How many wires did you connect to it , you skipped that part of showing what was connected to the monitor that was what I was looking for . You left me with lots of questions , how did you know where to mount the bracket too . Please another video step by step . Nit to much of a help this one was .
I saw that you had drilled the sunshade bracket first but then how did you determine where to drill on the bracket, shouldn't you rather have drilled through the bracket then onto the sunshade bracket?
@xianrhee It's not that complicated. You need to run constant power, preferrably directly from batter, and the other from switched power in the fuse box. You can use a Busmann Little Fuse adapter, and run ground wire. To hardwire the audio to aux, run some RCAs from the headliner down behind aux port. I am very particular about these type of installs and I rather do it myself, taking time, and using solder, heat shrink tubes, and pop rivet gun rather than screws.
Also I have lights and I would like them to work with my door lighting, how would I go about that? I assumed I would have a third wire I can run to my doors but I don’t.
I Have A 03 Mercury Mountaineer With A Sunroof.... When I Bought Tha Truck It Had What Looks Like A 8" Flipdown INstalled In It.... I Wanna Take That Out & Replace It With My 15" Flipdown.... Tha Only Thing Is My Truck Dont Have A Beam So I Can Mount Tha Bracket To The Roof To Support Tha Monitor... What's The Best Way To Mount The Bracket Or What Other Way Can I Do It....
Jay, at the rear of the opening , behind the drivers head, there absolutely must be a support. It feels like a congregated piece of metal with a series of ridges and valleys. The only possible way that it wouldn't be there if it is an aftermarket sunroof, and even most of those have them with the exception of the tilt ups.
Hi. I'm really lazy and was wondering what is stopping me from putting the unit directly over a middle internal light and running a power line directly from the wire that would power said light?
Leigh Eastham You could definitely do that, however we do not recommend that type of installation. Most newer vehicles have light control modules and they need to see constant resistive loads. A monitor is not a resistive load, and this can cause all kinds of intermittent power issues.
I did this but because the ground is not really always ground I think it is why my battery keeps draining. I'm gonna change the ground wire to how it shows on this video. thank you for making this video! I did the install on an 07 Yukon.
Also, another problem with this install is that if the owner decides to go with another mfg for the drop down DVD, they most likely can't because now the headliner's cut too close to the leading edge of the sunshade bracket. Most dropdown DVD brackets are located approximately on the center of the DVD trim ring; oh well.
You can buy ones now that have those. I know your comment is from eight years ago but just letting you know in case you're still interested. I just installed a double din in my dash that does all of that and has mirror link as well, for $50.
@@CCo100 I ordered a cheap knockoff unit from eBay. Most players will not play specific video files because of current laws (like blu-ray files) so if you order one grab a Chinese made one. They don't care about rules or laws, mine plays every file. It was only like $40...(plus a wiring harness specific to your car for $10-$15)... Easy to do if you've ever hooked up a stereo, amp or subwoofers.
I don't understand why people buy a $40K car and then put a cheap aftermarket overhead DVD unit that may work several years that quit. Believe me, been there done that. Pay a little more for one that was installed from the factory that's covered under vehicle's bumper to bumper warranty. If you really need one, then go with universal headrest units. This way you can replace it easily if they die. Just not a good idea to be taking chance with the installer screwing something up like airbags.

Can dvd players be installed in any car
Yes they can!
Where does the audio come out from?
Want gauge of wire did u use ?

Peter Kim so if my monitor only has + and - wire. Would you recommend I go straight to the battery with a fuse on the + wire?

Bugger! I wish I knew everything that means, but is the crux of it that I should really get an expert to do it?
It's recommended but you could just as easily run a wire to the fuse box yourself for power. That's what we would do and so can you.
Cool. Thank you

Can I pay you to do this in my 2019 Ford F-150?!?!
Awesome!!!!
Glad you liked the video!
Thanks
it's call using those two things mounted on each side of the doors!!! They too are called mirrors.
Is it possible to convert a built-in DVD player to a flash video player w/USB or SD cards?

@@themarchhare1376 well, I'm trying to change my old dvd player for a new USB player, may I know how do you get your?

Awesome music too loud
@xianrhee Especially since professionals know the difference between a CR-V and a Pilot
You don't even explain the purpose of each colored wired. What the f?
