personal experience: it is better to schedule workout or fitness goals towards evening or night because when i used to workout first thing in the morning and after that having a meal and getting a few hours of work done i was already pretty exhausted and i mean 3 hours max. and i couldnt recover for the rest of the day properly. so i learned to start my morning with a shower first thing in the morning followed by a coffee. Now I organise my workout in the evening and it has helped preserve my energy throughout the day.

I do not understand this gender bias. Productivity videos provide knowledge, but why does gender in these videos even matter? If you use Uber don't they send a Male driver anyways when you want a safe ride home? Is the bank you use mainly dominated by Male control and you still use these services?

this was so on point! Especially the breaks, I do better when I have active breaks away from my desk like cleaning or walking or making sure I actually eat during my lunch breaks. I always say I’ll eat while I work but then I’m too distracted by my work to ever finish my food, so eating breakfast BEFORE signing online and eating during lunch is important. My last job was so active physically and now being at a desk at home had me super sleepy the first 4 weeks 🥲

The one I would add that I have to do some is if you are wanting to procrastinate, start small. It's easier to talk yourself into doing something if you know you only have to do something that will take a few minutes. Then once you get in those few minutes, you can do anything you want, but chances are that you will want to keep going once you get the first few minutes in.

I am about to reach one year working from home so pretty much nothing compared to you but something that helped me is to understand that if I can't work, if the inspiration is not there, I need to stop trying, do something else for a few hours and come back later.
I am still at the point where I do everything and I work very long days, so if one afternoon nothing is working right, it's not a big deal.

ALL TIPS GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Am new to WFH so was searching for info around this and found your video, THANK YOU!!!! Shifting gears from being a clinic office nurse to working from home with a different title is so different, this video hit home and makes sense now why I have been struggling. I've been so used to the "leaving home" home routine and all that goes with that preparedness, like the grocery list, the errands the kids needs before I even leave the house in the morning. Giving myself some grace around this transition but also noticing perhaps a fear that productivity is going out the window, Yikes. This video provides exactly what I need right now, Thanks so much!

Schedule all parts of your day is essential. I also WFH the vast majority of the time and this is something I have always done. AM, PM evening- everything gets a basic time slot and all times are generally accounted for. This is like a budget and lets you optimize efficiency and feel more relaxed.

Yup slower start and longer ends. That’s me.
Yup find a spot (dining table sucks) now that I have an office, my husband keeps using it.
Yup working at all hours and on weekends
Yup scattered focus (wearing all the hats), move the needle, do the uncomfortable
Yay, I eat well, got that one nailed
Breaks? My whole day feels like a break so I linger in my office and don’t allow myself to go outside running. Not good.
Yay, I schedule pretty good. But I never thought of scheduling my routine (Breaks and check out including). I’ll do that.
    3. Controlling news intake. For sure! I control Everything that comes in including in the car!
    2. Connect with people face to face is the healthy way to run life and business.
    1. Communicate with the people around me? Never thought about that. I just do my work like a grinder and not bother anyone.
    Love you Pat

I’m now working from home for three years - main challenge especially at the beginning was lack of social contacts resulting in the fact that too much work was discussed with my wife, And also one should not underestimate the effect of the social contacts one has in a company over the day, which are not there when you were working from home.

These are things that I've also had to learn along the way. Sometimes it takes a while to implement these changes, so if someone is struggling remember that if you fail today you can sill get back on track tomorrow or the day after 👍 We tend to abandon habits as soon as we slack for a day, and it doesn't have to be that way! Missing a day does not equal complete failure 🙂

I quit my corporate job, got married and started a new business as a music teacher, performer and event producer last year just before the pandemic hit. It's been a rollercoaster ever since. I can deeply resonate with what you said to - Find your Spot. I was using my sister's room as a home office while she's in abroad. When the lock down happened in our area because of Covid-19, my cousin took refuge in our home and he used my sister's room (my home office). During that time, I transferred to our dining area to do some work - my productivity dropped. There were plenty of distractions as I can just go to our food storage immediately to get some snacks and eat, go to sala and watch Netflix, or be called up by my family to do something as I am always in their sight. When I had the room back as my cousin transferred to another room, I am becoming productive again.

Thank you for this content. Regardless of the time it was created it still holds its value. Being a military retiree and now going into a remote job, I believe connecting with people face to face will be the most challenging part. However, I will make sure to give it my best based on your advice and tips. Thank you again.

Many thanks for all thiese tipps!! I would make point 2 even deeper. HAVE social life, nurture your social life and friendships, AND schedule social life events. I would definitely not recommend to replace that with online meetings. In person social life and nurtured and intimate friendships are important to us all, but when you are at home the whole week, working alone, those people you meet in person are increadibly important for emotional and mental health.

Thank you for sharing this information. The one I chose was #5 - Taking breaks. As being a work-a-holic, I have to learn how to take breaks. I get caught up into my assignments and try to finish them in a timely fashion without taking a break (whether at home or at work). I am learning through this video.

Hello, great video! I've been working remotely since March 2022. I love it but it's starting to take its toll with isolation. I found your communication point very relatable and felt embarrassed to think that I don't communicate anything to anyone. I'll check out your other videos, thank you!

I agree, good video ...in my case, a morning routine that in between other things include stretching exercises, meditation, short cardio session, and ends with a cold GOD FORSAKEN shower really helps me feel prepared for work. Another is to know when extending work hours and "going the extra mile" is really necessary and if not then just close the computer, add it to my work agenda for the next day (so that it is out of my mind ), and move on. Cheers!

Thank you for this, I've been working for some time now remote, I consider myself a relatively smart person and good at my job but I must be humble to admit that I've developed a serious problem of focus, its just that my mind try to find a lot of excuses to not work, like that my job is not really that important, my task is not really that important, and a lot of times fooling myself with things like that I'm wasting my life if a focus 5/6 hours a day of good work, but in the end I just don't work and feel the burden and shame of another improductive day, anyway I decided that this next week will be different and I'll start with small steps, first being humble that I will not figure out things by myself and I should follow a method to focus (your video was very helpful on this), and second that I will start small, I will not be mr. productive guy working 8 hours focused in the first day, I will start small trying to focus a couple of hours and then will get better with time, thanks.

Great video Pat. I'm not there yet. I'm not working from home (*still hustling+working*)
Nevertheless, all those tips hit home for me because as I'm building my online business I'm still juggling a 10-12 hours job, kids, wife, and other responsabilities and...
... I *forget to communicate* sometimes, *I don't pay attention* to my wife (rarely, but it happens) ... honestly, all hit home😊
My litle corner is a little DIY stand up desk in a little corner in my kitchen😀
