This man is as close to “purity” as you can get. There are no words in the English language that can describe him. He’s simply incredible. Watching this video fills me with joy, sadness, awe, and hope. Watching him create beauty out of nothing, and enjoy every second of it… and when he bangs his brush back and forth on the stand and chuckles and says “that’s still fun”.. that tells me this is a man who has everything figured out… we are nothing compared to him. I both admire and envy him… in a world full of degeneracy… he brings me hope and inspiration…
I hardly think complimenting a user's features constitutes trying to "get a girl on youtube". And just for reference.... you'll never get a girl. Period.
I'm with you on that one. It feels weird, (in a nice way), to think a person I didn't know, I never had any contact with, I didn't even know he was dead and yet he trigges feelings of peace, compassion, understanding, friendship, love, etc.....
I met you Bob...just a year or two before you died of a broken heart from losing your beloved wife. Anyway I was far from my Louisiana home with my husband who was stationed there at Wright Patt. I was big pregnant and always loud....I said to my husband and friends “There’s The Painter Man”. “I’m gonna say hi! You looked so tired and you had eaten alone....I should leave you alone ,they said....Sooooo I stood up big and proudly yelled....HAPPY PAINTING!!! You rushed right over with a Hugh smile that seamed to come all the way up from your toes! Gave me the biggest hug and profusely thanked ME...me...for making his day. I will forever keep this beautiful memory close to my heart....if the chance comes to pass on love...do it. Oh this was at a Cracker Barrel somewhere in Ohio.
All of his paintings are gorgeous, but this one is different. It's cozy but remote, captivating and primal, glowing and mystical, but still comforting. I want to go there ❤💛 may Bob Ross live forever in the hearts of all of the people whose hearts he continues to touch.
Dr Ning Yeh is a Chinese painter who has a soothing personality and manner similar to Bob Ross. He was on public access tv in CA in the early 2000’s. Just in case you want to branch out. He paints happy flowers. ❤️🌸 Still love Bob the best tho.
Sup Bear they still run the Bob Ross company. It’s a small office run by some really sweet ladies. They also have a live phone line with a lady who speaks in lengths about bob ross with anyone who calls. And Yes, you totally can still send them mail.
He blows my mind how he can, in a few strokes, create an entirely new feature or effect - like he did with the water. It was like wow, suddenly there's water!
Many do not know but he has a duplicate he painted to the right hand side . He will glance that way every once in awhile to see what he needs to do next. He paints these paintings in around 26 minutes so it saves him time not having to figure out what color or what image to do next. A true genius.
I thought nothing could get more Bob Ross than Bob Ross saying "Warming his foots by the fire." And then he hit us with "Better give him some buns to sit on."
The vision this man has for composition is unbelievable. He says it's easy but believe me folks, it is not. Before he puts the first stroke on the canvas he has a clear vision of exactly what is going to go where and in the order in which he will do so. This is phenomenal talent vision and foresight. He's a miracle.
he was actually working with reference paintings off camera, apart from one series, where they got stolen and he had to paint from memory, but yeah, he was very crafty
Bob inspired me to paint when the first series was aired, many years ago. Loved it and it was a must watch every week. When Bob states it's easy to do, believe him, it really is a fantastically simple style. You just need soft gentle hands and let your imagination go...
I used to watch Bob when my kids were little, I’m 58 now, and there are so many elements to his videos. Serenity - his voice and insights are so peaceful Talent - his talent silences my mind so I’m not all over the place. I’m naturally focused. Teaching - he is a true teacher and his advice and techniques are awe inspiring. The bottom line for me is that I am watching someone who truly enjoys what he is doing, and he is sharing it with everyone. An interesting concept to say the least. I have to admit though that since I found out that Bob passed away, it brings me back to reality in a way that never happened when he was alive. I guess it makes me a little sad to know that he is no longer with us here on earth. Nonetheless I still enjoy his show and it still tames the savage beast in me
Central Scrutinizer wrong. i have seen people pick up an instrument and learn how to play it within a couple of days. for others it may take years to master just one instrument. some people just have natural abilities that are too difficult to comprehend.
Central Scrutinizer let me give you a little more detail. maybe you won't miss it this time. when i was in middle school there was a kid that had a passion for music. he not only had a passion for music but for musical instruments as well. he was natural talent. he could use an instrument and completely know how to play it in very little time. he also wrote music, and his favorite instrument was the guitar, and he was flawless when he played it. the point is, of course a person can be taught certain skills and with practice become better. however, not many people can play an instrument with profound proficiency within a couple of days without any kind of past experience or training. you don't have that ability, i don't have that ability and neither did any other kid in that class. i still seldom see him. i have especially seen this with guns. that is talent. it is almost like these people had the basic knowledge of these items downloaded into their heads and all was needed was a little practice to hone abilities that they already had (natural talent).
wonderful man, wonderful talent, beautiful heart. thank you bob for sharing your paintings with us and encouraging peace and love in all of us. God bless you. gone but not forgotten.
I just recently discovered that he died a long time ago even before i was born, that's very sad cause i was going to say him that he is a great man and inspired me to paint again. I hope there's a lot of this kind people all around the world and we should find and treasure them. R.I.P. Mr. Ross.
Here in June of 2021, the peacefulness of Ross’s voice & the creativity behind each piece is incredible. I’ve enjoyed these videos for the past few weeks, it’s truly inspired me to pick up a brush & go at it!
Go straight for the canvus .... only way to get over your fear of making a mistake. Oils are very forgiving.... Sometimes I start out with a landscape and end up with a full scale floral arrangement. I love painting flowers. I never plan what I am going to do... I just start and get ideas as I go.... that is the joy of it. Self taught this method....went on to teach it.
Just imagine that he painted three versions of each painting: one as a study before the taping, second - during the taping, and the third - with more precision and details for his illustrative book. A hard worker he was.
OMG, I laughed so hard when he told the story about just "keep painting trees and bushes". The only sad part about watching Bob on RUclips is that we can't send him letters, ask for paintings and let him know how much we like him. "God bless, my friend".
@@stevenlloyd1403 I read that his fans talked the Smithsonian museum into asking the his estate for some of those paintings, come to find out they weren’t even being properly cared for like they should have, so some of them might be in the Smithsonian, which is pretty cool.

Bob was about 45 in this video. He was a Master Sergeant in the Air Force and served from 1961-1981, starting at age 19. He would be 77 now in 2019. It is sad that within 10 years of this video, he was gone. In 1995, he passed from Lymphoma, after having been diagnosed in 1994. He was married to Vivian from 1965-77 when they divorced. He had his son Steve with her and Steve was his only child. He then married Jane in 1977 the same year of his divorce from Vivian. Jane died 15 years later in 1992. He married Lynda in 1995, two months before he died. Most upsetting of all was how much he was made fun of by so many people during his life, because of his looks (hair) and "isms" ("happy little trees"). I don't know if he knew he was made fun of or mocked. I don't think people meant any harm. Not like they do today. Yet even with the cruelty, he never allowed it to be known that he was dying. It wasn't until after he was gone that the world as we know it would realize the true legend known as Robert Norman Ross. He isn't forgotten though, and never will be. If you look and see, 99% of the comments speak to our dear friend as if he is still here with us. Til we see you in heaven, Bob, "God bless".
@@notdrunkjustdrifting5103 Thank you, I didn't know some of that! I remember staying up late as a young child and watching him paint. Looking back now I think he had a significant role in myself wanting to be an artist, and I started doing art at an extremely young age. I was born in 1992 and i'm now 28. I still watch him and feel just as much happiness, and also a whole new sense of respect for him and his personality, now that i'm an adult. What an amazingly sweet, soft soul. I never saw anything to make fun of him though, even back then. I just thought he was...incredible. I hope he knows what he has left behind. Lots of young artists; aspiring to be like Bob Ross.
My favorite part when I was a kid watching Bob Ross, was always when he'd place that signature of his in RED in the corner, as he was finishing up! (It's still pretty cool to me all these years later, too!!!) Thanks, Bob! I hope you are painting happily in Heaven! xo
Painted this in high school. Couldn’t sleep tonight and randomly thought about it and was so happy I found this video. Gave me some happiness in these weird times and hopefully can give me some sleep.
Very beautiful! I used to watch him on my local channel PBS when I was little. I would sit on the floor and just be mesmertized by watching him paint. It was therapy and still is. He paint and he was my idol in starting.
When my brother and I were kids, I remember watching Bob Ross paint every day, over the summer. My grandma would join us and we all three would take a nap listening to Bob paint. I miss those days but, I still enjoy listening to Bob paint just about every night before bed

I found myself tearing up during your video. I never had a class and began with fine art and realised I might have a "talent" for it. Sold lots but I became so obsessed with detail that the fun and therapy took off. Then came pouring! Man did I have fun. But playtime is over and I studied with a lady that said there are only 4 or 5 colours you use, the rest you must blend. All her tutorials were not in my interest range and I did not like it. Here comes Bob and he shows me a natural, easy-go-lucky way of painting again! No pigment count and all that @#$%! Just have fun with a velvet voice. I'm alive again. No words can convey my gratitude. Thank you!
I'm on a journey to watch every episode and here I am on season 3 episode 10. I'd have to to say that this is EASILY a top 3 painting out of the paintings I've seen so far. This man was a gift from God. P.S. I'm also really stoned, so I could be a bit biased on this one. God bless you all and goodnight.
He does stress the importance of contrast, mirroring his life experience to some extent. His appreciation for the mundane is something many lack, as many have not known true adversity.
This is where art comes from. The emotions and perceptions of everything around us. Bob just figured out how to put it on a canvas. 0% Superficial. 100% what makes him happy.
"Warmin his foots next to the fire...." aww, love bob even more for the word FOOTS 💜 I can't even draw a straight line. Seriously. PS the comments on his videos make me smile. Hardly any negative comments which is of course rare here
Mary Kelly Don't you start with that old gag! Neither can the greatest artists, freehand. If you need a stroght line, you use a ruler! You can do any art you want, with the proper amount of time and practice
I’m sure Bob would have said - in fact, I think I’ve heard him say, “Well, I can’t draw a straight line either. That’s why my little trees are always kind of crooked. We’re all a little different. Nobody’s perfect, but it’s those little imperfections that make us beautiful. So I just let my lines be a little crooked. I’m sure the trees don’t mind. In fact, I think they’re happier that way.”
Mary you would be surprised. many people can draw. I started drawing when I was a kid, very young, but you can do it :) learn one point perspective drawing, and you will see. I can teach you :)

The fact that Bob Ross existed is the only reason I haven't given up on humanity
He was a genuine good fellow. Rare these days.

Thankyou for sharing that with us. I needed to hear that

I read he died of lymphoma and he married his 3rd wife 2 months before he died tho...🧐🤔
All of his paintings are gorgeous, but this one is different. It's cozy but remote, captivating and primal, glowing and mystical, but still comforting. I want to go there ❤💛 may Bob Ross live forever in the hearts of all of the people whose hearts he continues to touch.

R.I.P the master Bob Ross we will remember you always
Watching Bob Ross paint makes me forget all my troubles
He blows my mind how he can, in a few strokes, create an entirely new feature or effect - like he did with the water. It was like wow, suddenly there's water!
Many do not know but he has a duplicate he painted to the right hand side . He will glance that way every once in awhile to see what he needs to do next. He paints these paintings in around 26 minutes so it saves him time not having to figure out what color or what image to do next. A true genius.
I remember my mother sitting down to Bob Ross and painting along with him. Those were the good old days 😊
starkieable I rember I wasn't good at it but I would do it I always loved to see other peoples paintings done with him though

Every Time I see a beautiful spot in nature, I just imagine that Bob Ross created it... :3
LOL
He actually had 2 paintings done and one was off camera that he used for reference.
Bob inspired me to paint when the first series was aired, many years ago. Loved it and it was a must watch every week. When Bob states it's easy to do, believe him, it really is a fantastically simple style. You just need soft gentle hands and let your imagination go...
And then painted a third version of the painting for his "how to" books.
I used to watch Bob when my kids were little, I’m 58 now, and there are so many elements to his videos.
Serenity - his voice and insights are so peaceful
Talent - his talent silences my mind so I’m not all over the place.
Nonetheless I still enjoy his show and it still tames the savage beast in me
Amen to that
Talent doesn’t exist!!
Only practice and hard work.
Central Scrutinizer wrong. i have seen people pick up an instrument and learn how to play it within a couple of days. for others it may take years to master just one instrument. some people just have natural abilities that are too difficult to comprehend.
groen charles you can teach anyone anything, it doesn’t mean they’re any good at it. You’re brain isn’t working correctly.

@@catherinegrace2366 As much as I’d love to say yes, I’d be lying. I picked up a pencil and am working my way up to a brush :)
Go straight for the canvus .... only way to get over your fear of making a mistake. Oils are very forgiving.... Sometimes I start out with a landscape and end up with a full scale floral arrangement. Hello fellow Hayden
i love how he tells some little stories with every detail of the painting
Bob Ross: "We don't have to spent a lot of time making it perfect"
It is perfect..
Ikr and its weird to think that he was in the military
And he didn't spend a lot of time on it.
“Talent is nothing more than pursued interest”
Thanks, Bob. Maybe I too can paint like you one day with practice!
i miss his voice, his kind spirit and his bringing a canvas to life ever so gently. Bob, you were one of a kind!!
OMG, I laughed so hard when he told the story about just "keep painting trees and bushes". The only sad part about watching Bob on RUclips is that we can't send him letters, ask for paintings and let him know how much we like him. "God bless, my friend".
You can always send some messages to the being(s) up above and ask them to pass your message to the almighty Ross.
He really gave him good advice.
They found over 30,000 of his paintings in a warehouse. His family looks after them. None are for sell, and each are valued at one million a piece.
@@stevenlloyd1403 I read that his fans talked the Smithsonian museum into asking the his estate for some of those paintings, come to find out they weren’t even being properly cared for like they should have, so some of them might be in the Smithsonian, which is pretty cool.

I love that he says foots! Every time I squeel a little! I wonder what he would think of people smiling over his isms and talking about their mutual appreciation for it! What an odd and random thing.
I hope you are painting happily in Heaven! xo

Of course it is. Haver you ever felt the need to beat the devil out of someone like he do with the brush???
He does stress the importance of contrast, mirroring his life experience to some extent. His appreciation for the mundane is something many lack, as many have not known true adversity.
