100% on the body cam. It's one of the most important pieces of gear you can get.
A couple years ago, a couple partners and I were looking for a guy in a hotel. When we get there it turns out that the mother of another skip was working as a clerk. We had just been at her house the day prior looking for her son. Well it was a pretty obvious deduction that if mom worked at this scummy hotel (seriously it was not a nice place) maybe her son was laying low there. Suffice it to say, the staff all the way up to the manager was not in the least bit helpful and extremely confrontational.
Long story short, we found her son in one of the rooms. The hotel later filed a police report, claiming we were kicking in doors, harassing customers, and cussing out and becoming violent with the staff.
The thing about body cams is that they do not lie. My partners and I simply went to the police when we heard they filed, showed them all three of our body cam vids and that was that, good to go.
Moral of the story, body cams keep you safe and protect you from lies.

However, I've seen some some sheriff's offices initially be reluctant to use them and after getting used to it becoming a fan. The pros outweigh the cons.

@@gruntwithripit1386 plus, while I’m not too sure on the onboarding process is for police officers, I feel like it’s worsened over the years and now we kinda need body cams more than ever. There’s been a lot of shit thrown towards policemen and I feel like the main problem is the assholes get away scot-free or with a little slap on the wrist. With Body cams, that could help not only keep the corrupt ones in check, but also help validate any cop’s business in court.
Say you need to search somebody’s car and they are resisting to come out, despite you having ample reason to (ie you smell weed or see something sketchy in the back). The body cam would help if they try to make any claims in court.

Here! This right here, as a firearms owner, is exactly the type of class that I'm looking for. I am of the firm mentality that if you are going to be an owner of a firearm(s), great! Always happy to see someone that's willing to do so. But also, you NEED to know what it's like to be on the receiving end of a firearm.
God forbid that you actually have to exercise that right of yours and have to shoot someone. It's a terrible, and messy thing to have to do, period. But, if it DOES actually come to that one day, how are you going to react? Are you gonna freeze up? Are you going to have the fortitude to fight back with your own piece? I certainly hope you do. I genuinely hope that you do.
But yeah. As much of a gun nut as I am, I'm looking for classes like that. An instructor that's willing to be rough and scare me a bit. To give me a glimpse of what it's actually like. So if the day ever does come for me to "rock and roll," I have a better chance at surviving. Just owning a gun and knowing how to shoot it, isn't enough.

So great seeing comments where people are just desperately trying to defame this guy for no reason at all.
Dudes a real person. As someone with a high voice myself, I assure you that our voice is not an indicator of skill or experience, shocking I know.
Not everyone’s gonna sound like Patty Mayo or Christopher Judge while doing authority work. Getting a job doesn’t change your vocal chords.
(Also funny seeing people who aren’t native to Montana trying to tell a native what Is and Isn’t the law there, like the food company roadkill thing)
    Lay off.

I have been a bail enforcer for 3 years, and I have never done a job for free. That is just ridiculous, the job is far too dangerous to be doing it for free. In my State we are required to be licensed, which I have to pay $400 to renew next month. We have to undergo roughly 150 hours of training before you can become licensed, including 32 hours of firearms training and qualification. We are also required to undergo 24 hours of continuous education training for each 3 year license period.

      @@praetorian9823
How is it stricter than police training? Police in my State must go through an academy that consists of 600 hours of training over a span of 16 weeks, I only had to do 159 hours of training. I am only required to do 24 hours of continuing education for each 3 year license period, police in my State are required to do 25 hours of continuing education training each calender year which includes 2 hours of training on mental health issues. They are also required to requalify with their service weapon at least once a year, there is no legal requirement for a licensed armed bail enforcer in my State to ever requalify with their service weapon after their initial qualification.

"I don't like to use my knee for pressure"
So I can tell he skipped the Jiu Jitsu self-defense class.
Knee-on-belly is a must-have side-mount variation to prioritize wrist control while pinning the hips and keeping both shoulder blades on the ground.
Use the posting leg to staple the near-side bicep, and now you have a hand free to Americana or Kimura the far-side arm to force compliance whilst moving to north-south, so you can move the arm behind the back with the armlock. The pressure on the shoulder joint will be tremendous and if they squirm out, they're breaking their shoulder first; yet, there is still a great degree of control in this joint lock. More so than the hammerlock, where police officers usually control only the wrist and push it up behind someone's back, because you are controlling the limb at its base joint. Not only that, you are also technically restraining the torso, as it cannot move freely when the shoulder is pinned. If you choose to break this shoulder, it will be a very deliberate choice.
Use verbal compliance to get them to get their hands open, out on the ground, and then together, secure a grip around the fingers and handcuff.
It is when you place the knee or shin across the neck, back, or chest, that it is specifically a problem. At that point, you are not attempting control. You are forgoing the strongest parts of your opponent's body, the legs, and are attempting to control them via mechanical compression of the chest/lungs. This is simply due to a lack of training and knowledge in proper submission grappling.
Go to a Jiu Jitsu or MMA gym.
Source: 13 years of training martial arts, 8 years specifically in MMA, including, but not limited to: Wrestling, catch wrestling, Judo, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Currently entering into the security industry with aspirations of bounty hunting and armed guard certs.
