- A baby calf falls asleep out in the pasture, and so is left behind when the other cows return to the barn. The cow herdsmen couldn't find the calf, so they brought Hasita, the mother cow, to find her baby. Watching the mother cow search for her baby made me realize that cows have real emotions, just like humans.

She sounded exactly the same once they found the calf.
Animals are amazing. Mothers love their babies and will go out looking for them, by calling them. I am so happy that many now are realizing that animals have feelings just like us, that they are not positions to use and discard whenever we want. Thank you to the Cows Foundation for helping these wonderful cows and their babies.🥰

when angry one day with my family i hid in a old abandon house near by my house ..At mid night I heard my mom calling me out loud but did not respond till next day morning .i did not know that anything could happened to me like snakes or wild beasts Dogs ..I felt good for my mom looking for me ..May be this Calf felt good to know his mom loves him

Exactly, Dhyani. Cows will to nourish and care for their calves. We have seen the mother calf bond remain strongly even after the calf is fully grown - they are still very close.

The 4 main principles of the cows foundation are to; treat cows with kindness and respect, allow calves to stay with their mothers, allow cows to graze freely, and let cows live out their full lives.

How can you afford all the land, costs, taxes, etc. and run a sanctuary to feed all the animals and veterinary care? Something many of us would love to do but can't see how to financially survive.
We rely mainly on donations to support the cows. It is not sustainable and we are looking for ways to develop economic viability for cows who can live in accordance with the principles of The Cows Foundation without being subject the abuse of conventional dairy and beef farms. As for your cattle there, have any of them come from a regular dairy or beef operation at all? Also, given the large quantity of milk that a thorough bred dairy cow produces, do you find that you need to milk a small amount from your cows on top of what their calves consume to keep your dairy breed cows in good health/condition at all?
If indeed you do need to do this, maybe you could sell that extra milk say online, aimed at consumers who are/would be willing to support what you do and stand for?
I'd imagine some consumers would be happy to pay a reasonable price for milk if they know it's come from a source like your property.
Please forgive my lack of experience in farming, etc, I just read your comment mentioning your quest for funding your cow sanctuary, and thought that may be an option for you.

Thanks for the comment. Usually calves are quiet in order to not attract attention from potential predators, also to conserve energy. Calves can moo when hungry and to communicate to their mother.
Watch. Farmer Tylor Ranch that guy can call the mothers with there calves distress calls when his helping them out. He hears calf once and repeats it. Mom comes

Calves don't give a care about their Dam. All calves want is to be fed for eight weeks until weaned, it doesn't matter if it's their Dam, another cow, a bottle, or milk replacement dispenser.
They aren't very smart, and are better off being taken within 24 hours, and employed in the restaurant business ASAP.
