love how he talked about his painting, he described it so well.
He’s so well-spoken and intelligent, you two are clearly doing an excellent job
Rupert is charming and joyful just like his parents. ❤️ It is so sweet how Jessica and Claudia converse with him.
He is SO well spoken. And quite that artist as well.
He gets al that from his mummy’s! They’re such good parents.
Oh I love 3 year olds, they're so fun to have conversations with! I have lots of children in my life so I've had few "interviews" like this lol. He's adorable
You could wear the pantsuit if you ever got a vow renewal
And Jessica could wear a big dress with lots of petticoats and bows!
soooo cute 💙 red is the traditional wedding color in China, at a wedding, everything is red and everyone wears red! :)
How does Jessica do with Rupert's toddler speech? I didn't see him signing, so I wondered how she does understanding him. Also, thank you for subtitling him - it really helps!
im guessing its easier with a toddler your talking to eveyday
Also I remember her saying really early on that Rupert had understood that she is deaf and so he needs to look at her and avoid covering his mouth so this also probably helps.
His verbal skills are quite good for his age! You've taught him really well already!
Watching Rupert sit and listen to your answers is incredibly validating to me. Because my child would never sit quietly and listen for explanations this long. Why is it validating? I don’t exactly know, but it confirms that all kids are different 😅
*Rupert:* "What was your wedding like?"
*Jessica and Claudia:* _[in-depth discussion of pantsuits]_
He's so talkative now, and if I heard you correctly he's not even three yet! :3 Rupert is a real testament to you both 🏳🌈🏳⚧
Loved the sound effects of Claudia getting phone calls about her dog 🐶.
I love how you guys talk to him like an actual human. You don’t baby him
Look at the tiny journalist!
I learnt something about brushing my hair
[sends you nonbinary brainwaves psychically]
Me too!
"i can be the helper looking for daisies" is such a lovely sentence idk it warmed my heart for some reason:) children say really cute things sometimes
Rupert is so creative with his questions. It was very interesting to hear the answers from each person. Thank you for the video, I really enjoyed it and I hope you all had fun filming it too.
Rupert is over here asking the real questions, we don’t talk about what the postman brings to your house enough 😂
This video was adorable! You two are really good at answering his questions, it feels like I'm watching an incredibly gentle children's television show. It's also cool to allow your child this space to ask questions they might have been thinking about.
Today I learned I brush my hair wrong. I also never had someone teach me. I'm 32. This is the first I've heard of it. I feel like I must've been living under a rock! Thank you, kind couple!
My life would have been so much easier if I had lesbian mothers apparently. You two are doing an amazing job at rewarding his curiosity.
I love the fact that your both involving your son in your job, and protecting his privacy at the same time. And youre doing such a great job with Rupert too, hes amazing! 😁
Aww, my family calls me Ruru too! I've never heard another one until today :) your Ruru is such a gem!
every time i see someone have to explain how landlines work i grow another grey hair
something about little kids with accents is just so freaking cute omg
Rupert is so sweet!!! He has the best parents!!!❤❤❤
This made my day
I was not having a good time and it made me feel a bit better
My chronic illness is getting worse/I'm having a really bad flare idk
❤
Hope you feel a bit better soon.
you’ve got this. ✊🏾
OMG Rupert is so sweet and smart. This made my entire day!!
I love how you protect Rupert's identity and privacy~ Well done.
Rupert has the sweetest voice ❤ i too would like the postman to bring me energy and motivation, where can i place an order?
I love the way you filmed the interview, a very good way of respecting/ keeping his privacy
Claudia has a great way of telling a story.
This is super cute. Rupert is so smart!
I really appreciate the way you phrased your sentences (such as saying that most people have two perants instead of saying all)
Well...sometimes... maybe...the postman DO bring babies.... but that another story.
🤭
“Tell your daddy I said you have the milkman’s eyes”
He speaks beautifully for such a small little bean. Precious.
I love his description of his painting! His language development is fantastic. Well done to the both of you for the effort you have put in reading with him and talking with him to help him grow!
This is so cute and I love that you position him in a way so his identity is protected. ❤
Ruru is a piece of gold😂😂❤
I love the way you let Rupert ask questions. He seems to be a very bright little boy.
His little accent is the cutest thing EVER 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
What a wonderful video that I know you’ll absolutely love having when he’s older and you can hardly remember this age!
Also - the start of a marriage doesn’t have to be the only time you gather your loved ones to profess your commitment to another in beautiful gowns. I think a 10-year anniversary vow renewal (or similar) could be an opportunity for you guys to have a chance to make the decisions that feel more true to you, outside of the expectations of a wedding. And Rupert would be there!!
I absolutely loved the idea of Claudia in a stunning white femme suit and my brain immediately pictured her with an undercut. In case that’s something you’ve ever considered, I really think you’d rock it!
Aww I loved him talking about his dragon painting !! There's people in there but we don't know who because it's a costume 👀🐉
What a sweetheart Rupert is! I have to say, I miss this age. The questions they ask are so interesting. You're both doing a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing your family with us while still protecting your child. Sending love ❤
Oh I’m so sad you didn’t like either of your wedding dresses. Sounds like you two need a vow renewal ceremony wearing what you love 😉
I am having a fall wedding and I am going to wear a burgundy dress, possibly in a lighter velvet fabric. I’m going for a haunted cottagecore look!
I just now noticed how Claudia's voice and accent is similar to Jodie Whittaker, the 13th Doctor 😅 anyone else has the same feeling?
I'm genuinely not trying to sound rude, but are you British? because I genuinely don't hear any similarity between their accents at all. Claudia sounds like she's from the South whereas Jodie is from Huddersfield in Yorkshire.
@@ellad43 no, I'm not British. I'm Brazilian. Their voices are similar to me and so are the way they pronounce certain words
@@gisela_oliveira That makes sense, they are both British, which compared to Brazil is pretty tiny! However, to people who live here, they're not considered similar at all 🙂
@@gisela_oliveira Yeah I get what you mean, she's not got much of an accent but she says words like 'dance' with a short 'a' as northerners (like Jodie) tend to do
I am English but to my ears it’s not so much the accent as the intonation and pitch - I do definitely hear a resemblance now to Jodie Whittaker in a weird way now you mention it ! (but definitely not by accent)
It's fascinating to see what kiddos focus on and process back to you.
He is so bright for a 3 year old. Great sense of humor too!
What a clever and articulate child you have. Some wonderful questions, they got m thinking what would my answers be. I hope Rupert enjoyed asking you both and knowing more about the past etc. ❤
Rupert's questions were more relevant and respectful than some "professional journalists" out there! Well done, Kellgren-Fozard Family!
OMG he's jumping and talking?!? And aww i can hear his baby British accent. So adorable. So big!
Thank you Rupert fpr asking these are the hard hitting questions that we as a society need answers to!❤
This was so cute! Rupert is so adorable!!
Rupert is so smart!! His accent is so adorable and sweet!!
I also was not taught proper hair brushing, so I learned something today, thank you Rupert
How charming and engaging Rupert is! You can see the care and love that have gone into forming your family. It’s hard work, but look at the rewards!
My daughter is a few months younger than Rupert. It's so lovely watching you go through the similar phases as my family, in terms of language skills our kids seem to be around the same level. So lovely. I am expecting #2 in December. I wish you all the positive baby making luck and love for your ongoing journey with creating a little sibling ❤
Some things that were different for me when I was Rupert's age:
Frozen did not exist yet!
My town only had one supermarket and we didnt go very often - we went to lots of small shops like the butchers and greengrocers for almost all our food and supplies
If you needed to buy something you usually had to go to the shop to get it - you didn't get your grocery shopping delivered, apart from milk, and if you ordered things in the post they were from a catalogue, not an online shop, and there was a lot less choice
awww rupert is so sweet , you should do this again , old man in a young mans body thats for sure well done jessie and claudie too
He is so well spoken and smart for an almost 3 year old! Such good questions from him as well.
Adorable! So interesting to see how a little one sees the world. Keep on interviewing, Reporter Rupert. x
So wholesome and chaotic 💙🙏🏻
That was even cuter than I'd expected 😊
I think Rupert has been a wonderful addition to the channel, under your care of course. Thanks for sharing him with the world ❤
This is so adorable and wonderful...He is so creative 😅 and he is quick too!! He gets it! Is it just me, or does he speak very well for his age? He speaks so clearly and full sentences. He never just babbles. Something he does end a word😂but it seems like... he doesn't want that words then.😅 Not like he can't use the word. He used it before
You all are so genuine in your frustration about the new baby.😅
Fair enough the lesbian mothers child ask the questions
Also lovely his cute little voice and accent
‘How flowers were like?’ Kids either think we are their age or acient no in between hahaha
This makes my inner child happy. I love seeing you guys talk to him like he can actually have real solid thoughts, because he can. But you still treat him like a kid still which really makes me happy. He’s so stinking cute, and I hope that we get to see more of him doing stuff like this because he is just darling.
I thought it was very cute how he only asked open-ended questions 😁
Wait wait wait. WAIT. You start at the bottom when brushing hair? I'm 33 and I'm discovering this now - I do what Claudia describes!!!!!
Well this was utterly delightful! Rupert asked such thought-provoking questions. Well done!
I think you two should have a big celebration for your ten-year anniversary, and wear the outfits you wish you had worn for your wedding!
Peonies are my favorite flowers too! My grandma had them in her garden.
That was so adorable ! I am so impressed with how articulate Rupert is ❤
Those were incredible well articulated questions ! Congrats Rupert !
This is literally the sweetest thing I've ever watched
Well that was adorable! 🥰 Rupert is definitely a precious and precocious child, can't believe he's only two with so much vocabulary and understanding of how to use it. What a little darling.😍🤗🥰
This was a joy to watch. My boys are all grown up now and this brought back so many wonderful memories
Watch out world, Rupert is a charmer!
