The Toyota 4Runner is one of the best selling Toyota SUVs & I really like its rugged looks. It is very road worthy.

I love the retro-ness of the 4Runner, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited for the next generation. Materials and features are just behind the times, especially as you get into more expensive trims. Also the 4.0L V6 paired to a 5 speed is just ancient

This is the best review of 4Runners I have seen. Thank you.

I absolutely love this vehicle. It is absolutely engineered for reliability, despite not having the bells and whistles of a Highlander.
My only desire is to watch Lexus diverge their GX series SUV into two variants; one with the original 4.6 litre V8 for high torque applications, and another with the same 4.0 V6 found in the 4Runner for better fuel economy.

I've heard that the 2020 will be getting a be infotainment system. I am trying to wait for it to see how I like it as Android Auto would be nice to have but it's not a deal breaker.

The 4-Runner needs a subtle refresh with additions of Apple CarPlay/Android Auto (we know its coming in 2020) but the radio needs to fill out the area in the dashboard. Also think they need to reconfigure the cup holders plus the instrument cluster needs a new look. Thanks for sharing guys, did you happen to notice if it has footwell lighting?

    • @CarConfections

Thanks! Can't say we noticed any footwell lighting since it was sunny out (great for a change!)

Really good review! I like the detailed description of what has change! 👍
For those who are wondering why Toyota is taking too long to update 4Runner. Unlike Camry and Rav4, where competition is fierce, there isn't much to compete against in this segment.

@@CarConfections thanks you..so not to much of a change on it but I all so heard that the Toyota Safety package is going to be added do you and if the 2020 will have the power lift tail or will it be the same as the 2019

I have always been a fan of this generation 4Runner. However, at this point I can't accept any excuse for why Toyota refuses to ad TSSP, especially at this price point and considering the fact that you're offering on the smallest SUV in the lineup (Rav 4), not to mention the absence of a power liftgate.

this just drives like a tundra now. Used to be like the tacoma. feel like its a 1794 edition nightshade to me. Like if you are watching this in 2020 and/ or you agree.

Very outdated vehicle, No led's and very basic and 2012-ish looking interior. Toyota really needs to step up there game and take notes from there competitors. And this is the top of the line trim and still no pwr tailgate or no LEDs! Wow.
    Edit: Thanks for 4 likes!

31st comment!! Overall I'm truly disappointed in Toyota's laziness when it comes to their SUV and Trucks... The Tacoma, Tundra, Seqoua and 4runner are blatantly old.

Andrew Langellier I would say they are aware of how dated some of their platforms are. They don’t want to mess with success too much.

What is sticker? Give you $8500 less than sticker. Let me know.

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  5 лет назад

Sticker is a term referring to the MSRP (or price the manufacturer recommends selling the vehicle at). For this particular 4Runner, the "sticker" was $47,295. If they're giving you $8500 below sticker you'd be looking at a price of $38,795. Sticker includes the base price and any options that the vehicle has on it that make it cost more. Hope that helps!

Still have it? I will give you $40,000. Let me know.
