  • It's finally time to get back in the gym and start some upper body work! After some long weeks of completely resting the stress fracture in her hip, Lucy is feeling great to finally be able to do something active again
    With advice from specialists, Lucy is able to start some strength work in the pain cave- focusing just on the upper body. We have even come up with some creative ways to use equipment without involving the hip... 🛼
    Thank you for following along on this journey, we look forward to bringing more updates as Lucy is able to introduce more training and rehab into her recovery!

    This reminds me of one fatefull evening in the summer of 2020. I'm Ascending the Alp du zwift from the comfort of my hot shed when disaster strikes, A wasp enters the arena determined to ruin my day. I was on for a PR so I decided to press on with the wasp frantically buzzing around me, it was scary bussiness but i managed to make it to the top without getting stung, got the PR and let the little fella on his way 🤣Result! Glad to see your getting better, I know it must be frustrating not being able to train but i know you will come back even stronger! Looking forward to your return! 💪🚴🏽‍♀🏃🏽‍♀💨💨

    I laughed so hard when lucy rowed using the roller blades. I dont know why i found it weird but really is a genius idea

  • @graceblackhall4236
    @graceblackhall4236 3 месяца назад

    In regard to the rowing machine technique, a simple tip: think to extend the legs, lean the upper body back and then pull in the arms as you move up the stroke. Then on the way back extend the arms, lean the upper body forward and flex the knee. So simply: legs, body, arms then arms, body leg.
    I hope this helps🙂

    I am not a regular viewer of your channel, but this popped up today. Didn't know about your injury. I went through bilateral hip replacement and had one knee also replaced. When using crutches, my therapists made sure I knew that crutch movement was the same as my arms moving when walking, so right foot forward, left arm forward. I am sure your trainers know about this, and I am guessing that you are not really getting full weight bearing on the injured hip. Hope it goes well for you. I am a swimmer now days, no running, and some biking.
    As always, Lola steals the show....

    You really should check out the program called functional patterns. They work on reducing compression in the body, and they go off the basis that the human body was built to run! Lifting is not technically “functional” towards running. Their program I promise you will make you feel better than ever, and will make you win.

      And I’m not spam or a commercial or anything, I just personally train with them with my girlfriend, and the results are absolutely insane, because it actually works. It avoids all Injuries if done correctly.

    The rowing exercise looked intresting, but surly that technique would create imbalances in your leg strength? (R leg becoming stronger)

    • @anonymeralkoholiker2913
      @anonymeralkoholiker2913 2 года назад

      You will get imbalances either way when one leg is hurt. Theres is no point in letting the other leg fade away as well. Also I dont think those high repetitions cause a gains in strength that are comparable to real weight training.
