That was cool of him to give props to Kendall and Fishbone. Billy has worked with some amazing artist, and he to is an amazing artist but he still found it in his heart to mention Fishbone as one of his humble beginnings. Much props to Billy.

Billy’s talking voice always makes me laugh
Not because I’m laughing at him at all
    Quite the contrary
It’s just when you hear his harmonies on APC and his ashes divide vocals they are drastically different IMO a very underrated vocalist Without a shadow of a doubt
As a guitarist I’d say He’s a very cerebral musician, possibly coming from a similar place as Jerry Cantrell and Robin Finck in terms of how he uses his instrument as an extension of his emotional expression...his leads are so whimsical and interesting, you can hear the guy has shred in him but he uses that dexterity to tell a deeper story with his lead parts...I mean Christ, his main parts in the hollow is one long tapestry of guitar solos that are placed in the track as more of a colour as opposed to the central image of the piece
Allot of restraint and a ton of expression in his playing style
I avoid shredding and showboating on my music because of the likes of billy howerdel and Jerry Cantrell, you can paint a masterpiece with the correct colours...it’s not about how photorealistic or ‘technically impressive’ the image is.

That’s a very well said description of Billy as a guitarist, and I love the Jerry Cantrell reference, aka The Riff Lord
