Dude the balls you have to do that is legit! Nice job.
I've got every single job this way.... For me it's more difficult to write a letter and than to do this...
i’ve watched this video before going to porsche dealership tomorrow wish me luck

Yo chase, didnt think I'd see you here!
' In the morning while People drink coffee, WE DRINK REJECTION ! ' - Best sales quote till date.
You guys made $440 doing a couple cars in one day while I was literally a car photographer for Toyota taking 30-40 cars out and making $12 an hour every day, for two years, doing exactly what you did. Shooting cars for what they are. Just goes to show that there’s always a better opportunity out there. I reckon if I would’ve done what you did, walking into peoples shops, every day, I could’ve made so much more money for 85% less work. I encourage everyone else to double check what you do for a living for better options even if it’s in the same field. Of course my job was steady though, no way of knowing whether or not I would’ve gotten a gig on any given day. But still, $440 was basically my weekly pay check. Just something to think about. Good on you guys, keep it up.
the difference is you were employed by toyota for photographing cars . wht he did is self-imploayed work . Self-imployed work can always reach unlimited numbers while beeing emploeyed by a company always gives you fixed salary, sometimes more sometimes less depending on how well you can market yourself.
the thing is, doing what you did, you had a steady income, you will always get your pay no matter what.
he needs to get clients because otherwise he won't get paid, its more risk but more reward, if he doesn't get a name or a bad name hes doomed.
self-employement can make you more money but it comes with great risk
Nice hustle man. As far as your pay, you are probably undervaluing yourself. You have to do the research and see what other people in your market are charging, do more polished work than them, and charge more.
Not to mention you have to pay income tax on those earnings I think.
@@waawaaweewaa2045 he wasn’t undervaluing himself he was a salaried/hourly paid employee, he doesn’t decide his pay.
Real estate next bruh. This is fire🔥💯

@Maxwell Smart_086 stupid fuck
@Maxwell Smart_086 shut up.
I've worked in a large car dealership recently and was partly in charge of the media output, and I can tell you that these things really need connections. A large dealership will need to have some sort of photographer already to put up cars online, and if they have a separate social network photographer, it's always either some employee who can kinda take photos (that's what I was) or someone that someone knows. If I were you I would have focused on small used car dealerships, cause they're often ran by a few very busy people who would honestly have more to do than take photos, often aren't too good at it, and can't justify making a full contract with a good photographer. Also those dealers are the most interested in boosting their image online, for their establishments aren't always the flashiest when visited.
"have a fantastic day and a great sleep tonight" lmao xD 3:45
Now is this gonna be a series?! Really loving them 😍
Yup looking forward to these😊

You have to get rejected 100 times for that 1 opportunity that opens up hundreds more opportunities.
once you get an insta page with 10k+ followers or a good name for yourself your good, the problem is making it there
I’m totally on-board with what you said toward the end about getting rejected. I’ve done door-to-door sales, and getting “doors slammed in your face,” so to speak (for me that was literal), really does build your character and self-esteem, and just makes you an overall more confident person.
Great work guys. 👍
Bro honestly you have inspired me so much and since your last coffee shop series, I've made at least $500 and have gotten new clients and bookings in the future
How did you do it?
@@KILLERDOG416 I took my portfolio of prints and my business cards to local businesses and my work speaks for itself ,some places say they have people that volunteer to take their photos or they already have someone but the ones that are actually serious will take you up ona gig. Just be friendly and confident in your work
How do u tell them how much to pay you?
@@StevenRobles50 how long have you been doing photography
@@jiegotena1095 if they are hesitant I tell them hey if you want I can come by and do a 30 min test shoot and after then show them the photos on your camera if they like them tell them if you like them I'll charge you 5 bucks or 10 bucks a photo , most likely you're going to have at least ten images so there's 50 off a short test shoot
I mean..... your 100K instagram page really helps tho not gonna lie 😂😂😂
How do more people not realize this is how he is getting these gigs. How many poor kids watched this video thinking they could walk into a dealership and get work... The gigs he got were just taking work from lesser photographers, not that anything is wrong about that. But he does not need to pretend like it's something any of us could do.
@@sethl8905 yeah going into a dealership asking to get paid for photos having 100K subs on instagram is 1000 times easier than coming in a dealership woth my 5-6000 followers saying “hey wanna pay me to shoot your ferrari mate!” They guy is just gonna laugh at me cause he doesnt see any advertising opportunity for him self since the audience is too small all credits to NorthBoarders hes a legend in pics love what he does but yeah his audience makes things easier for sure

Dude these videos make me feel so much better about my photo/video career. Idk why but I personally get so hype when YOU get the one person to say yes. You’re the man, recent subscriber and one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while
You’ ve just become one of my most watched channels on photography and videography due to your transparency, honesty and because you’re not afraid of showing your fuck ups and struggles. Watching you succeed in the end is the most satisfying feeling.
Thanks for keeping it real and humanizing the entire process. Very few folks actually share the process of rejection and failure. You guys have this unmistakable grit and perseverance which is very inspiring. Keep up the good work.
Try to do real estate! Hit up some realtors and see if that can lead into some business.

'Dealing with that amount of rejection in such little time'
Seriously love that you guys keep recording going in and getting rejected. Reality is important, and this is raw and awesome. Keep it up!
This was quite honestly one of the best photo videos i've watched this year. I just gotta keep working on that courage and that confidence, I see now its holding me back, but man seeing you go through that rejection makes me feel I'm not too far away from being ok with rejection too. Killed it.
Love how you showed us how much you got rejected. Other people just would show alfa and tell us how easy it is. You're real, thats what I like about you. keep it up
you guys are inspiring. the thought of rejection makes me feel anxious but i know what you're saying is truth. thanks for putting the good work out here!
Thank you so much for documenting this direct process. I follow lots of photography RUclips channels and while many make reccommendations on how to market your services you actually showed it. This makes it feel less anxiett provoking for me to take my steps from amateur to paid. Thank you so much.
Dude these are amazing videos. You really show what it takes to build a business and how to have a successful mindset. Great stuff man I'm loving the growth
Putting out content that has real value. Love it, brother.
This is very motivational. Whether you’re into photography, music, graphic design..etc
You just got to go out there and just do it!
I truly admire what you do. The last video with you walking into cafe's - I took your advice and went to a few clothing boutiques and got a few jobs doing so. Thanks for sharing.
I really liked how you explaned what Lens you used to get the best photo. I feel like I learnt alot from this video ❤
P.s. just took a photo of a cressida with a 70mm lens and its a BANGER
Thank you so much for this video.. really inspired me so much to keep grinding in my photography..
You have made such a simple yet bold video. I love the fact that you got down to the basics and actually showed what it takes . A true eye opener for someone yearning to start but does not know how. Thank you so much once again. This is your first video that I have watched. Now that I have subscribed will learn more. Request if you could also make such videos for cafes and fine dine restaurants, clubs. Appreciate your hard work and wish you the very best. Cheers.
Amen to that bro. I know this video is a couple years old but these skills will never go away. Go out and sell yourself face-to-face has always worked best for me.
I admire your confidence and perseverance, amazing work mike.
appreciate the support brother
Hey, just one quick question: when did u tell them how much u were charging them for the photography? Directly at the first meeting when walking in the dealership or when? I always struggle with finding the right time to actually talk money
Me too
Now, this is the question we all want to see answered.
I would like to hear when he had that conversation as well. The best time imo is before you do the work. Don't assume they will pay your rate. I'm sure most would want to know your rate before hiring you on as well.
They usually ask first honestly. With certain dealers you can gauge when to tell your prices. Mom and pop shops want you to be up front. Larger dealers will sit down with you and get the ins and outs that justify your day rate or each vehicle rate.

There's something about this guy's videos that really make me inspired and happy. Thank you for your work and effort you put in every video. It all looks natural as it should be.
This is the first video i have ever seen of yours.
Just wanted to say i watched the whole video, which i usually don't do.
It was very high quality, and there was zero boring parts.
Thank you for the very informative video.
Well, seems like Peter McKinnon was faster and got all those contracts 😂 4:11
This video is so inspiring! You could try also with restaurants! The usually need photos for their Facebook or Instagram page!
What kind of restaurants
Dude! I watched this video a while back and for some reason has never crossed my mind that it is as simple to just ASK! I’ve been constantly asking businesses and getting lots of NO’s but I have had a some yes which has made me more money and even given me the opportunity to fly out of Dallas, Tx to LA California for a job 2 weeks ago! I even got to shoot one my favorite bands on tour when they came into Texas! Thank you for teaching me something as simple as asking! Much love 🤜🏻🤛🏻
This video gave me the confidence to walk into quite a few dealerships today doing the same exact thing you did. Even though there was a lot of rejection, there might be some possible clients and I got to network a decent bit. I appreciate you and your videos man!

It really stands out, I also love it!
It’s incredibly easy to take a shot like this but they do look amazing and the little details catch eyes like nothing else.
honestly if it was taken to advertise that car to sell, it is a poor photo. to sell a car everything needs to be in focus. I want to see every detail of a car, its features, buttons, functions, trim details, blemishes etc.

Tried this in my town I have 4 car dealerships the guys I bought my car from said when they get rid of the old guy they would contact me that was a year ago...
hahaha they'll always say they'll contact you, you need to rock up, take some photos of their dealership and show them!
If they say this call them every 3 month and ask. That shows them you want the job and as well shows you are a good sales man. Never contacting them again is the worst option.

I like how these sales managers always pick the hottest secretaries 😂
Because most of them are fat wasted old bastards with a miserable wife and 10 kids. They need to feel relevant again.
@@the_useless_photographer chill bro why are you YeLliNg
By far the most valuable information out here. Everyone wants to get clients but are stumped on how to do it and when they hear you get a ton of no’s they give up. That’s life! But if you’re good at what you do and you’re persistent it will pay (pun intended)
nice to see a real life example. i've seen a ton of videos giving the same tips over and over again but no real example on how to pitch the question about if they need photos or video. I think thats what i need to work on. Figuring out how to ask if they need work and why if they already have photos or video, have a well thought out way to tell them you're better. thank you for this!
Drop the camera, speak to an individual salesmen. Do some shooting for them, ig,fb etc.

That was sad to read :(
Rejection is key. You really gave me motivation to keep going on this Automotive Photography path
Nough respect. I love the hustle, the fighting spirit. You guys are smart.
"make fast money"
spends a hour getting rejected
that's part of hte game mate
I don't know how fast you make money but 440$ for 4 hours of effort plus the hour they looked for the client seems pretty fast to me
Can't knock the hussle but being nice and polite to someone's face and cursing them out 2 seconds later isn't exactly dealing with rejection positively. It's kind of disingenuous.
You seem like the type of person who likes to start arguments with their friends. They got the impression that the guy had something up his ass and laughed about it afterward as they are clearly friends. They were well mannered when they handled the situation and the banter would never effect that guys day. Humans talk shit, Deal with it. it's really that simple. if you are gunna get all butt hurt about things you never hear strangers say about you do yourself a favor and stay inside. Chances are they are still talking about you.
YO WTF? North you're blowing up lately! Well deserved man. Honest and true content, keep killin it bro.
