This Sportster has been given away! We actually hand delivered it to the winner (video coming later this week). But be sure to sign up at www.yammienoob.co
Think you drew in every needy person.. Think idea is maybe should have waited till motor was broke in.?. Had tack or rev limiter set.?. Safe road or track? Engine Noise and guy going wow fast. Just fired up the kids in peanut gallery . I was very interested in your findings.. Feels like owner of the bike or something held you back? Like you had make good on promise,?? I don't know?? Maybe I'm having bad day.. My sport. I road trip 6 states . Has more dirt roads trails and gravel than many duel sports. Given other miles of fun becsuse its not new 4cly shaft drive. That sounds like IndyCar winding up..Have one those also..
Hope I helped more than hurt?
Why is someone willing to lose 10whp for a shitty exhaust
You know how much of a difference that is?
Put the right exhaust on it and make the power it was designed for
YOUR THE SLIPPER CLUTCH don’t blame the clutch for your poor rev matching
Can we see this VS the scout?
With the 1275 kit 560 cams heads port and polished and a mikuni 45 with a Force Winder exhaust .couple more days and I get to try it out pretty excited
pipe to get LSR Black Hole. performance 2 into 1s is their specialty and is about performance not looks or sound
Now we all remember how fast we thought a 1989 5.0 Mustang was. 200 HP
Slower than dick way slower than even a stock Sporty.
Yea but don't forget it had 300 foot pounds of torque
For their day, they were.
When the 1989 Mustang came out, I owned a 1966 Mustang with a 5.8l Windsor shoved into it. 3:55 locker out the back, and no way could I find traction even with ladders on.
In 1986 a mustang gt cost 12,600.00 brand new. A couple with lx package was 10,500.00. Might as well have been 100,000.00 minimum wage was 3.65 an hour.
I love sportys. They feel so raw. Especially when you wrenched your personal custom bike together.
My kit is coming in 4 weeks. Definitely was looking forward to this video
Your excitment is contagious man - need to get my hands on this kit!!🔥
This sounded SOOOO good in person. Bet it was hard to give away
Dude it's crazy as hell seeing Spite ride down Riverside. When I lived off that street I was in college riding my BMX bike everywhere, had no clue that someday I would get into motorcycles and one of my new favorite RUclipsrs would be cruising on it.
What we’ve all been waiting for
Make sure your belt tension isn't too tight. Recommend setting turned out to be too tight with taller shocks. When the swingarms would move through their range of motion, they would bind up at their farthest point from the front belt pulley. Makes the bike feel unsettled and wobbly.
I have a Buell xb with the 1250 kit and I totally agree with you on the exhaust. The muffler is a modified glass pack with 2 exits, 1 pointing left and 1 right. Maybe I'm losing a touch but its so fast already who cares. That sound... I call it the Ric Flair machine cause after you ride it you wanna go "woo" at the top of your lungs. Or at least I do and I paid for it so... Lol
I'm sure it feels good running it to redline, even my 883 feels good running out to redline. I have the dyna2000i set at 6k. I have the basic hammer 1275 kit that I haven't installed yet. Only put the ignition in and made sure it's running good, gonna put cylinders on this weekend
A bike like that has two speeds: at the bar and not at the bar.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I mean That’s literally what it’s designed for a “bar hooper” that’s literally what the Indian Bobber is too..
These bikes look great and are cool to ride but you don’t want to go more than 50 miles at any given time
@@kyleryneost Both the Bobber and the Scout are basically the same bike. They're okay, the seat is meh - that's really all.
@@kyleryneost man I got a shattered back and I routinely drive over 50 miles at a stretch on hopped up rear rigid mini bikes, quit bein a wuss lol
And at the gas station
For me it’s the process of doing the work yourself and making it yours. Is it now a super bike? No of course not. But that was never the point was it? I like it a lot.
I can't lie the new engine makes the sporty a lot more endearing.
Probably mentioned earlier but the wobble is most likely due to the suspension. The bike would feel much better If you got progressive shocks and front cartridge tubes with larger diameter tubes with a Wider triple.tree. The stock brakes suck on the sportster. got to love the raw feel of the power on a small bike
more Sportster videos!! yeiiiii I'm loving it!!
This and the scout need to have a comparison video now
Rev that puppy out to 6800-7000 man, you are just coming into the power when you shift it! A 90+hp Sportster is a ripper!
Was there headwork done, or just upgraded to 1200 heads?
Sure I heard head work.. But if you did not hear it?? Maybe not..
Watching the video of the build I didn’t see them do anything to the heads.. prolly stock cams. Still making about 85hp. Definitely a ripper
@@christianbutcher542 I had to rewatch the video, but he states they did send the heads to Hammer Performance for headwork, and that they are running Hammer cams, and it made 90whp with the setup they went with. I have a 1250cc Sportster that makes about the same (95hp) and its an absolute blast. I'm guessing the exhaust is holding it back, much like my exhaust is on my setup!
Would be interesting to compare the cost sunk compared to buying a stock cruiser giving similar power numbers?
Just got my first motorcycle, 2003 883 and i cant wait to start wrenching on it
You are starting out with the RIGHT idea. Pre-rubber mount bikes are 100 pounds lighter, have the firm frame and can take the Baker 6-speed transmission. Save up for the Mikuni carb and the progressive shocks and fork springs. Hopefully you have the tall frame, not the Sportster Low.
Me too bud 04 883
@@skylerweingarth9545 04 is rubber mount. Heavier than previous years and you have to remove the engine and split the cases to access the transmission.
I miss this Bike! (Well, the 883) I learned on this actually Melted a boot too like a Yammie Noob 🥾🔥
Hey guys, love the content. I’ve noticed when you mod bikes that I almost never see you add a high flow air filter. Why is that?
What about rev limiter? Did you switch for higher revs than stock permits? Dino chart shows you wrung it out, but was that with stock electronic module?
I was beginning to wonder why you didn’t post any results Lol
That Arlon Ness helps a heckuva lot, 20% at least stock who knows w/ a big bore kit..maybe 25% w/ the increase in induction.
Finally ! Good job
Does that tuner on the handle bars need to stay there once you install this kit?
Should have went with a thunderheader! VERY unique sound, and NO major dips in power! You might have been able to hit the 100 hp,
I bought my first bike a year ago. It’s a 2017 883 that had been lowered slightly, drag barred, 1200 converted, upgraded exhaust/intake, and dyno tuned. Previous owner had made it into a type of cafe racer/drag bike. Only bike I’d ever ridden. Taught myself how to ride on it and put over 6000 miles on it in about 10 months before I took a spin on someone’s stock 883. I just thought that was how sportsters were until I hopped on the stock turd. OMG I had no idea how much of a difference those upgrades made in my bike. I thought all sportsters would hit 80+ before shifting out of 4th. Mine is so “sporty” I just assumed that’s why they called them sportsters. Then I understood the compliments on my bike when the baggers I blew past earlier pull into the gas stations behind me. I still won’t outrun the bigger bikes on the long haul, but I’ll leave them in the dust on take offs and curves.
A few upgrades to a Sporty can make it amazing. The same goes for a Dyna, kind of why both models are so popular. S&S makes a T143 motor that pumps out 162 HP & 151 TQ, if I ever blow the motor on my Dyna it's what I'm going for.
Spite just called my beloved bike silly. Spite is one silly silly goose.
I been dying for this video
Love the fact you where in Round rock miss that place probably not gonna see my home town for 6 years
When/how do we find out who won the beginner bike giveaway? I keep checking the website but I don’t see anything.
I love the old school feel too
Rear suspension is fine. The forks shouldn't be decompressing so much under acceleration. Time for a fork cartridge kit or stiffer springs/heavier oil.
That 90mph wobble sounds like the death wobble my dyna had before I added the Sputhe stabilizer.
The Sporty came out pretty nice. I’m sure the winner was “off the hook” excited when you showed up to deliver it.
To slow to beat the 10 ton truck. 😆
getting past 110 on my xl1200 is scary these sportsters are not the safest bikes above 90 speed wobble is what’s keeping me from trying to make more power with it
Not only the exhaust, but that intake doesn't look like it helps power very much. You could make about 10hp with better of both
Yeah the internal breathers rob a couple horses too
A shame the engine work was wasted on a bike with no suspension. Now that engine in the Roadster, that would be a fun bike.
Good gob!! Like because of that brilliantly used B99 clip hahahaha
I bought a stage 2 1200 for my dad. So it’s got cams. It moves pretty good but handles like crap. Even compared to other cruisers I’ve ridden
I get the stimmy tomorrow this is valuable information hahaha
Do you guys know if there's a 6 speed transmission for a 2007 1200 Sportster Low? I was looking at Baker but I don't think it'll fit in the bike without some case modification
Where did you get it Dyno tuned at? I need to get mine done, installing the kit soon as it comes in the mail.
that laugh hahaha made me smile awesome bike
Where did you go to get the bike tuned? By the signs in the roads that you're driving on, it looks like you are super close were I live at.
I'm told you can put roadking tubes on the front too stabilize the front end .
I honestly felt betrayed when you promised to show it when tuned and then didn't upload for ages. Glad to see the end result!
I’ve got a 06 883 turned to a 1250 with the S&S kit I’m pushing 91hp and 84 foot pounds of torque. But I’m all so running a bassani 2 into 1
The exhaust really does have a profound impact on the sportster engines.
Going from radial to two into one made a big difference for me
It sure does. I have an iron 1200 and with a set of slip ons it was so hard to wheelie. I put a fab28 pipe on it and it is super easy to wheelie now.
Why a Buell M2 was such a great upgrade for a Sportster engine - esp. hot-rodded.
Thought it sorta sounded/ behaved like a Buell.
What temp does the bike run at before and after the tune?
WOW THAT IS FAST
"Is it worth it?" That's all up to everyone's own opinion. Personally I'd say it's worth it for the experience of taking a bike that isn't meant to be a performance bike and making it into a performance bike. I think it would be fun. Someone else might think that's stupid and a waste of money. That's ok.
The only issue I take with this is that its not a performance bike
@@ondank Whats performance bike. 4cly sport bikes only??
Sport was to be corvettes of HD line? I know kind lost that but intresting people coveted sports to duel sports to sport bikes. Best tool in box? No but fun anyway. I bought used std thought turning it into duel sport. Drop dirt bike forks chain drive on and on. Ended in mom needed help. My back somthing was bad wrong. But did put tall new take off road king air shocks. Got get bike off the ground to turn .Mustang large and tall wide windshield and like 6 day 2800 mile adventure down thru Tex to NM Co Nebr hual but home.. Make it do what you want...
Ride yer own bike, I say!
Does anyone have any tips for saving up for a motorcycle like this. It’s far to say the least that the iron 883 would be my beginners choice but where to start when finances come into play?
4:57 - 5:02. That's why we ride
Yeah! If a bike, ANY bike give it to you ... you're with the right bike
Wait.. so why do you ride?
Love Holt at the beginning
I thought my 1275 was fast til I got an fz 09 and I’m never going back
What kit was used here? As spite says a 100hp. Is this is 100+ hp kit with ported heads, changed valves etc.?
Yes. It can make more with better exhaust and a better intake
I had a 2016 Roadster. I remember if i was merging on the highway I practically had to get off and push it to get up to speed. I am watching him get on it and not seeing the speedo move , having bad flashbacks... Sounds nice though.
He's barely into the throttle at any point in the video. Also something was wrong with your Roadster if you couldn't merge confidently. Even when stock mine is up to 90+ by the time I full throttle from a on ramp.
@@ZombieZim713 I traded in a 160hp BMW K1200 for a 55hp Roadster. It was only tolerable after 2-1 exhaust, intake and a tune.
My 2012 883 with only a exhaust, intake, cam, and tune easily makes it up to the 70 mph highway speed limit
@@rattlehead7281 I am sure with those mods it had more power then my 2016 1200 sportster. I went from a 160hp BMW to a 60hp Harley, so it hits me different.
Sportbike guys listening to Spite call 90 hp “potent”:
...
lmao out of 1.3 times the engine volume
😂😂😂😂
And this is the guy that has ridden bothering a zh2 and a busa
To be fair it does have a lot of torque paired with it
90 hp is potent for an air cooled push rod v-twin. To compare it to a liquid cooled DOHC is unfair and misses the point entirely.
Kinda thinking about my Forty eight to pump it up on a 100HP Kit :D.
It's got a tune, you can dance with it😂😂😂
Does anyone know what the top speed of this setup would be? Im considering the hammer 1275 kit for my 2019 xl1200c
Ive built 2 of these sportster big bits bikes, they love rpm.... this new one has s&s super sport heads and it is roudy.... still running drag pipes 🤷♂️ my last one had the same but with andrews n8 cams and a 2-1 straight pipe, s&s super e jetted
couple of rough craft guerillas sorted i am gonna get stage one on my 883 then just gonna buy a 1200
Did you guys put the 660 cams in it or just the little 1275 kit
@yammienoob
Didn’t know you were in Austin area!!!
What’s your economy on the bike before and after tune?
I’m in RR with a 16 ultra limited.
That exhaust needs a thunder torque insert and get redynoed to get that 100+ without changing the exhaust
Thunder torque inserts are a joke
This is why the softail standard is the best entry level Harley. Better and bigger engine, light years better chassis, better suspension, better transmission. But I said entry level Harley for a reason. I don’t think you should start on a Harley. Unless you start commonly finding used sportsters for under $5k. There’s so many great starter bikes in the $6-7k range that are all better than the sportster. By no means am I saying nobody should own a sportster. I think they’re great as a 2nd or 3rd bike in the garage. But not as an only bike. You can still have it as an only bike if that’s your thing. I’d personally suggest against doing so
How much did you spend in this dyno upgrade?
I love one of these
Now add the trask turbo kit
Wait... That wasn't full throttle at the beginning... Was it?
Went from 0-60 in never to 0-60 in eventually
wat? stock Sportsters can cut low 4 second 60's. Pleeeenty quick.
@@ZombieZim713 yea I’m pretty sure he’s joking lol. My 09 Nightster went 4.04 0-60 and 12.45 at 108 in the 1/4 using the dragy app. Bike is only stage 1. I think that is plenty quick for a Harley.
Fair enough but as far as harleys go thats BLISTERING 😂
@@tomr862 that’s blistering? They can hit 9s with the right work.
@Danny Norsten I have an 09 Nightster as well in. Silver and black thinking of doing the Hammer 1275 conversion kit.
I have a 2012 883 and it has some balls not that much but it’s fun
I really wanna know what kind of fuel mileage its getting after that upgrade
same
So I followed this build, dreamed and schemed, did I go hammer performance? At the end of the day no cause I still had a warranty but I did pick and choose from the screaming eagle catalog and ended up making just a smidge more power than this build with just a 1200 conversion: 88HP 78Tq 7500rpm redline. The cool part is once the warranty is done and I can slap a hammer performance kit in there the supporting mods I put on for the SE build should work for the 1275 kit and we’ll probably be looking at 120+ @ the wheels 😎
This is the way
This is the way. 48 Sporty here
I giggle when thinking about it...
My 1290GT has 60cc more, is an arrow at stupid speeds, revs to 10k rpm and has about 157 HP at the wheels. And has 80.000km mileage in just over 3 years
Then there is the 2019 Svartpilen which has "just" 42 HP but weighs so little it actually flies
Still, this speaks volume about the chassis ideology of Harley
Bro you had so much time to rip it past that 18 wheeler, that’s exactly why you go with this kit. To get up and go when you have to.
Triumph speed twin. Saved you time and money.
Triumph is nice. But the speed twin is not what sportster buyers want. Even the Bonneville bobber is just a factory custom bike.
Nothing like an old school Harley motor . . If your into them
Have you ridden the Softail standard, if so what did you think. Really looking to buying one in a few months but I can’t find an honest review about the bike
I worked at texas hd and road quite a few, honestly the softail rides very smooth and steady. The Milwaukee 8 runs quite nice
wow that bike is so slow looks like is hardly moving
D and d fatcat exhaust would have made more power and sounds amazing! I wasn't a fan of the looks of the 2 into 1 but one ride and I was converted. My 1200 made 97 hp and 93 torque with just stage 1 air screaming eagle kit d and d 2-1 and a set of Andrew's cams.. such a fun bike and way to fast for the frame lol.. love the look of that iron tho!
With a 1200 EVO engine , the number one restriction in volumetric efficiency is the heads .
Increase flow in the heads ,
example 1 - Good CNC porting
example 2 - Bigger valves
That's why the 1250 heads give the biggest increase for the $$$ spent.
It also doesn't hurt to have more cubic inches to go along with it .
As the saying goes : There's no replacement for displacement.
What cams from Andrew’s did you install?
@@CactusJack252n4 I believe. It's been years ago. Bought the bike new in 07. Put the cams in probably around 2010ish.
Your power curve is all wrong unless your sitting on 5k rpm all day. There is a big dip at normal riding rpm. A good exhaust with some back pressure will fix that. Cheers.
**scavenging
There's nothing like buying a brand new 40 year old technology only to spend $$$ to boost up the engine to make the power your happy with. And then find out you need better brakes better suspension, different pegs and a custom comfortable set. Then you find out the fuel tank only holds enough fuel to get across town. 🤪🤑😤
If you can’t afford it just say that they aren’t toys for little boys
I love my Sportster.....as a 3rd or 4th bike.
I won't debate if loud pipes save lives but if said pipes disturb/annoy/interrupt some suburban kant yakking on her cell phone while vaguely controlling her C series merc then I'm all for it.
Come on dude, we all can see that a Honda Civic will still walk off.
Lol ok
yea, no. not even against a stock Sporty. lol
And even if it could... YAWN
Dam, I want that in mine now
How fast did it go? I could get mine up to about 118 and I weigh about 205.
Mine does 122 on the dot. The motor could do more. But the transmission could not.
It could defiantly use a sixth gear.
It’s hilarious seeing people
Chase satisfaction bike-wise when the problem is within themselves hahahah. That’s a damn good bike
Is it still on the 883 gearing?
I would put the big bore kit and leave the 883 badges on it lol like a Ford pinto with a 454
A ThunderHeader with DEI titanium wrap would be perfect.
Got some questions sir:
1. Is it wobbly at 100mph?
2. Can it easily maintain 80-90mph? And what is the rpm?
Thank you!
I can't speak for his but my stock 883 can easily maintain 80. It takes a bit longer to get there but it can hold 85 at probably around 5000 rpm
i have a 883 with a bigbore kit on it. i dont even need to shift to 5th until like 70 75... it cruises at 85 all day at a low rumble
ive had it up to 95 a few times and its still pulling, it a little scary going that fast on such a light package!!
@@thelongeared1 a sportster is a boat comparing other bikes in its class. The sportster s is 80 pounds less and just catching up with the others in the class.
Finally got a bike haha, it's a 2010 Honda Phantom 750, Bobber style custom. Love it, taking my MSF next month, so, excited to start the journey haha. Anyways, this channel, is easily the best, and I will continue to plug in, as I will always seek further learning, would hate to end up on a "What not to do" video haha!!
I ride a o7 C model ,stage 1 883 it rides n runs sweet ,it's hot here always ,I've not ridden a 48 ,but mine has none of the handling problem s you mentioned ,it's far from my first rodeo , maybe it's just a model thing ,but she's no slouch in corners ,or stop n with factory equipment ,fast enough to surprise friends with so big dollar bikes of all breeds , people who constantly bag sportster s , clearly have never owned one ,they make smiles n miles ,but they never will be 5o K track bikes simple
