What about the liquid & debri that went FURTHER down and into the canal. Isn't that then stuck in the ear and a problem? The debri got washed down there. And does the wet dry out? No one answers that question. TY , you did a good job .
What a good boy! ...Reminds me so much of my golden while I clean his ears. ...ALL THE TIME. The zymox products seem to be quite good (I've tried everything). My only knock is that the Otic Enzymatic Solution has a weird ability to make the hair stick together, and turn into a giant mat very quickly. So I take a simple metal large tooth comb and comb through the wetness to reduce the potential. It still gets messy however. Otherwise, a good product.
My mini apple head chi's specialist said to never do this cotton ball maneuver and certainly NO qtips!? This is scary. I seriously hope people don't just think this is ok and end up damaging their ears,smh
How many applications might it take to cure a mild infection where there is only a mild yeast smell and mild inflammation? My dog always wants the inside of the ear rubbed because it always has that itch button. I don't think it is ever out of control but always in the back ground. Her ears stay pretty clean considering though. Thanks
When shampooing your pet which is a small terrier what can I do to prevent water? I used cotton ball but it seems to come out? Hi Dr. Lindsay..I could not believe about the cotton ball...we'll have to try that however a Golden's ears are bigger does that matter...my dogs ears are much smaller.. We use Zymox for a long time and it does work. Great Video!

Hey! Oh gosh the greasy hair is hard to get cleaned! But you can use Dawn dish soap and gently clean that ear hair without getting it in the ear canal.

I used it on one of my dogs ears that was pretty red and scratched in hopes that it would soothe it and she would stop scratching it. I thought the other ear might have been irritated too so I did that ear too. The next day the ears looked like it got a bunch of dry blood inside of the ear, way worse than it looked before I used the product. I put a cone on my dogs head so she wouldn’t mess with it so I don’t understand why it looks as bad as it does? I tried looking at it to see what exactly it was and I could tell she was clearly irritated by it. I’m going to take her to see a vet but was hoping for some possible feedback

Use the Zymox in the infected ear .. you don’t have to clean the ear just put the product in it and do this once a day for 5 days ... if still not better please go to a veterinary clinic
You don't stuff it in there. Just dab the outside lightly if it gets in fur. Otherwise the animal will shake it out on their own. Just wipe the outside, then dab the ear a little, dont put it IN the ear. Hope that helps.

She came to my home when she was 2,5 months, she was examined and the vet said that the ears were ok, I tried to clean the ears, but I had not been instructed about the technique so she developed a serious ear canal infection over 2 weeks! She had to undergo antibiotic therapy... It is particularly important for "diggers" which keep contaminating ears with soil. But here, you have forgotten to mention that in general dogs dislike the procedure, and they must be vastly rewarded each time after the procedure... (In my case, following another advice by Doctor Lindsay, it is a boiled egg). Greetings! =^^___)

I am trying to find a more thorough comprehensive video on the ear solution. So we’re just supposed to put this ear solution in the ear and let it sit until the next day it seems like it just keeps building up and building up and my cats ears look dirtier than before I want to clean them out not necessarily with a cleaner just a regular cotton ball to get the gunk out of there

LOL ALL animals shake their head when you put liquid in the ear! It's a natural reaction. Ever notice when they get wet they do it? Same thing. His ears were probably sore from infection as well, but she didn't do it.
You just have to do what you have to. You HAVE to rub the ears like that so it will get down into the ear canal. The infection causes waxy build up that can block the medicine from getting down to where it needs to be....so you have to break it up a little. Sometimes medical treatments are uncomfortable, just like people, but you have to do it for their own good.

Hey! Please go see your local veterinarian, your dog may have a bad infection that needs antibiotics or anti fungal oral pills
