    Watch collecting like any hobby is about an emotion...does the product elicit an emotion worth the price tag...for me and my 7” wrists....the form factor is spot on!!! It ain’t no Daytona but I don’t have deep pockets to justify that purchase...seiko FTW

    Well made video! Thank you!
    I think i actually read somewhere, that the bezel is indeed out of ceramic or ceramic coated.
    I myself love mechanical watches but if you want a mechanical watch with this complexity, you have to pay thousands...
    And as this is Seiko, wich brought the first quartz to the market back then. I think it's totally fine for it to have a quartz movement.

    Excellent, sober review. Hoping to pick one up for around $500 when they're back in stock and on sale, or hit the used market. It looks fantastic- and separates itself from many modern chronos with the reasonable case size. Subbed- hoping to see more great content like this in the future!

    Very good video. The only issue I had was when you mentioned the price. Everybody in the Seiko community knows that the prices of Seiko Prospex, hell, just Seiko watches in general, have gone up big time in the last 5 years.
    Now that they are adding sapphire crystals and sometimes ceramic bezels, or even diashield to make bracelets harder to scratch, Prospex models have gone past the $400 price point you mentioned for this particular watch. Seiko makes excellent watches, and people will pay the price for the next hot Seiko model.

    • @watchify1775
      @watchify1775  Год назад

      Yes, things like price are relative. If Seiko priced these prospex models too high, then of course we would not see certain models sell out so quickly. Thanks for the comment !

    If you have any doubts about the quality of this watch, especially about the bracelet, I suggest that you visit a seller and hold it in your hands. It is an amazingly well buit watch. Bracelet too is great. The "play" in the bracelet links is probably a design feature. It makes the differemce in comfort between a "bracelet" and a heavy "bangle".

    Its a nice watch that would look even nicer on a vintage leather rally strap imo. That bracelet doesn't fit well, on every review I have seen you can see the spring bars through a tiny gap. It is a lot of money, $1050 AUD for a quartz solar chrono though. Nice review ...

    I've really enjoyed this overview of the new SSC 813 Solar SpeedTimer Chronograph. Very well done and your "On Wrist" shots are superior to many other channels in that they're on screen longer and you've taken care to show all angles (My favorite angle is always the shot down the forearm which gives a fair representation of watch height how it appears in every day wearing.) My concerns are the (nearly) lack of micro adjustments for sizing and, contrary to many opinions, the relatively small 39mm case diameter. My preference would be to size this particular case at 42 to 43mm. Everything else is just as you say, very desirable. Namely the brushing, polishing, milled clasp, sapphire single dome crystal with a blue AR coating along with what looks on screen to be a ceramic tachymeter bezel. I've seen the other 3 colourways for sale at around $500 USD. However this factor is moot B/C I've not seen the "Panda" for sale at all in the last couple months. Maybe in the future? I hope so. You've easily earned a like and a new subscriber! Keep up the great work, your presentation is excellent. Cheers, Tim

    • @watchify1775
      @watchify1775  2 года назад

      Thanks for the comment! I see some panda versions on ebay usa in new condition for around 600$ but yeah, that's about 150$ more than the other colorways. Coincidently I am wearing the watch today. Seiko added some nice touches with this watch like the patina colored lume and the charge indicator. Still love having it in the collection but the quartz movement is running a little fast for my liking but it's within specs.

    • @1983simi
      @1983simi 2 года назад

      the size is indeed something to consider. i'm a woman - granted not super petite, but not hefty by any means either - and it looks perfect on my wrist. I do think if you're an average to taller-sized Western man it may end up looking a bit small.

    • @watchify1775
      @watchify1775  2 года назад

      @@1983simi You may have a point. Traditionally men's watches were much smaller than 38mm. Just like a watch can be too big for a wrist, I think one can look too small too. I have a 32mm Casio A168WA and it's a great watch but I feel it's just too small for my 6 3/4 inch wrist. A 38mm watch might be the equivalent for an over 7.5 inch Men's wrist.

      Here are the ways it’s a Daytona “wannabe”; it’s a chronograph and the panda color scheme. Everything else is completely different; subdial functions and color scheme, solar vs automatic, case shape, case size, bracelet style among other things. I’m not wearing my Daytona to work and would never put it on a nato strap, and I can do both with the speedtimer. I own an Oris Aquis Calibre 400, is it a submariner wannabe? It obviously is not despite both being divers, sapphire glass, ceramic bezel, and 300m water resistance
