I get a feeling that Maynard and Adam butt heads a lot. But I think Adam is what makes Tool special. Gotta put up with him. Of course the other 3 guys are incredible, but Adam brings it to a whole other level. APC is amazing, but it’s not Tool level amazing. Danny is probably of of best rock drummers ever, but look at his other projects (Pygmy, Volto, etc). Same style drumming but isn’t nearly as special as his involvement in Tool is. Justin is incredible but he seems a little more diplomatic. Tool is Adam’s baby, seems like everything he wants to release has to have a level of perfection to it. Its simple...Famous people like movie stars/TV stars/musicians make a TON of money but here's the thing...THEY HAVE A TON OF FREE TIME.Movie stars do 2, maybe 3 films a year.Tv actors shoot for about 6 to 8 months maybe. Musicans tour 6 plus months out of the year.
Ehh, tv /movies they get good money yeah but not really a lot of free time at all unless they're taking a break AKA not working. And not working means potentially losing traction as a celebrity, so they tend to keep working.. And if you consider all the work that goes into it, it's crazy. Unpaid pre-audition practice for the upcoming auditions, then countless auditions where you're just waiting to go in and say your lines before you get hired and paid. Constant communication/meetings/phone calls/skyping with your agent/manager/assistant/director/producer/photographer/accountant/etc. Massive amounts of reading/rereading/rehearsals/group table reads and practicing lines over and over and over and over, and possibly some line/scene/character changes that require a bit of relearning something about a character and more rereading and more rehearsal. Sitting in a chair for sometimes minutes usually hours every day doing makeup/prosthetics and doing dress/wardrobe. All the time spent just sitting and waiting - flights/driving to shooting locations/staying in trailers/hotels on location away from your home and family bc they have their own lives maybe their own jobs or are in school, sometimes staying out of state/country for months at a time unless your flying home every weekend, in that case lots of time spent in security then waiting to board then waiting to fly. Doing press/interviews/events/meet and greets/charities/dinners/photo shoots/commercials/advertisements/etc. Being stopped by fans constantly for autographs/pictures/etc, for no pay of course. And then getting called back in for emergency reshoots when you think a job is done, hope you weren't busy. Oh, and if you get lucky and strike gold with a successful movie franchise or TV series - say hello to multiple years long contractual obligations that control how you live OUTSIDE of work bc you need to keep looking like your character when it's time to film and say goodbye to even more or your free time! And after allll of this - any bit of free time these people have left is photographed and recorded by fans/paparazzi and put online to be studied and critiqued to death. Yeahh, I'll keep my average 9 to 5 job and my anonymity.

Triple A actors don't do rogan... why would they!!!
@@AztroZ-cz5js funny u say that Jamie fox was on Joe Rogan.
@@tumekekodda9767 yeah but jamie fox isn't at the level of keanu... BTW jamie is also a comedian ... AAA actors dont need that atention anymore.. specially keanu... the dude still rides de Bus... go figure
@@AztroZ-cz5js your superkool bro. Teach me.
@@tumekekodda9767 i will my little grasshoper hahahaha
Everyone who counts likes you Maynard, you and your bands and your talent is unquestionable imo. You and Chris Cornell where the reasons I do cover music and ever got the stones to get on stage, and APC helped me stay sane during my time in the Navy. I am likely too poor to meet you in person, but would like to give you my thanks and am looking foreward to buying your new TOOL release.
Some just like to know they are appreciated I figure.
appreciate your service!
I know the peices fit
I’m just talking out my ass, pay no attention.
Always thought the same. VERY worried about new album though :(
I have to admonish myself. I came on here with a preconceived notion of what this man was going to be like, based on the serious nature of his music. I mistakenly thought he’d be another self-important wind-bag that has lost site of everyday life. I’m very glad (and a little ashamed) to say I was wrong. He truly seems like a sincere, intelligent and truly compassionate person.
Lesson learned.
Pat yourself on the back while you’re at it. It takes a grown ass adult to admit something like that. Especially on a public forum where these keyboard warriors can snipe at you with no foot to mouth repercussions.
Hey man, that’s cool! It’s good to learn and be proven wrong. Admitting you’re wrong about something is so much better than ignorantly doubling down on your original point, which is a big problem these days
Not all successful people are pricks lol. But I relate to that jaded opinion lol
@@cheothegeo2742 it’s not about the success…I know plenty of successful people that are amazing. He just seemed very self-serious, or at least I thought.
TOOL!
Love this dude and his band.
Maynard seems like one of the most down to earth rock stars. Type of dude that if you didnt know that he was who he is .... he would be cool to just hang out with like anyone else.
He actually seems like an egotistical dick
@@jdubthagreat09what? 😆
Why didn’t Maynard lock his phone up before the show?Security should escort him out.
What’s the about??
Absolutely true. He isn't living in the moment now
"I want steak I just don't want it to be meat."
it's not just abuse. creative people are crazy by nature.
Almost born that way
creative people are creative thats it
Well, most creative people experience trauma and the creativity is generally used as an emotional outlet for that trauma.
@@goofygothalien618 i know, it's just not all trauma.
Keenan is an original thinker that's why he and Joe get along so well, mans just needs to let it out no filter
Rogan treating this like Maynard interviewing him and asking about HIS opinions lol
Have you ever listened to the new tool album while tripping on DMT??
Only in my Sensory Deprivation Tank, you should try it :)
Have you ever listened to the new tool album while driving a Tesla in ludicrous mode while tripping on DMT?
No cause the new tool album aint out yet
@@joafrikaans59 _No cause the new tool album aint out yet_
That isn't the new Tool album. It won't be until it's released. We got the new Tool album a long time ago.
You would know this if you listened to the new Tool album while tripping on DMT.
See if you can pull that up Jamie.
Juan Pieterse have you ever listened to the new tool album while ice fishing in Siberia ass naked during a DMT trip?
Jamie pull that up.
Metal Scene made Tool Huge. Just as soon as they got big, they turned their back on the scene. They are basically irrelevant now
They've writen enough masterpieces to go down in rock history. I'm sure they don't really care. They're all retirement age and made it.
Get Trent Reznor!
Ohh so somebody in the band is holding up everybody else 😂
Joe really needs to get Trent Reznor on the show
Its simple...Famous people like movie stars/TV stars/musicians make a TON of money but here's the thing...THEY HAVE A TON OF FREE TIME.Movie stars do 2, maybe 3 films a year.Tv actors shoot for about 6 to 8 months maybe.

Humans are MUCH easier as to getting a leash put on them......
Basically admitting how full of himself he/they are. I appreciate the honesty but I can't say it's likable.
Hey Joe...Do you not know of that Maynard could be exactly what you're talking about...I've never heard him open up about his past, never seen anything about him talking about it... but have seen concerts where something is not right... Seems like and outlet for someone who has gone through exactly what you speaking on
I think we're talking about a wrinkle in time..
What would $500 million dollars do to someone?
I guess we'll see.
Who the hell is Mike?
They got everybody looking at them, talking about them, thinking about them....and they just wanna go to 7\11 for a slurpee, but they can't. That would drive me batty too

A true artist doesn’t want his passion corrupted by others
Andy McCoy May be true, but if you’re in a band that attitude would get in the way an awful lot. You have 3-4 others to deal with
Adam Jones should comprise just due to his guitar playing.
It's the same riff...
I'm really fucked up and I'm not even famous.....
Way to much skin on these guys. They need some beards to cover that up.
I really like the bald guy in Americans Got Talent.
Non of that shit ever works out for a good reason I'm sure.....
You have to check yourself, before you wreck yourself
Maynard at last tool concert I went to:
Lights go out
‘Good Evening’
Band plays 2 hours of non stop jamming.
‘Welp, that’s it’
Band Plays aenima.
Lights come on
My last Tool concert as well. And I pretty much cried when they actually did play more after they were done, because I've seen them 3 times before this last one and they normally don't. Anemia as the last song was a cherry on top because it's my absolute favorite and was the perfect way to end the night for me. Best concert ever.
Were Maynard's interviews really deleted from youtube?
It says private now. I was just looking for it too :(
Check out Spotify. It's free.
And Maynard In my opinion... SORT OF... But not really, BUT KINDA predicted the virus.
Like he didn't really, but if you go watch the episode he does start talking about some really disturbing things including some sort of natural order occuring that will either cut down our specie's numbers tremendously or make us go extinct.
Like, I really think he could feel that something extremely intense was coming our way or something like that.
I wonder why it got private. I kind of pissed I wanted to watch it
Have Riley Reid on.
Shounak Tadvi ihope it happens
