Hello Vanessa, I am 69 years old and have sewn all of my life. I recently retired and starting watching a lot of tutorials to help me learn new techniques. I wanted to tell you that you are the best instructor I have ever watched. You do a great job of explaining what you are doing. Keep up the great work.
One of the best tutorials I've seen on attaching binding tape. I've watched a lot of videos on how to attach the ends and were never clear on how to do it. Your video was extremely clear and informative. I finally feel like I can attach the ends of binding tape using your method. Your videos are very informative and easy to understand. They contain so many helpful tips. Thank you.
Very good tutorial without a lot of annoying music. Just straight forward and to the point. A lot of RUclipsrs could learn a thing or two from you! Loved the tutorial. Will be making this later today. Thank You!
Just found this tutorial. .The camera work and close ups of the work is amazing and really helped me to see exactly what needs to be done. Great job and thank you for such a great tutorial and wonderful gift idea.
I have made 9 of these. And have a few more to go. The walking foot is a big helper. And cutting the binding on the biasis is a blessing. The more you quilt the lengthwise and the hands the happier you will be. These are Christmas gifts and i am so happy. I have used Insulbrite and cotton batting. Thank You Vanessa.
I don't know how many binding tutorials I've watched. Your's made the most sense and it was like a light bulb going off! Yay! Thanks for the great tutorial. I've made 3 so far and only about a lot more to go lol!
I made this today and getting ready to do needle work for binding. I will admit that even with the walking foot I did have some difficulty keeping fabric even, I changed to my Teflon presser foot with better success, didn’t have any problems with thickness as I have a heavy duty machine. Thank you for the tutorial and pattern 😊
Thank you for a great Tutorial. I made one with my old scraps of material and it came out fantastic, I also did a little quilting on the front. Received some great comments from family and friends. My son asked me to make one and it is a lovely gift idea and a friend has asked for one as well. Nice Christmas present. I will never buy Bias Binding again now that I know how to make my own thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Vanessa... you are a genius.Measuring the tail an additional length of the width of the binding; 2", 2-1/2" measuring and cutting. I'm in love. Thank you.
Nice, I enjoyed the video and learned a lot.Have never been a stitcher but I inherited my moms sewing machine and by watching videos I surprised myself and have made a lot of different things for people.I enjoy sewing now.🙂
Hi Vanessa. I'm really enjoying watching your tutorials, even though I've been sewing for fifty years! Guess you really can teach an old dog new tricks. Thank you for this great Christmas gift idea. Can't wait to get started!
Best tutorial ever. Everything was done easy and in layman‘s terms so that we beginners can understand perfectly no missteps. I’m going to subscribe to this so I don’t miss any more of her tutorials. Perfect perfect perfect and I can’t wait to make these for Christmas gifts
Thank you for explaining so clearly and concisely the details of the binding and the mitt as a whole. I really enjoy and learn from your videos, thank you again!!
Thank you, a very informative tutorial and I’m looking forward to making it. Also making the bias binding instructions and finishing it off at the end of the project will be helpful for any of my future crafts that need it. Thank you.
Made two now, one with glue and one without, ( could not wait till glue turned up in the post ) must admit the glue although quite tricky to get the hang of, was the better of the two, love watching your channel, learning so much thank you
OMG I love you girl!! I love all your tutorials!! I appreciated the glue trick!! I've struggled with putting binding on anything and thanks for bias binding lesson!! I have 5 quilts and 6 wall hangings waiting to finish hand sewing the bindings!! I'm going to go buy the glue and finish those bindings!! GREAT job speaking and explaining each step clearly and slowly!!
I have rewind this time and time again, best ever description and details would love to see a bit more of the backside of the binding stitching I can never get it lookinfg really good and even. Have made 3 on the roll since first coming across this. Thanks
thanks Vanessa! You cut the binding differently - but I like it your way better!. Also, I wish I had seen this video 3 days ago (I was in hospital) as I just finished mum's double oven mitt. Mine worked ok, but your is so much better, and simpler. I will remember for future- thanks you are so easy to follow! Cheers
I'm so glad I decided to watch your video after watching another one because they didn't tell us how to cut the strips on the bias they just told us that we needed to do it. What a great method you showed us thank you so much!
Hi, thank you for another fun project. I have learned a lot from your videos especially the way you ended the binding. Wow, why didn't I think of that?! Now I have to abandon the way my mom taught me many, many years ago :-) Very fun project. Thank you

That bias binding finish! The entire video was worth it for that one tip! I made a jacket that used bias tape finished edges, but I couldn't figure out how to end it nicely.
If you are interested, there was a new video put out not too long ago that had a super easy way to finish that binding. Because the way she’s doing it is actually very difficult it’s awkward and the new way is unbelievably easy
