Old video ik but if that’s your girl behind the camera dude you’re winning at life she’s asking the important questions to keep you giving knowledgeable answers props to you two both!
Not gonna lie i found this better than many pro fishing videos, I just started fishing again which I hadn't done since I was a kid an all the "pros" will say the same thing cast it out reall it in but you put some explanation behind things an i greatly appreciate that definitely subscribed :)
Thank You! I will apply this knowledge to Sebastian Inlet, FL I've personally seen MONSTER (48"+) Redfish caught there with live finger mullet. I've also seen and experienced a TON of snags on the rocks while chasing those trophies. Once again thank you for sharing your knowledge. Most people horde fishing knowledge like an old family recipe. You are truly a Legend in the making!
Wow I was fishing in this location and got snagged here more than ever which is why I searched for a video like this. What a coincidence it happens to be a video in the exact area I got snagged so many times!
30 years ago, there were million of herring, American shad, perch...etc. So much fish, school of herring look like a dark clound in the water, I still remember like yesterday. Now is very little , almost nothing compare to 30 years ago.
water quality is so much worse than it was. find a lake with zero boat access or houses. with a several mile hike to get to it required. you'd be amazed what you'll find
I like your ethics on releasing the big breeders. The noodlesocking was very interesting .It reminded me of my childhood days on my uncles farms where we cut our own bamboo poles, tied on some line, hook, bobber, and small weight. Fished many a farm pond catching bullhead, catfish and such as well as some lagoons! My how technology changed my old favorite!
I like the clear river and lots of fish. In this world there are thousands of beautiful rivers, it's a shame that many rivers in my country are polluted. I wish I could take a vacation and fish in a place like that. Good job bro
I live on a fairly large river, and usually use a Texas rig with a small hook and powerbait trout worms. Jigging and reeling as I go downstream, I usually get strikes immediately after the jig on the reel and the next jig I perform sets the hook. Easiest and cheapest method for rocky bottom fishing. Or I opt for a float/fly setup. Anything with treble hooks you might as well just throw it in the river unless you know a nice path to swim it through. Ultimately I suggest the Texas rig and feel the bottom. You might lose a few hooks and worms, but you will know where all of the snag areas are then throw out your more expensive spinner or rapala and take the path of least resistance.
Yeah, I fish rocky fast water. That's when I have the most fun. Give me a stream that's chocolate milk, and I'll be fighting through the smallmouth to get to the brown trout. If I have to I use split shot at least 6" and up to 12" above the hook. Less likely to snag. Also, technique is important. I can't cast upstream like usual. Sideways and let it go downstream. If snags, I just tighten any slack and move further upstream to free the rig. Try and keep line as vertical as possible.
Hey buddy love your channel...free tip from a doodlesocking guru over here 😆.that skinny end is prone to snapping. If you spiral wrap dacron from the thicker part up to the end through the eyelet, then loop to loop attach mono, uou won't lose your fish if the pole snaps...just a thought....I learn a lot from your videos...thanks for doin what you do dude.
Love grass carp. Good eating, good catfish and stripper bait, and the waste makes awesome fish emulation fertilizer. On the Colorado River, I use the hi low rig, bait and hook set up Texas rig style, with a pretty heavy, long drag weight on the end.
You know your in a good spot when the birds are fishing your fishing hole. BTW I like the pledge and have added to it. Take what I brought in and fill 1 bag of others trash on the way out. Thanks for the content
We have the same version in the Philippines (doodlesocking) but we use bamboo poles we call it (bolo) the thinner versions of bamboo. It is around the same length with the ones he is using but the line is longer, almost the same length as the pole. We use discarded rubber slippers as floaters, we cut it rectangular (about the size of anchovy) and hook at the end of the line. We use for for catching cichlids (tilapias) or ladyfish. It's a pretty good setup!
Yes! Snag city Columbia River West coast.. fun fishery but super rocky, tree limbs and branches on the bottom as well fast flows. Will be trying these, thanks!!
It's Pain in the Heart when My Wife doesn't understand how desperately I want to go out fishing and just pretend dumb when I insist going out. Its the Real Pain when your entire family stands against you. I am so much jealous of you. I just love your Life. Fishing is a Therapy for me but who will understand me and how will I make them understand. Many Thanks for your Videos. I literally feel myself being there. Thats just the best Spot.
@@SkyHeaven9 Main problem here is that she doesn't eat Fish or any Meat. But this is not the reason, she just worries if I get hurt or might get accident coz ours is a Place located in the Mountainous Forest area. We have to travel far by foot to reach the River. Thanks for your support 👍

Thank you for making so many helpful videos. I’m just into fishing for 3 weeks and I learned a lottttttttt from watching you fishing every day 😄. I’m still learning about different species of fish to identify and to follow the regulation about size limit.
Large mouth bass and not much salt water off the beach in Jacksonville Florida! By the way can you catch white perch in Lake Michigan because we are going to stay in a cabin on Lake Michigan? I love this channel! Can you do a another beach fishing vid! I can not believe you responding thanks!😅-Noah
One of the methods I like to use is to just use a much lighter jig and if fishkng really turbulent water is to scout the area and looks t the bottom and stand on a large rock that is in line with current and like for example just a curly tail grub or any lure eith action caused by water movement and just siet ther and John it a few times and wait for the magic to happen
I'm fishin'the Columbia river in Washington.. from the bank and there's boulders everywhere down there! I'm usin' 2-4oz led & I'll get snagged 7/10 times!
I live not 10 min from the Hudson river in upstate NY. I'm just down stream from the Adirondacks. I havent found a spot without rocks and moving water. I need to take a trip somewhere
I got a river down the road from me and finally fished it today with my boys, caught a small bass on a aglia lure which seemed to work great until it snagged and i had to cut the line.
Dude!! You was on the Potomac river!!?? That’s my part of the woods.. which side were you fishing?? Washington,, Maryland or Virginia?? That river can be soo scary and soo tranquil at times.. near key bridge you can catch rock fish so big you’ll need a deep sea pole to fish with and up near the power plant you can catch some pretty big channel cats, large and small mouth bass, carp, bluegills,, eels etc etc and in DC nothing is more fun than catching some herring as they run in April..
What exactly is that rod called that telescopes out and can be used as a walking stick? Really intrigued by that but I have no idea what to even enter for search terms. I either get walking sticks, canes, or bamboo fly rods trying to find something similar.
Try looking up pole fishing or tenkara. Tenkara is a little more specific as a style of fishing but it's still a telescopic pole. You can check out Ali Express and punch in fishing pole.
New subscribers here... in your videos would you please comment on where you are fishing. Simply the state and perhaps the coast would be helpful info. Also since we are just learning the fish would you please mention what the species is. We are enjoying your videos with so much learning. Thanks.
U can search in online shop.. At asia u can easily find in fishing shop. Im stay at malaysia and i can buy it from shopping platform like lazada and shopee.. Maybe u can find in amazon

Imagine the herons sitting there like "I gotta figure out how to use one of those stick things"
Yeah
Right wen I read this comment he caught 2 at once, meanwhile I cant catch one lmao
@techpjman lmfao, I feel your pain trust me lol
This happens to me pretty often spot I go has a big egret heron looking bird that just stares and shits in the water😂
They mainly just eat shad so a rod wouldn't really be useful to them.

Funny watching the fishing birds watch you, as if they are thinking, "do you really have to throw them back right in front of me"?
Good to see another bank fisherman. Who can't find fish with a fish finder? Fish the rivers enough - you won't need one.
My method is big ass bobber and sinker. Looks comical but never let me down so far
The way you tossed that first fish all nonchalantly made me lol

You are fun to watch Skipper. Not adding any extra personality on camera, just you. Hope I make it big like you one day with that many subscriber!!!!

snag city , yep here too, walleye water is rock and more rock, i use a reverse bucktail jig 1/8 oz at most and am very careful keep it moving
Its always nice to learn new things or just re learn old stuff

Educate them to eat more fish until they realize it's better taste if fish is wild caught.
Just go fishing. Don't let your wife tell you what to do. Be a man
