      That’s why I use the black labels with a chalk marker. Can get both at the dollar tree.

      I always do a sample print on a letter-sized sheet of paper. Then, you can hold it up to the light with the label sheet in front to verify the placement of the label texts.

    • @biglivinglittlefootprint

    For my holiday decorations, I use QR codes on the bins. The QR codes link to a list that tells me exactly what is in the bin. I use a lot of clear bins so I can see most of what is in there but for my older bins that aren’t clear this is very helpful.
    I also painted the inside doors of cabinets with chalkboard paint. Then I can keep an inventory of my pantry & overstock.

    A great way to get labels off jars is to use hand sanitiser. It also works for getting ink and permanent marker of acrylic and plastic. I think my daughter would throw a fit if I used peanut butter for label removal. Great tips there. Thanks.

    • @biglivinglittlefootprint
      @biglivinglittlefootprint  Год назад +3

      Can honestly say I haven't tried hand sanitizer! Haha our kid is attached to peanut butter too but doesn't seem to mind 😂 Glad you found the tips helpful! ~Amanda

    • @mailleweaver
      @mailleweaver Год назад +9

      It's the oil in the peanut butter that makes it work -- and alcohol in the hand sanitizer. Oil and alcohol act as solvents for the adhesive. Oils have the benefit of not evaporating like alcohol does, so it's easier to let soak. If you'd like to make less mess than using peanut butter, then just rub a bit of oil on the adhesive instead of smearing peanut butter everywhere. Pretty much any cooking oil will work; there's no need to get peanut oil specifically. Oil to remove the adhesive, soap to remove the oil, water to remove the soap, and evaporation to remove the water.
      I just gave this same tip to my sister for removing assembly stickers from a piece of flat-pack furniture she recently assembled. She reported back that it worked a treat.

    • @miaschu8175
      @miaschu8175 Год назад +2

      Vinegar also works to get sticky stuff off, as well as removing limescale. I buy white vinegar specifically for cleaning, as it does so many different tasks in the home. It's cheap and it's natural.

    Chickens are great, and your fluffy ones are so cute! Yay for eggs! I had a chicken that I claimed from my grandma’s chickens, because she was the least afraid of me. I painted her nails so I could tell which one she was. Sadly she got scratched on a nail that was sticking out of the greenhouse, and we didn’t notice until she started limping. We ended up having chicken soup shortly after that. I made a poem about it for English class, but didn’t say the title until the end, and everyone thought the poem was about eating my daughter, lol!😳😅

      Yes, totally agree that plywood banding can give a project that final quality finish! Most of the DIY organization projects here in this video were scrap projects with the goal of using what we had on-hand and not buying anything. No edge banding on hand for this time 😅🤣 Thanks! ~Amanda

    ok garage how do you use studs if your garage is cinderblock??

    • @biglivinglittlefootprint
      @biglivinglittlefootprint  Год назад

      If your garage is cinder block then you can use masonry drill bits to drill holes wherever you need them and then use masonry anchors and screws to hang your pieces. It's a little more work than sheetrock and studs but you do have more flexibility in where you put your holes. Best of luck!

    I haven’t ever has a problem, using laser and ink jet. Be sure you have the label absolutely straight. Check then check again.

      @biglivinglittlefootprint  Год назад

      Yeah we did check lots but we recently found out our printer automatically adds margins and offsets things even when you tell it to use the labels specific margins. Can't figure out how to get it to stop doing it 🤷‍♀️ oh well!

    Thank you for the top with water bottles storage.. Stolen! .. a serious question though - are you happy with your spices organisation? To me it looks..well, sub-par , especially comparing to some other tips you've showed :-) Yet, I haven't found a good solution yet.. :-( ..so I kind of complaining, but I don't have solution either. Mind me - I am tlaking fro ma cook position

      Glad you like the water bottle storage tip! Yes, we love the spice organizer because we designed it specifically for ourselves. We love not having to move other spices out of the way and having it rotate is a game-changer for us. Spice organization is never easy and very subjective I feel. Sorry to hear you're struggling, but good luck finding what works for you! ~Amanda

    A great stud joke, but the stud urgently needs to find a table saw safety course: else you will be looking for fingers all over the workshop floor. Subbed for more great videos. All the best. 🙂

    The stud finder test is mandatory every time a man turns one on. If it doesn't detect us then it's obviously defective.
