In my eyes there is NOTHING awkward about the front of this car. The very best looking small SUV on the market right now.
I love the child-like wonder of Henry’s videos. There’s nothing splashy or “eye-catching” about the videography or bombastic about the presentation. It’s just pleasant and quirky while being accessible and beautiful.
As always Henry, never change. :)
I'm not a fan of crossovers in the slightest, but Mr Catchpole makes it sound more appealing. He really is one of the best in the business.
Agreed.
Well it's not a crossover, it's a compact hatchback like the GTI or Mazda3 isn't it? It doesn't look like the size of a RAV4 or nissan Rogue. We don't get those in the US, so I am not sure
@@TheTkpham in terms of cars here in the UK I think it counts as a crossover. Could be mistaken thought.
@@kyleholloway3470 I'd class is as a crossover. The Fiesta is the compact hatchback, the Focus the hatchback.
@@resnonverba137 compact crossover
Henry Catchpole makes these videos great
He is a great host, and the cinimatics are amazing.
It doesn’t matter what HC is reviewing, I just click and listen with a smile.
The production and cinematic value of the videos makes me watch even if I have little interest in the car.. I also like the sound of the tuned 3 cylinder engine
*1.5😊
If Ford put an AWD system in this... Think about that... this would make it so much better, and different from an inflated Fiesta
I was thinking about that too. It’s still fwd take the fiesta st instead😂 barely less room
AWD will make it less roomy in the back, will add too much weight, which.. will hamper the 200 ps this car has.. I really believe AWD will ruin this car. FWD is perfect for this sort of mini SUV.
@@stevendufour but with the focus st engine
And a W16 QUAD TURBO
What a beautiful video! The good content keeps on coming from Carfection and it’s the beauty of RUclips that such content is available for free. Keep up the good work guys
Also, what happened to history teacher’s Puma Henry?
That song @ 1:05 has introduced me to a genre of music I never know existed. Big up to the editor for having such good taste

Can you tell me the name of the track?

what? generic uplifting indie pop?
Opening scene was bloody brilliant Henry, absolutely marvelous!
... and you put a smile on so many faces, Henry. Bravo, Carfection. Masters at work. What beauty.
The production of these carfection reviews is getting very good indeed. The research, writing, cinematography, audio etc are at a super high level now. Well done guys!
Henry & Carfection, always coming out with these beautiful beautiful videos ... ✨❤️
The best obtainable proposition for a daily that I've seen in forever.
It looks good, has got the practicality, yet, still sounds decent and can put a smile on yo face!
Have your weekend toy for the weekend. But this, this seems a pretty good week day ride if not single car garage material!
Best introduction ever! Thanks Henry 👍🏻 Pure Gold
Love the little bits of automotive history, knew there was going to be something about the canal!
Love carfection, great quality factual and fun films 👌 Nice little ripper that ST too 😁
Beautiful car, it's practical,it's quick ,it looks amazing and sounds great, an that green is gorgeous, it's a car that does all in my eyes, I've just ordered brand new one in mean green, delivery expected sept,/October this year, can't wait , definitely the best looking small SUV from every angle, good job ford an great review cheers 👌👌👍🏴
Henry, your work is beyond reproach. Marvellous
Henry I just love watching your videos, frankly I could watch any of your videos all the time, you make any video a pleasure to watch, I just love them all.
Top notch review as always, keep it up carfection
what an awesome into piece to camera! Framing, focus, delivery, timing ..... well done!
Yet another beautiful review!!
Great video, Henry is the best car reviewer on RUclips, hands down.
Henry's videos always put a smile on my face 🙂
Excellent content, great review style and quality production. 👍
I had a Puma Sport (not the ST) as a courtesy car last service. It was impressive!
dang this is a cinematography tutorial video. This is how you film someone reviewing a car! Marvelous!
Such a nice video! Thanks
Beautiful shots as always, and a enjoyably intro.
I really don't like these types of cars, but OK it still got buttons pedals and a nice sound !
already own the car but its always nice to get Catchpole's take on it! Going from a mk8 Fiesta ST-2 to the Puma, the day to day is significantly nicer in the latter. All the kit you'd ever need and a very capable car when you want to have fun.
Indeed but I just can't get past the look. How could they make such a nice looking fiesta to turn it into this.
Have you considered focus st mk4?I think interesting to see 3 compare to each other
@@steve-k.91 focus is well beyond what I can afford unfortunately. In Belgium you have to pay over 5000€ to put it on the road then you have yearly taxes on top of that big tax. It is already 2500 for a fiesta by the way...
@@TheBlackD Its all personal preference ultimately. Mine's magnetic grey and its a much better colour for it. More subtle and the black details contrast really well.
@@steve-k.91 I did consider the Focus. Had a drive of it too but it's too expensive to run as a daily. This Puma is a lot cheaper to insure and only a bit more to run on petrol. The Focus would be like £200 a month in fuel alone haha
Great review. 👍
How good can a Ford Puma ST review really be? Really damn good if you take it to Carfection and Henry Catchpole, aka the best in the business.
Excellent video. Pure professionalism. Editing and content. Also when are car snobs going to give Ford credit where credit is due? Be it Fiesta, Focus or indeed Puma all fantastic cars. Stay Safe.
Great video Henry, completely agree with the three cylinder sound and thrum, excellent "vibe" about threes, sixes and twelves... Something of the scorpio about the headlights... we'll leave it there...
This guy is simple honest and direct.. Great review.....I have a puma st. It fits perfectly my life with wife and two kids. Beware of the rattles coming from inside b pillars near the speakers. It can be economical for a performance car. Very happy. Oh....I had the 2016 fiesta st. This one with all the practicality and the tech just makes more sense for a small family.
Hi! Could you please tell me how the ride quality of the Puma ST is compared to the Fiesta ST? My country has really rough roads and I'm concerned about the stiff suspension (currently I drive a Golf GTI which is struggling with the roads).
Another superb video!
Also have a real soft spot for these cars, seen a few on the road and I really like them!
Much better than the bland generic coming out of VW at the moment
Brilliant intro!
Best reviewer if he likes it i'm sold.
I’m quite tall myself. Seeing Henry cramped inside cars makes for a great review for me lol.
Dammit, Ford! I bet there’s three people in America who would want this!
Let's all do our part: call or write Ford US Customer Relationship Center and tell them what their American customers want. If we all contact them, maybe they'll realize it's a profitable business decision to bring the Puma ST 6 spd manual transmission to the US/North American market.
That’s $40,925 USD for a 195HP, FWD based, 3-Cylinder economini-CUV.
Utter Insanity.
Yeah, that's a definite no go. You could have a Mustang GT (base, not premium) with a couple of options for that price. Or you could've gotten a hatchback Focus ST almost fully decked out for around $31,000 when they were still available in the states.
Prices are higher in Europe. The Mustang GT starts at 58k USD in the UK.
@@Drummin003 you simply can't convert UK prices with directly converted ones.
We have taxes, and the general value of good are higher in Europe than USA
@@yeshwantdasari2075 That’s not something that makes sense. Most everything sold in the USA is made outside of it, and as far as I know, the same goes for Europe. Also, it seems that your math is dependent on the product - for example, the new Gordon Murray T.50 sells for a USD equivalent of its GBP within the USA, and likewise for McLaren’s, Aston Martin’s, etc.
It makes me genuinely question how on earth the UK expects to be economically viable over the next couple of decades, as the general inflation is simply astronomical.
@@39PSIOnTheDaily 1 word: taxes
I'm not a fan of SUVs. I do own a Mk7 fiesta st which I love. If I were to have a couple of little sprogs I would definitely get one of these. Low running costs, practical, fold the seats down for tip runs and then take it for a blast down a decent B road on the way home, what's not to like
great review
Wow the cinematography
Fantastic video, as always! Wish we could get the Puma in the U.S.!!
Let's all do our part: call or write Ford US Customer Relationship Center and tell them what their American customers want. If we all contact them, maybe they'll realize it's a profitable business decision to bring the Puma ST 6 spd manual transmission to the US/North American market.
Am i the only one that sees a baby Macan GTS in this?? Really good looking
Especially the rear.
I see it as more of a mini Cayene, there is definitely a likeness
Yep! Mini chartoon-like macan!
I was prepared to be persuaded - Manual box, pokey little engine, decent stereo and then you said "29 and a half thousand pounds"... I had to rewind to check I hadn't misheard! I didn't pay that for my Golf R Estate over 3 years lease and purchase at the end... Think I'll spend £1500 on an original Puma instead...
Ngl seeing one in cement grey recently am quite liking it tbh
God I love this channel
My religious study teacher drove a Volvo 340 GL .... we did live "oop north" though.
He used to give me a lift when seeing me at the bus stop. Good times. :)
Possibly the most hated car on the road, those DAFs.
From the f90 m5 to this car, henry really likes walking like that for the intros
I have the original Ford Racing Puma and it's one of those rare 75 with the original diff (FRP 004), Yes i think you're right, the new one's not as cool but it's not a bad attempt either for a mini suv, looks a fun, compact little thing to chuck about.
As a Fellow FRP owner (#0436) I agree.
They were never going to make a fiesta coupe again and small SUV are the market trend. The new Puma ST looks nice an no doubt modifications will help it look better. 200ps is more than enough for most UK B roads anyway 😁
Is the Puma behind the green SUV in the thumbnail photo?
Side note. Reminds me of my high school environmental science teacher - was a pit crew manager of a stock car team on the weekends lol shout out to mr. Ali
What was that intro song?
Henry is the only person that i could watcg review a small crossover
Driving behind one of these yesterday. The rear indicators are very hard to see when they have their lights on.
nice bibendum reference with the hoodie
You know what, I like this Puma - regardless of the Puma's history!
you clearly watched this video with your eyes closed then
@@danfreemann Nope. I should probably note that I always like the Mk.2 Ford Scorpio's looks; I see some of that in the new Puma's face. I really dislike the grille though, catch the side profile and it looks like a gaggle of catfish fighting for scraps.
Puma's were really great car, but the rust issues caused to have very few left in the roads nowadays, same reason I had to sell mine :/
I really like these especially in that green, great review Harry! Thank you
The “ST” badge on the back looks like an afterthought. Like someone bought it off eBay and just chucked it on.
what brand of shoe is he wearing? looks nice
To me the face of it is actually quite pretty, looks like the fiesta with a 2000s design flavor.
Nice video. When are you going to review Formentor?
Are you sure that it has the adaptive cruise control? Because I don't see the radar and here in Italy we can't get it
Amazing car!
This guy is great Host.
I just purchased Puma ecoboost i was wondering if someone can help me, is there any way to set the lock automatically to lock the car when i leave it parked and unlock it without pressing the key? Thank you
What song plays at the end?
What is that outro song? Love it.
Go season by MILANO

As crossovers go… this is likeable!
It’s cuuuuuute!!!
How do they measure boot capacity? I assume they look at all 3 dimensions and height plays a part? In that case is the boot in the puma really bigger than a focus or is it just taller? A taller boot isn't really a lot of use in the real world.
Ford should have named this "Pumba", it's more suiting to it's proportions. Although the front looks exactly like Kermit the frog in this green color.
Wow I never even knew that the older Ford Racing Puma was a thing! I wish Ford would make a new rear wheel drive turbo four cylinder sport compact coupe for Europe and the US, maybe bring back the Escort name?! That would be awesome!
At this point I wouldn't trust ford to revive the escort name and not make it look horrendous like this thing
But the important question is a new one of these or a second hand vw t-roc r? Vel halo zer peeple’s car yar
What a great conclusion. All through the report I was thinking to myself that there is no way this is as cool as an original Puma, let alone the Racing, but never even considered that it might still be a worthy car. The three pot intrigues me. Immediately I thought of the Daihatsu Charade GTI of the 90's.
And I'm sure we all share the same sentiment with the news of Sabine Schmitz... :o(
Is my RSQ3 as "involving" to drive as an RS3? Maybe not. But as someone who is older than he really wants to be, with a back ravaged by way too many years playing Rugby, it suits me just fine. I like the Puma ST a lot, and will be very interested in one in the near future!
It's an SUV and they've lowered it. I think that says it all really.
@@creamwobbly So it's an SUV. If they were basing it off the Fiesta, it would have the body and chassis of a Fiesta, and be called a Fiesta.
How does it compare to the VW T ROC R ?
Henry making cars I hate, loveable 😩😩
Puma ST or Focus ST? another great video
Always, always immensely enjoyable. Henry could do it with a wheelbarrow.
Wasn't the original Puma designed by Ian Callum? Wonder what else he did...
Great review, although when I seen snow it reminded me more of another of your videos from the USA...
Is that where the Hover Van went thru? The lock at every beginning
Last time i was this early the puma wasn't a SUV
First time seeing a Puma... Is this a mini SUV? For real! Wtf is this?!
How about focus st estate? Practicality on top😍
Beautiful review Henry. Shame its got a blue badge.
Imagine if they rallied this with a retro style livery if some sort!
Really the definition of "hot hatch". Well done, Ford.
Only Henry could manage to get me interested in a Ford Puma tbh
This color looks like a rip-off of Dodge's Snakeskin Green, huh.
Also, that bloke getting 1 of 75 Ford Racing Pumas with an optional LSD is one cool history teacher.
When did 200bhp become "not very much"? Pretty sure the Racing Puma would quickly become a dot in this frog's rear view mirror. I would personally buy the Fiesta any day of the week (and I did), but I can see the appeal of this to some people. Ford certainly put the effort in.
I was thinking about thisbcar
I thought there might be Henry in the canal for a minute
My first impression was “look honey I shrunk our Cayenne”
I have a Fiesta ST Mk8, i actually want to try a Puma ST, many people say that it is actually better to drive
4:24
No adaptive cruise control on ST.
A great vid again... I don't get why they called it a Puma! Is it not a small suv , rather than a 2 door coupe... I don't get it... Why give a different type of car the same name? The Couger too...Kuger? ...
Hyundai kona n 2021, better than the Ford puma st???
