Now a serious question….Do you guys ever have trouble getting the printer labels to print out correctly? I think ours hates us…Let us know in the comments below!
That’s why I use the black labels with a chalk marker. Can get both at the dollar tree.
@@dalemakowski4578 Yes, that would be a great solution! Except where our toddler can reach...then it'd totally be erased 🤣
I always do a sample print on a letter-sized sheet of paper. Then, you can hold it up to the light with the label sheet in front to verify the placement of the label texts.
Yes definitely done that and it helps! Our printer is just a little screwy and adds extra margin even when you tell it not to 🫠 ~Amanda
I use a label
Maker. I’m not really good using my printer for labels either
For my holiday decorations, I use QR codes on the bins. The QR codes link to a list that tells me exactly what is in the bin. I use a lot of clear bins so I can see most of what is in there but for my older bins that aren’t clear this is very helpful.
I also painted the inside doors of cabinets with chalkboard paint. Then I can keep an inventory of my pantry & overstock.
Thanks for sharing!! I've never heard of the QR code tip. ~Amanda
These are both excellent tips
A great way to get labels off jars is to use hand sanitiser. It also works for getting ink and permanent marker of acrylic and plastic. I think my daughter would throw a fit if I used peanut butter for label removal. Great tips there. Thanks.
Can honestly say I haven't tried hand sanitizer! Haha our kid is attached to peanut butter too but doesn't seem to mind 😂 Glad you found the tips helpful! ~Amanda
It's the oil in the peanut butter that makes it work -- and alcohol in the hand sanitizer. Oil and alcohol act as solvents for the adhesive. Oils have the benefit of not evaporating like alcohol does, so it's easier to let soak. If you'd like to make less mess than using peanut butter, then just rub a bit of oil on the adhesive instead of smearing peanut butter everywhere. Pretty much any cooking oil will work; there's no need to get peanut oil specifically. Oil to remove the adhesive, soap to remove the oil, water to remove the soap, and evaporation to remove the water.
I just gave this same tip to my sister for removing assembly stickers from a piece of flat-pack furniture she recently assembled. She reported back that it worked a treat.
Vinegar also works to get sticky stuff off, as well as removing limescale. I buy white vinegar specifically for cleaning, as it does so many different tasks in the home. It's cheap and it's natural.
One at a time! I’ve gone crazy many times. Initially had to do the big purge. Secondly admitted I couldn’t go next step alone. A ways to go, but now I can “see” the horizon, conquering each corner and shelf, and freeing myself from being owned.
Yes, definitely taking it one area at a time helps and doing it with someone else too! It is very freeing to get organized and declutter, and then consume less so it stays organized. ~Amanda
At the beginning when the hand appears and turns the light on and off, that slays me.
Low budget filming means working with what we got lol 😆 😂
The husband’s disappointment when the stud finder doesn’t choose him.😂You guys are a riot! Great acting, and thanks for the tips!
Haha "acting" 🤣 glad others enjoy our silliness! He's pretty sure the stud finder is broken 😅 Glad you enjoyed the tips, too! ~Amanda
Your videos are very well organized and th humor is adorable!
Thanks! We try! 😄
I like how you use everything you already have. Good and practice and everyone can do it. Thank you!

You two are hilarious! Thanks for the tips and the laughs 😋 my husband and I have used the stud finder in a similar matter!
Haha, I'm glad someone else besides us finds us funny 😆 Glad you enjoyed the video and tips! ~Amanda
Did you make the floating shelves in your kitchen?
Also, to remove labels, just heat them up with your blow dryer and they'll come right off, easily and cleanly. It's much faster and you can save your peanut butter for eating.
We sure did! You can read about the process and see the hardware we used on our blog. www.biglivinglittlefootprint.com/diy-floating-shelves-wood-shelves-for-kitchen/
Unfortunately, we did that project before we started filming RUclips videos, but maybe if there is enough interest we will recreate it 😀
Thanks for the tip! We'll give that a shot. Do you find that it gets all of the glue residue off or does it still leave some behind?
@@florencecousin5577 Yeah we've only got that to work sometimes on some adhesives, but glad to know it works for other people!
@@biglivinglittlefootprint I vote yes, please and thank you 😊
@@jodyyounger4569 Thanks for the vote towards recreating the live edge wood floating shelves! Means I can convince the hubby to let us buy more beautiful lumber to build more haha 🤣🤣 ~Amanda

What a charming video. Thank you for reminding me about French cleats. Absolutely gotta make some
Thanks! Yes, French cleats are such an easy awesome solution 🙌
Some great tips to use, thank you for sharing
You are so welcome! ~Amanda
Chickens are great, and your fluffy ones are so cute! Yay for eggs! I had a chicken that I claimed from my grandma’s chickens, because she was the least afraid of me. I painted her nails so I could tell which one she was. Sadly she got scratched on a nail that was sticking out of the greenhouse, and we didn’t notice until she started limping. We ended up having chicken soup shortly after that. I made a poem about it for English class, but didn’t say the title until the end, and everyone thought the poem was about eating my daughter, lol!😳😅
Haha not sure where chickens came from, but our puppies are definitely fluffy! ~Amanda
Thanks for sharing these wonderful ideas. I love what you did with the tree branches. My dad used to take us on nature walks and we’d come back with all kinds of d of items. Then he’d help us turn the trash to treasure. I’m about at Witt’s end. I’m trying to declutter my house after being laid up getting over serious fractures I. Up and running but not near as fast as I used to. I’m really enjoying your videos. I wish you lived. Lose enough. I’d pay you to build me shelves everywhere. Janice IN TN
Thanks! Glad these were helpful for you and good luck decluttering! Love turning things from nature into useful but beautiful things like the tree branch. ~Amanda
The spice organizer is a great idea. Would be easy enough to make one out of scrap wood too.
Thanks! Yes, use what you have to DIY and make it 🙌 ~Amanda
Love the branch for jewelry
Thanks! I love adding a touch of nature inside and making it functional too ~Amanda
The lightbulb moment hahaha😂
Love a good lightbulb moment 💡😆 ~Amanda

all of this is great but the labels at the end really made my day.

Love pull out organizers.
Definitely one of our favorite solutions 😍 ~Amanda
i think you might have the sharpest table saw blade I've ever seen, doesn't even need to spin to cut those boards
I do appreciate the care for showing tablesaw safety, even if it isn't actually running.
Thanks! Didn't want anyone coming after us for being goofy with the table saw even when it's not running 😅
Wow… what a cute and fun video.
Thanks! ~Amanda
Aww. Y’all are cute!
Yes we are! 🤣
I have this easy and convenient method called "Ignoring it and let future self deal with it", works everytime
On a serious note, great tips will definitely try some of them.
Haha you do you 🤣 thanks and hope you try a few someday 😉 ~Amanda
Wow!!! Nice work…especially ❤️ The bedroom w floating shelves!!!
Plus, may need to replace that stud finder!! It missed one!!! 😁
@gemmasing6386 haha totally need to replace the stud finder 😉 thanks we loved designing and making the headboard with floating shelves! We made a whole video on it haha 😅❤️ ~Amanda
@@biglivinglittlefootprint Definitely, I will check it out!! And the others!!
Your spice organizer is glorious!
Thanks, we love it! There's a link in the description to the free 3D printer design file and you can always get a company to print it for you if you don't own a 3D printer.
Superb spice organizer! Thanks for the design and video!
@@javannajones3363 Of course! Glad you enjoyed it and it was helpful! ~ Amanda
First of all, I think you may have a faulty stud finder. As for the rest of the tips, holy crap you just resolved YEARS of issues that I have had with trying to organize my Art Studio. The French Cleat thing looks amazingly useful. I might try it on my wall for art and tools. Also, the custom boxes measured to fit the space/items needed for each project will come in handy too. Anyway, thank you to this lovely couple for sharing their awesomeness. Cheers!
Haha yeah it's definitely a faulty stud finder 😉 It makes my day to hear this was so useful for you! I love the idea of using the French cleat system for organizing supplies in your art studio too. Might need to try that on some of our art supplies too! Good luck and hope you make some some awesome custom organizers! ~Amanda

For me (a recovering semi-hoarder) my first organizational step is to evaluate what I can get rid of. Do I use it? Do I love it? Does it spark joy? Do I already have 5 other versions of it?
Yup definitely making a plan, analyzing, and evaluating what you have and don't need is the best first step to organization 🙌 ~Amanda
Great footage
Best way to get labels off, which works in 5 to 10mins is Coconut oil or essential oils
Works amazing ❤
That sometimes works for us if we have them on hand. We always have peanut butter on hand with a toddler 🤣😅 ~Amanda
Hi, I enjoyed watching your video. This is the first time I watch it. Your son stole the show. If the labels had a stronger adhesive, you would be in serious trouble since he put it on your eyebrows. I was laughing. Really funny. He is smart. Maybe he did it to teach you and your husband a lesson.
He steals the show most of the time! Yeah, wasn't worried about my eyebrows as those labels were definitely not sticky at that point 🤣 Glad you enjoyed it! ~Amanda
The stud check :)
Always got to check for studs 😉 ~Amanda
Very well made video! Kudos. You guys had some fun and it shows. Sound could be improved - but that's just nitpicking. Keep em coming. New subscriber.
Thanks, got to have fun otherwise we'd get bored 🤣 Just did a new upload today and welcome to the community!
Nice video
Thanks!
Just came across ur channel. U guys are super cute ☺️
Aww thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! ~Amanda
Some blank label companies have templates online for printing within the diecut.
Yeah the one we used did but it didn't work for us. Our printer randomly adds margins so that's the problem 🤪 thanks for the tip! ~Amanda
shoe cartons make great storage organizers
Yes 🙌 definitely have used shoe boxes before! ~Amanda
Use a hair dryer to heat up and remove the labels ...it melts/softens the glue, allowing them to peel right off. 👍
Thanks for sharing! I know that works for some people. I've tried that and sometimes it just makes the glue worse and stickier for me. Plus I don't even own a hair dryer anymore! I air dry my hair all the time now after the last one died 🤣 ~ Amanda
I cannot seem to locate the files for the spice rack. Do you still have available?
Hi! It's linked in the description, but I also linked below for you. They 3D printer files we made available for download on Thingiverse.

Have you considered edge banding for your plywood projects. it is super cheap and easy to apply and is that 1% of time on a project that feels like it adds 25% to fit and finish.
Yes, totally agree that plywood banding can give a project that final quality finish! Most of the DIY organization projects here in this video were scrap projects with the goal of using what we had on-hand and not buying anything. No edge banding on hand for this time 😅🤣 Thanks! ~Amanda
ok garage how do you use studs if your garage is cinderblock??
If your garage is cinder block then you can use masonry drill bits to drill holes wherever you need them and then use masonry anchors and screws to hang your pieces. It's a little more work than sheetrock and studs but you do have more flexibility in where you put your holes. Best of luck!
-Tyler
@4:15 😍😍😁😁🤣🤣
I haven’t ever has a problem, using laser and ink jet. Be sure you have the label absolutely straight. Check then check again.
Yeah we did check lots but we recently found out our printer automatically adds margins and offsets things even when you tell it to use the labels specific margins. Can't figure out how to get it to stop doing it 🤷♀️ oh well!
Thank you for wearing eye protection while using the saw.... SAFETY FIRST!! Excellent video thanks you two!! 🙂🙂
Yes, always safety first! Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoyed it! - Amanda
Thank you for the top with water bottles storage.. Stolen! .. a serious question though - are you happy with your spices organisation? To me it looks..well, sub-par , especially comparing to some other tips you've showed :-) Yet, I haven't found a good solution yet.. :-( ..so I kind of complaining, but I don't have solution either. Mind me - I am tlaking fro ma cook position
Glad you like the water bottle storage tip! Yes, we love the spice organizer because we designed it specifically for ourselves. We love not having to move other spices out of the way and having it rotate is a game-changer for us. Spice organization is never easy and very subjective I feel. Sorry to hear you're struggling, but good luck finding what works for you! ~Amanda
A great stud joke, but the stud urgently needs to find a table saw safety course: else you will be looking for fingers all over the workshop floor. Subbed for more great videos. All the best. 🙂
Dramatic recreations and camera angles can be deceptive, but thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
The stud finder test is mandatory every time a man turns one on. If it doesn't detect us then it's obviously defective.
It was obviously defective 🤣 ~Amanda
38 seconds in and I have to watch just for the intro production.
Haha I'm glad and hope the rest of the video provided you value too! ~Amanda
Its the bad acting for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gotta have fun while doing it! 🤣 ~Amanda

Awesome, welcome!
The stud finder is clearly broken.
Agreed, it's definitely broken 🤣
For the bonus tip I'd use hot glue.
Definitely another option instead of staples!
Save the Peanut Butter ❤ try solid vegetable oil, is that politically correct? (crisco)😅
Haha yeah we've tried a lot of things and they just dont always work on every adhesive. But peanut butter works for us every time 😆 do what works for you I say ❤️ ~Amanda
What I need to organise my space?
A husband like him who knows how to help his wife. Simple.
Teamwork is helpful it's true
A lot of the DIY projects are based on the assumption that you have the tools and the room to work in. Not everyone does.
Yes, that's true and we know that. That's why we try to offer a range of tips here. Work with what you got tho! 😊 ~Amanda

Strange. It sounds fine when I listen to it on my phone or computer. What kind of device are you using and what part sounds off?

Sorry, not even sure what you're referring to 😅 ~Amanda
@@biglivinglittlefootprint 😉
Thanks, that was useless. You only need workshop, tools, and plenty of wood laying around.
Yes, some tips require having scraps and some tools, but others do not and more about using what you have and repurposing it. ~Amanda
