On Fridays I set a side time to schedule the up coming week, I find it more productive since my brain is still in work mind set, and on Monday mornings I just follow the plan.
Maintain Regular Hours. Set a schedule, and stick to it... ... Create a Morning Routine. ... Set Ground Rules With the People in Your Space. ... Schedule Breaks. ... Take Breaks in Their Entirety. ... Leave Home. ... Don't Hesitate to Ask for What You Need. ... Keep a Dedicated Office Space.
The blocks of time idea has been huge for me lately. One update to that for me was not to block time to work on a "todo" list, but to set intentions for what I wanted my energy to be put to during this time. That has taken some of the stress out of trying to power through a todo list. This has been peaceful for me because by setting those intentions I am able to feel productive because I am nudging along the projects I want to move forward in a way that doesn't feel like I'm beating myself up if I don't get it done. Thanks for another super thoughtful video!
Agreed. I'm similar to you. Sometimes blocking time doesn't work but I have to make it more dynamic to fit my mood. Being creative during the lockdown to create videos is a big focus for me and will be what I spend time blocking time to do.
Cook once eat twice. We cook on Mon-Wed-Fri and "eat twice"(leftovers) on Tues-Thurs-Sat. We wildcard it on Sunday. On cook days we use two crockpots and slow cook as much as possible so even on cook days we minimize food prep time.
The first 5 supercharge productivity. I like starting with yearly, monthly, weekly goals! GAIN CLARITY FIRST! I’ve never heard of the friday finisher list, but I’m going to start using that ASAP! Also, really need to schedule my email and social media time. This video is full of fire 🔥 Thanks
What are some of your yearly goals? After the lockdown I've had to change mine to adapt to the creative projects that I wanted to work on like launching a YT channel with my fiancé. It took months to finally muster up the energy to do it. Email and social media took up way too much space + time...
Thanks for the effective work from home tips, Brendon!! Your charisma is unmatched. You inspired me to start my coaching business...and start my channel! Thanks B :)
Since I spend much of my time before the computer I like to go to my window and look at the distance, look at the blue sky at trees, and green plants in general. It's good for your eyes. By looking at my outside surroundings it helps me take my mind off myself and gives me a broader perspective. I also take some deep breaths and look at the birds. After that I feel more peaceful and with a greater sense of well-being.
Great video Brendan. I started working at home and fell into a terrible place for almost 2 months. I'm finally back on track, listening to your audio book and filling out my planner again. I do enjoy essential oils while I work. And I invested in an apple watch and put my phone away during work hours. Social media browsing detailed me.

Muchas gracias Brendon por tu video. Es increíble cómo he cambiado desde que conozco tu canal. Deseo para ti que el universo siempre traiga lo mejor a tu vida.
I live alone in my apartment and it gives both advantages and disadvantages. Alone, I need to do all the cooking, cleaning, grocery, laundry, etc. But also alone, I am able to manage my activities based on the schedule I set for the day. Every morning, I prepare my healthy morning shake and food for the day for 1 hour, then proceed with my 1 hour Priming Meditation + Prayer Time + Planning Session. Then 1 hour exercise or dance to move my body and then self-care. I will work on my daily agendas only right after doijg all these. It gives me a sense of direction when I do all these. Thank you Brendon for your message today. ☺️
This is a solid routine, Aben. It sounds like some positives are that you get a lot of flexibility with how you spend your time which is a beautiful thing. Do you ever incorporate others via phone/video chat to stay productive?
Hi Devin. Thank you for your reply. I lead a spiritual community and I have 15 heads reporting under me. And a total of 80-100 active volunteers during Quarantine. Now that we do things online and we are expanding our reach, Yes, I guide them and give directions and empower them. Because it’s a voluntary work, it’s a good challenge how to make them work with me for a common vision while they work on their job, business and family matters.
Hi Brandon. Thank you so much for always being there for all of us ...I absolutely love and enjoyed listening to your uplifting talks and learn.... today is there decided to leave a 1st time comment - I am in health and wellness, I myself have been dealing with them .. I wanna share some of my favourite combinations of refreshing TIME OUT techniques between work blocks - a matter of relaxing between hard focus ( I am a former athlete and a welness coach now ) meditation type are endless - 1. . just breathing deep for 3-7-11 times and maybe more special breath techniques .. 2. music listening. 3. Acknowledging resent 3-7 successes for the past week or month. 4. Count at least 3-5 blessing and take few minutes to acknowledge the feeling of gratitude 5. . just breathing and meditating ALL those could be combined with - while walking, stretching or playing tennis and singing along ! or simply Laying Down - Do it at beach, park, a balcony or just in bed or on the floor -- sometimes 15 minutes - it’s all you need to refresh mind and body ... and makes a huge difference ( many of us feel liek we can’t afford often a full hour to work out ). for more ideas and training feel free contact Lala Green on Facebook book or Instagram @AdventuteWithLala
I'm a Math teacher from Brazil and I'm working from home as well. I have two jobs, but in both I'm a Math teacher and I'm trying to do my best to help my students as much as I can. They love me, even though they hate Math... It is the first time I'm working from home and from my perspective, it's going to be challenging since I have no experience. You have been helping me a lot with your videos. Keep it up, please! You rock, man!
It is kind of you to keep helping your students even though they hate math. I struggled with math my whole life and wish I'd had a teacher as caring as you.
Agreed! What goals are you going to get started on as a result? I'm working on prioritizing my creative projects as I tend to get hyper focused on work.
I haven’t been working for 7 months and will be starting my new job next week. This was perfect timing! Thank you and your team for covering this topic!
YES BRENDON!! YOU ARE RIGHT!! SOCIAL MEDIA KILLS THE TIME!!! I really gotta discipline my time putting my time in social media browsing newsfeed! ITS A CRAP!!! Haha! Your videos really helped me alot! I’d rather listen and watch these videos with substance than feeding my mind with garbage from social media
Being creative during the lockdown to create videos is a big focus for me and will be what I spend time blocking time to do. What are you working towards?
Thank you! Working from home has been a transition to my best self. I still need to work on a few things but your tips aee helping me to grow as an employee and as a business 🙃
I just wanted to thank you for covering this, I have been really struggling with being organized and productive and I am getting angry with myself for it.
I got angry with myself too during the beginning of the pandemic. Being creative during the lockdown to create videos is a big focus for me and will be what I spend time blocking time to do. I learned that it was more important for me to take some much needed time off rather than trying to pinch myself to be hyper-productive...
OMG....I needed this content! I also am re-reading The Motivation Manifesto. With me WFH and now kids school from home this will be imperative! Great, great video. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Due to pandemic, we are obviously very worried about family & friends. Scheduling contact makes it less stressful. Also must schedule time to explore new things and read books. In the NZ & other countries they are starting to implement 4 day week, which is great news for personal development.
After the lockdown I implemented a 4 day work week in my business. It's helped us tremendously and keeps focus on the most important things. Being creative during the lockdown to create videos is a big focus for me and will be what I spend time blocking time to do.
Hey Brendon, thanks for the energy! I would love a video about how to stay motivated doing something that you DON'T love. I love my profession but now I have to write a thesis and I can't find the motivation
Excel spreadsheets have enhanced my relationships! My fiancé jokes that it's one of the main reasons we get along so well. 🙂 Being creative during the lockdown to create videos is a big focus for me and will be what I spend time blocking time to do.
Brendon, your videos are so rich... they have so much "meat" that I have to watch them more than once to get all the information! lol. . Very useful and practical information. Thank you so much for that! :) P.S. How's the Spanish learning going??
Incense!! Ha I love that you mentioned that! For me the power of scent! And I am picky with scents so it has to be the right scents for me personally completely help me stay in the zone!!! ❤️ thanks! Great video! This is so helpful working at home!
I think the stuff that works for me after a long day is exercising. Get out and get fresh air. With regards to meetings, it depends on how it is organised. I call mine workshops where we solve difficult topics together.
Thanks for this, Brendon! I hate weekly meetings to be honest because if it just about updates, that can be done via email or under a project management app. I need to really schedule emails and social media and stick to it. ☺️
Great video! I usually participate in our virtual exercise presented by our company fitness team. I take supplements and drink tea instead of coffee as much. Thank you!
It's time you have set aside for a very specific purpose. If you planned for an hour in the gym or a hour for a doctor's appointment or a couple for taking the car to the shop for fluid changes, those are examples of block time. Nothing except emergencies get in the way of your block time. If I can, I set aside an hour and a half around lunch time to take a nap or at least a 20 minute nap. It has to happen unless a real emergency interferes
Sometimes I need to step away from the desk (both day job and side gig) and go for a walk during working hours. If I don't make that break over the course of the day, I start to feel like I'm not taking care of myself properly. If I don't take care of myself, I won't have enough for the rest of the world, including energy.
My tips: > Sleep consistent hours, 7 days a week > If you can't have a dedicated office space, at least change the context: different desk, different computer/account, facing a different direction on the same table... anything to tell your brain it's work time. > Use an app or account that blocks social media, games, or anything else tempting while working.
Great tips, Dave. My biggest change was setting aside 'Power Hours' where I work on a dedicated block of work for a short time. Being creative during the lockdown to create videos is a big focus for me and will be what I spend time blocking time to do.
It uses my biorhythm. In the morning, until noon, I'm more productive, so then I do the more difficult things, and leave the easier ones for the second half of the day.
During my block time, my brother is playing sometimes PUBG with his akm (hope u know the gun's sound) I want him to play it silently , But he is procrastinating to use his headphone. How to get rid of this situation without diluting our bonds ? Do any of You have any suggestion ? Please.
In my country most online work just finished and my problem now is there is a lockdown and I’m the laziest person in this world 🤕 can you help us how to make new things In this summer specially we are not able to visit new places , I just think of learning Germany although I’m not good enough in English 🤦♀️😂😂😂 but the problem is I love sleeping more and Netflix m
I'm sorry but if I have inspiration to write and a clock buzz me to stop and take a brake, I don't think I can do it. If a plane is taking off and accelerates, you cannot stop it. I'm not a robot...
