This build inspired me to buy a 2017 Roadster and, after 50 years of riding, I love this motorcycle. Modifications included a 4.5 gal. XL1200C tank/seat, Cobra pipe, Euro fender-mounted license plate, factory 48 rear fender and handlebars. Will probably go with the Hammer 570 drop-in cams. Can't wait for summer.
Can't wait to get mine installed next winter. Have a 2000 883 Hugger with an S&S 1250. Going with the Hammer Performance 1275 120+hp package but with a different exhaust and possibly a Mikuni carb. Gonna run me around $5,000 without installation but by the time I'm done converting it to a balls to the wall bobber it'll be well worth it
I am in the process of putting the Hammer 1275,600 cams and head work on my 96 S1 Buell. I have been doing track days and the stock heads failed and also got a piston. Enjoyed your video and everything I see coming out of Laidlaw is great I live in Tampa and we have lost are family dealerships such as Jims and Fletchers
As usual another nice build coming out of your dealership. Sportsters are all about having fun! I have a blast on my Dyna BUT... my Sportster is a very important part in my stable with its rich history. after all these years I find it a must to own one, in fact I am looking to get another to build up. I would love to see some more hot rod Sportster performance builds coming out of Laidlaw Harley-Davidson.
Michael Gurgone That’s what needs to happen! I don’t know why Harley slept on the sportster for so long. Give it a six speed transmission and brembos and punch out the 1200 to something bigger. I always thought they could have done so much more with that line and they aren’t exactly cheap. Look at how fast and what some euro or Japanese bikes come with in the 10-12k price range. I mean you can get on a track purpose 600cc bike that’s decked out with the latest tech and amazing suspension. I don’t know why Harley doesn’t offer Olin’s shocks and brembos etc. Along with some more CCs. There’s just a lot of things they don’t do.
I just bought a 2019 XL1200X forty-eight, i'm a lighter guy @ 145lbs, and the bike is bone stock, it has some pep to it- but this thing is a beast!!! I definitely need to open mine up!
I've just seen my idea of the perfect HD Sporster Roadster. From the color to the hop-ups to the powder coating and the exhaust. Simply perfection, or badass, if you prefer. Nicely done.

I guess if you’re going to buy a Roadster, then you did it up right! I feel like others on here though, your Softail was straight bad ass. At the end of the day, you work at Harley-Davidson and have some latitude to experiment and play around, especially since you’re a Tech. Well done!
