Wow! That's crazy! Thank you to our ranchers who we city folk never realized how difficult your job is! My rancher friend sent me this video. She said it's just a regular day on the farm. Yikes! I think I'll keep my office job and be forever grateful to all the ranchers who provide us meat nicely packaged in the store. I enjoyed the video and think some people back east need to see real men at work and support them.
He did an amazing job especially doing it alone! Just wanna put it out there, that it's not just men doing this kind of work. 🙋♀️🙋♀️ I'd rather work with the babies every day instead of ALL the other chores and jobs that need to be done but we grow our own alfalfa and cut 3× a year, BUT I wouldn't trade all the hard work for any other job!!
I love how protective that mama cow was. She showed excellent instinct in that regard. Just not too good at actually feeding her calf. 😊 Oh well, bottle fed babies are THE best cows ever‼️💜
Sonne Farms bought a cage that attaches onto ATV that they can drive along and lower over calf. Can then do what is needed, raise the cage and leave baby with mama. Has been enormous help with their herd.
Helped a buddy once that a cow had a still born, getting it away from her was a challenge, she tried to come in a truck with me when I was trying to get away from her!
Do y’all have a headgate? We’ve had a cow like this before and if you can get her milked out a bit first, then latch the calf on her, it’s downhill from there! But bottle calves are super special too☺️
Tough challenge and the others come to help just like we see cape buffalo do when a lion grabs one of the herd. These videos have taught me how difficult a rancher's job is and I have great respect for it, thanks for sharing.
No...keep her. We raised a lot of Brahmans. They tend to be good mama's & usually very friendly. Maybe this is her first calf, or she's particularly nervous because baby hasn't nursed yet.
I can't BELIEVE that you did this alone!! 😮 Although your mama seems to be a bit more timid than ours! If we even tried to back up to a feed ring to do it like this, she would have done everything she could to get through it to get at us! It took three of us just a week ago to try to get one of our newest boys (just to band him), mama hit me so hard, she LITERALLY knocked me out of my shoes, smacked my head on the ground, suffering a concussion, then turned on my better half and barreled into him knocking him off his feet and proceeded to stomp all over him wherever she could! He has numerous MAJOR black and blue bruises on his ankle, both legs and lower back! And she was one of our more timid mamas!! But, we were back at it the next day because farm/ranch work NEVER ENDS! We have Black Angus. Had twins today and mama is only caring for one of them, she prefers the boy, I've got the girl and hoping she makes it through the night! Wet winter stinks for these babies!
Awww❣️ Bless your hearts! I hope n pray you’re both okay. I’ve heard, never personally experienced the breed, that black Angus are by far the most dangerous n aggressive as far as breeds of cows go. Even Dr Pol will tell ya that. Sounds like y’all experienced it first hand. I’m SO sorry!!! Glad y’all got that baby before it faded. 😊
Not sure if it would help but Sonne Farms has demo'd a calf catcher that attaches to the front of a side-by-side that allows for situations like this. Not sure of the cost or if it would be useful but maybe worth a look if you are having to tend to calves alone
@@sarahgriffith8790 your right ! I remember the cute freckled face brothers but not the commercial dialog. I do remember it was life Cereal though. I would love to see the men they grew up to be. They were very Irish looking.
Hello? He's helping the calf bcuz it hasn't nursed & giving the calf right back. Had he not taken the calf in the long run, it would be dead. For whatever reason it would NOT nurse from it's Mom🙄
Today and this is my first video w you..interested in this baby calfs health.buster says " heck no,that mama will hurt me"they're Bramaas right?.thankyou sir for making sure she got the colostrum..
I think you done a good job on your own to catch baby calf between a very angry mama and buster I'm safer in the truck your on your own mate. Happy to hear you stuck it out with baby if only mama understood what you were trying to do it would have made your job easier but nothing is easy in the animal world 🌎
It's a shame that the cow isn't smart enough to understand that the calf is having trouble nursing and that's why you're there to help the calf survive.
That's what I was thinking!! It's true you can always get videos of other calf captures but that Mama is not going to let you do that too many times!! If it had been me, there wouldn't have been much of a video! 😂😂
Your dog refusing made me laugh a bit sorry 😂 i am a recovering Brahman victim (currently 4 months in hospital).. my dogs won't even go near them again after what they saw ... please be careful 🙏🏻 Cheers 🍻 🇦🇺
Good Farmer there! IMHO, he should get one of those Calf-Catcher contraptions!! A protective Mama Cow can kill a Man! You're looking at a Beast that probably weighs in close to 1500 pounds!! Interesting!! A Brahma Mama but the Heifer Calf looks like a Herford!!
Everyone looks stupuid trying to catch those 4 legged running backs😂😂😂 There fast and go where you don't want them to go. Can turn 180 quickly. They hide by mommy. Mommy help me, big bad dude trying to catch me, HELP
Just a couple of questions. How do you know when you're putting the feeding tube down that it doesn't go in the lungs? Why are the cows branded on both sides? Next time you burn yourself, think of this 😢
You don't want to have a dog around a cow with a new calf. They will charge you & the dog. Normally a cow will run from a dog, but not when they have a new born calf.
All the time with twins, 5 percent to 10 percent chance singels. Sometimes first time mommy just walk off or tits are pluggrd. Calves have to milk or die
Buster says hell no, he knows what will happen
Great video, great idea using the hay ring
You know its bad when Buster says, "Hell nah. Im good."
just was watching looked down and saw your message. made it so much funnier.

Thank you for those kind words!
You could stop eating meat and no problem or cut back.
He's nice guy but right reg day farm.

I'd rather ranch then work in the office any day of the week office work depressing working on a farm to me is fun
My 4 year old loves your videos! He calls you the crazy cow man and runs around our farm with a flag acting like he's sorting mean brahma mama's!
Ha! Love to hear that!
@@TheFarmGuyhow’s it going Colton
Buster shows remarkable ensemble in dealing with that cow. Don’t blame him. I’d be back in the side by side too.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Buster LMAO.... hey buster say, bro you are on your own with all of that, Buster I am not stupid
A unique method. Congratulations on the procedure. All the best! ❤😊
Just wanted to say thank you for all you do. Farming and ranching isn't easy. It's a 24/7 job that is never done. Great video! Stay safe out there.

Buster is like "Hell nah, not today hooman!"😂
Well mama has to go if she can’t nurse her baby and hello to the new bottle calf! She is adorable!

Yes, growing up on a N. Texas cattle ranch my grandparents had to bring a calf in a number of times.
I miss those days
Tough challenge and the others come to help just like we see cape buffalo do when a lion grabs one of the herd. These videos have taught me how difficult a rancher's job is and I have great respect for it, thanks for sharing.
One thing for sure about all them flop eared mommy’s…they are very protective
I do believe I would take that mama to town!!!! Great video
Yep
No...keep her.

LOL Get'er Buster Yikes with mama .......Love seeing the little ones tho. be careful out there
Busters alot smarter than the cow whisperer!!!!
Great video and great job taken care of that young one. Good looking herd.
😂😂😂😂..Buster was like no you get her❤!
Grew up with mostly calm holsteins, never seen such aggression like that. Good mama, too bad she was fighting you though. I'd be scared, too, Buster.
Love the dog who is the smart one. I’m NOT messing with a mom!

Whoopee, that was work. Pray all goes well
Well i learned something. Buster aint daft!
Nice video, can’t wait for more! 😁
The calf is quite lively and mobile for having difficulty nursing.
He caught it early for sure. He's 100% right about the bag being too big, must be an older cow. There no way it could nurse from that.
You are very brave and what love you have for your cows i like that
Why are you so cute ❤
Very Cute Cow baby 🍼🍼
Buster is no fool, doesn't want a hoof in his belly.

I heard from a little birdie that buster got fired…. 😂😂
She’s just bluffing 😮😢😂😂
Good ole Buster to the rescue!we been hoping you would be back one day!Great video watch them momma cows they get your hinny in a hurry!
Buster knows Mama holds grudges and noped right out
Another great video. Buster playing it safe... lol
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
This is a indian breed cow that's why she loves his calf more than out her cows ❤
Buster lmao😂😂😂
Buster reminded me of a very old commercial. Where kids (real brothers)said "you try it, I'm not going to try it" 😀
Mikey & the Life Cereal commercial, " Give it to Mikey, he'll eat anything" 😅🤣😂

There’s injections you can get from a vet for a non- suckling calf, and has worked for me
Looking forward to MORE Farm Guy videos!!❤️

“Y Can’t talk norm” bro write normarl wtf 😂💀
Mama's calf. Let her have him.

Great video!
Another very interesting video Thank you
Poor old Brahman cow looks ancient
Great video buddy!! Keep up the great work!
I believe Buster is smartest one right at the moment. Lol
Well it looks like you and Buster live to see another day. You do know that cats only have 9 lives. Please be safe.
You take the babies away anyway from their mother's that's why yet another calf taken away great job farmer the cow knows already
Capturing the filming vs attending to the calf? Attend to the calf is priority 1.

You are funny!
Why won't the baby nurse from her or is it that the mom doesn't want her to? Seems like the mom digs her, so not sure what's going on.
Mama's teats look swollen. No wonder baby wasn't drinking.
time for a new DOG

Buster ain't no fool
Great Video. Couldn't the Mama's Head Be Put In One Of Those Things The Teach The Calf How To Feed. Just Asking.
How do you say put a camera mount on the front and a camera mount on the back of that ATV that you're driving and you'll get
Did u have to milk the mama or use medicine to dry her up?
Buster isn’t a cow dog and cow has a horrible udder.
That will make you pay attention
Haven't you got a set of yards with a head bale, much easier. Then you can get the calf on her teats
What is the reason that they won't nurse from their mother?
Everyone looks stupuid trying to catch those 4 legged running backs😂😂😂 There fast and go where you don't want them to go. Can turn 180 quickly. They hide by mommy. Mommy help me, big bad dude trying to catch me, HELP
Feeding time at the Rodeo.
Taking the cow to sale barn?
what kind of dog is that?
Black Mouth Cur
Just a couple of questions. How do you know when you're putting the feeding tube down that it doesn't go in the lungs? Why are the cows branded on both sides? Next time you burn yourself, think of this 😢
You don't want to have a dog around a cow with a new calf. They will charge you & the dog. Normally a cow will run from a dog, but not when they have a new born calf.
I noticed you two different cow breeds, why you're mixing them together?
Hybrid vigour most likely. It makes for fast growing calves.
The nursing problem. The calf or the mom?
So this cow wasnt feeding her calf and does this normally happen?
All the time with twins, 5 percent to 10 percent chance singels. Sometimes first time mommy just walk off or tits are pluggrd. Calves have to milk or die
