- I unbox and give a first impression review of the TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 lens. Later I share my favorite images for my first day out with this great little lens. This is an inexpensive manual focus lens that is available for APS-C cameras in the following mounts. Leica L, Canon M, Nikon Z, Sony E, and Fujifilm X. This lens in silver looks great on my Nikon Z fc!

The lens delivers amazingly sharp images. Sensational! The panoramic image is rich in detail and beautiful. Congratulations!
Thank you, Erik. I'm happy with the lens so far!
Thank you for sharing. I have been eying this lens for a couple of months because it fits the aesthetics of the Z fc and for its bright aperture. Now, I'm sold :)
Thank you!
💖 amazing shots.. such a great eye you have in shooting those pics
Thank you very much!
Just bought this little lens for my Zfc arriving next week.Great review and beautiful photos.
I really like this lens. They also make a 23mm lens for the Zfc, I'm not nearly as happy with it.
I really liked that panorama of the bridge. Great detail! That motion blur pan was really good also! Looks like you definitely got your money’s worth with that lens!
Thank you, Patricia! It’s a neat little lens.
Great review Phil. Looks like a good budget lens for portraits. The silver and retro look matches the Zfc really well. Sounded like you had a cold, hope you’re ok. Thanks for sharing the look at the lens,, cheers 🍻 👍🙏
Thanks, Adrian! It's a neat little lens for sure. I used a different mic setup than my normal and the sound wasn't too good but I didn't want to reshoot so I just let it go. LOL
Thanks for the review! The lens does great on the out of focus areas. I really liked the panorama the detail was incredible.
I was really surprised about the image quality of the in focus and out of focus areas. I'm an auto-focus guy but I did find some joy working with this lens.
Great review Phil. Thanks
Thank you!
Great stuff Phil. Looks like a great budget lens
Thanks, Mike!
You really have a talent on photo. bravo.
Thank you! That is very kind.
You made me decided to get one. Starting to get into a fc camera. Thanks Phil.
Thank you, I hope you enjoy it!
This is a great video on this lens Phil! I purchased the lens and took delivery today (2/1/23) and it's everything and a bag of chips and it looks and feels great on my Zfc! Nice and sharp! If anyone is considering this lens........get one!
Thank you, Roger!
Looks a great little lens Phil. The colours, detail and bokeh look decent on your example images. I guess you just have to get used to using manual focus and exposure!
Thank you!
The panorama is most excellent. And wow, 17 shot handheld.
Thank you, Ron! :)
After I bought my first TT Artisan lens I was so blown away I bought five more, both Fuji mount and full-frame for Leica. With an M to Leica L adaptor (TT Artisan's adaptors are beautiful) the 47MP images from my S1R are unbelievable. Thanks for a fun review and greetings from Ellijay. I am looking forward to doing some street photography in Chattanooga soon.
I just bought the APSC 23mm 1.4 so my collection is growing as well. Thanks for watching!
Which lenses have you bought 1-5 ?
Nice review. Might be a good choice for astro.
Thank you, Leon! That's a really good point about astro!
You beat me to RUclips with your review!!! 😂 mine drops Saturday. Lol. Thank you for the shout out!!! You da man!!!👍📸 The lens is really nice though. I love mine.
I moved mine up because I needed Z fc content on a Wednesday where I have been releasing Z fc stuff and I didn't have any in the pipe. Your unboxing live was a pretty good bit of time ago. I'm excited about your video Saturday and our possible eventual TTArtisans 35 1.4 collab! :)
@@PhilThach our “possible “ (with emphasis on definite) collab is gonna happen after the new year. Unless you sell yours before then. 😉👍
@@davidsaylors This one is a keeper for sure. It’s definitely more of a David style lens than a Phil style lens, but I really like it and the results I’ve gotten with it so far.
I have this lens for the Canon M6 Mark II. Big fan of TTArtisans. I am also in the Chattanooga area! Great review!
Thank you, Zach! I just ordered their 23 mm 1.4. It should arrive sometime next week.
Can’t wait for the review 👍
I have the Nikon zfc and bought TT ARTISAN 17 mm f 1.4 and I love this lense, I want get the 35 mm f1.4
I really like this 35 but I also bought the 23 and I’m not very fond of it.
I had my eye on this lense. I'm a beginner photographer with a interest in street photography so far and maybe do some portraits as well. Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it. Keep shooting bro.
Thank you!
@@PhilThachyour welcome
Nice video Phil it's great to see an affordable lens for nikon z for a change the nikon z s line lenes are very expensive
I agree! The Z glass is really high especially the S line Z glass. Thank you, Keith!
The lens looks great on the Zfc and
that is an incredible price. To top it all of it looks like a great lens. The photos from look great.
At this price, I was really expecting the lens to be junk but I was very pleasantly surprised. I think David is very happy with his as well.
@@PhilThach He is very happy and the people at the Leica store were amazed how smooth it focus and shifted.
@@cubanrum That's awesome!
Looks like a nice lens for only 70 bucks. It’s design reminds me of some of my small Olympus primes.
It is certainly the cheapest news lens I've ever purchased! I'd like to see those Olympus primes at some point.
how to change magnify & assign to other dial/button?
Bonjour Phil.
Hi Phil. You took some really nice photographs. Just how do TTArtisan make lenses this good so cheap?
Thanks, Clare. I honestly don't know how they produced such a nice little lens for such a reasonable price.
Great video, thanks. I’m new to photography. I’ve just bought a z50 and want to learn travel, street photo or landscape shooting with manual lens. Would you recommend TTartisan 50mm or 35mm? Should I also buy a filter or hood? Any advice? Thank you.
Thank you! The 35 is the most versatile. I didn't get a hood for my 35 but either way will be fine.
@@PhilThach thanks, Phil.
Do you calculate the distance between you and your subject when using f1.4 or you leave it at infinity?
I focus manually using the EVF. I do not use zone focus.
Bonjour Phil pour mon z 50 cette objectif serait il parfait?Merci
Oui, cet objectif fonctionnerait avec le Z50
@@PhilThach OK Merci pour votre réponse
Phil, I am with you; I am an auto focus shooter. Even though this lens is inexpensive, I will not be purchasing it.
That's completely understandable, Cesar. I prefer auto-focus in most situations too. Thanks for watching!
👍👍👍
