      Recommend means optional and not required. Mainly for additional HP and better performance in long trips when driving on long grades with heavy load.
      My 2005 Sienna still runs flawlessly like new at 290k miles, mfr recommended premium unleaded but I always put regular except when going on road trips. Oil on dip stick looks clear even with 8000 miles since last oil change.

    Great review! Had the RX3 for 8 years now in FSport trim and can say hands down it’s been the best car I’ve ever owned. Looking forward to changing it to the 2022 model next year.
    Here in the uK there’s no power difference between any RX4 models. Note that 2022 is the last year for the 3.5V6 thanks to insane and illogical EU emissions regulations. Latest 2.54cl models are nowhere near as smooth and you have to question if they’ll be as reliable. No car weighing more than 2 tonnes should use a 2.5 litre…getting performance means extra stress on smaller engines which in turn will affect longevity. My guess? 2020 to 2022 models will hold values strongly on the used market.

    Hi Mr. Kirk. Honestly, when you said the sorts of people within the age range of 50 - 60 would most likely go for the RX 450h, I was in shock, better yet, I was freaking stunned because, I think it's a really cool vehicle to have for people of just about any age range who'd like to make it a part of their car collection, considering the major advantage it has - fuel economy. I wouldn't know what others would think though.

      False equivalency. 99% of the US drivers less than 100 miles a day. If you charge at home, which I do, then you'll never have range anxiety on a daily basis. Plus the Model X DMP is so much quicker and quieter than the RX Hybrid. I can charge every 3 days and never run out of juice on local trips.

      We just got the 2022 RX450h with luxury package and triple beam headlights and yes there are two options for these lights (one is auto-leveling and second one is with AFS) but good luck finding a built with AFS, they are pretty much non-existent and it's a shame because we used to have them on our 2008 RX and they were awesome on dark farm roads. The 2022 has cornering lights positioned next to the fog lights and they definitely help when turning into the driveway, but they only turn on at very low speeds, whereas AFS were bending into the curves at high speeds as well.

    Great review.
    I am a Toyota fan boy but just say that I wished Lexus offer more conservative styling and bigger trunk.
    For the size of the car, the trunk in the RX is pathetic. It is very shallow so it was hard for me to pack for a road trip. Eventually I got enough of it and stopped borrowing it from my family.
    In Japan, we get the CX-8 in diesel, which from my personal experience is a much better choice if someone needs AWD, decent motorway fuel economy and trunk space. For shorter people Mazda is also more comfortable.

    • @xhuynh23
      @xhuynh23 5 лет назад

      Eden Roth Actually thats messing with the computer systems and would probably link with a whole lotta other systems which there probably are limitations.....so changing that would lead to a series of other changes; this is more complicated than us consumers think(reprogram the computer softwares, synchronization redesign, etc....). A computer overhaul can quickly escalate & mess with a lot of things without a complete reset...Ultimately increased in cost which does not really justify to managements as the year isn’t an overhaul year so no budget granted for that for this year.

      @@xhuynh23 Maybe you're right. I have seen horrible electrical problems with BMW, Audi, Mercedez, they have minimum buttons here and there. Things control by touch screen and problems start. • @KirkKreifels
      @KirkKreifels  5 лет назад +1

      It all depends on your region. I'm in the central region and just about every F sport model comes with Mark Lev. Every luxury package we see gets ML too. Of course there are exceptions but overall that's where we see the ML. Your region could be much different on how they equip their vehicles.

      I will assume that most customers don’t know shit about audio because the ML is worth the upgrade over the terrible Lexus stock sound system. I work on a used car dealer and haven’t seen an IS ( my fav car ) with ML in 3 yrs working there. Note that the ES just got ML as an option on 2019 for the new generation.

No belt in the gearboxes and no belt in front of the engien ! no starter which have to crank in, not belt driven alternator or waterpump or orther things. Hybrid spare a lot of brakepads too if you drive normal. Doenside ist...yeah you not driving the newest model but fotunately Lexus did´nt change models such fast ;-)

    So, is it worth to buy RX hybrid? The older one was need 25 or 50 years (don’t remember exactly) to pay off the difference in price. Even $1500 more for new one it’s still no make sense to buy because of premium gas vs regular in non hybrid. Lexus doing nice cars, but their hybrids it’s just a joke. For example Nx hybrid have less power and much more fuel consumption vs RAV4. I feel like new innovation in hybrid it’s going to Toyota, for Lexus goes grandpa’s technology
