Ha ha. I have had a few other people point out other things I have said in videos that were recorded at Cedar Point in the mid-nineties. Despite some belief, I am not a time traveler but just have decent intuition. :)
I caught that reference to Idora Park in the background talking as well! Too bad we didn't get a chance to walk the park before it was razed like Chippewa! Tons of incredible memories!
@@SeanFlaharty Life has never been crazier but I wouldn't change a thing! We have a laundry list 900 miles long and ever growing for the museum but we need to keep digging if we want to se the light at the end of the tunnel!
Man, this brings back memories! I remember how excited I was about Batman and Superman. Superman was the first of it's kind wasn't it? I remember riding it the first time in early 2000. It took my breath away, much like M. Force did the first time I rode it. I liked Geauga when it was Six Flags Worlds Of Adventure, which didn't last very long. I liked the animal area. I really miss Geauga Lake and all of it's rides, especially the old ones like the Big Dipper. I still can't believe it closed down in.....2007 I think. I was there during one of it's last days and didn't have a clue it was about to shut down for good. RIP Geauga Lake. :(
Wow Sean. The darn footage that you have is just incredible. Crazy how far coaster designing has come. Did they relocate any of these coasters after closing? Thanks S~
Yes I believe the flying coaster got relocated to Kings Island and then after that it was relocated to Carrowinds (although it’s likely getting scrapped for good soon so get your rides now)
Man, I'd love to hear you talk about what it was like to be a coaster enthusiast during these days. Like I imagine all photos/ videos shares amongst people were individually downloaded or even had to be mailed discs/ vhs? what things were online versus what was physical newsletters? I was a wee tike during these particular years so I can only guess based on my earliest coaster forum experiences being... 2002? when ttd was announced
You are correct. I used to trade VHS tapes with other enthusiasts. That was the way it was done back then. When things went digital, it was all about DVDs. Newsletters and magazines were the way to find out info. Once red-roller-coaster become known, it was the place for news. Once the website forums came to be, it was much easier to find info. It was a cool time to be involved in this hobby.
@@johnfoltz8183 While this is true, I also didn't count the old Arrow shuttle coaster at Camden Park. I missed the coaster when it operated at Kings Island and missed riding it at Camden by one day. One. It closed for good and never reopened. I ran into someone I knew while at the park who worked in the industry. He was selling the park a small flat ride package. He somehow managed to get the staff to allow us to walk up the stairs and sit in the train for a picture. It's the closest I have to riding the it.
That was a good ride. I have been going through my archives again and found some footage of the coaster from a commercial shoot I was at. I hope to upload that within the next few months as I have some more older stuff being released soon.
2:55 8 years later this coaster would be sitting in the parking lot at Kings Dominion awaiting assembly there
It's crazy how only 23 years later its all gone
“Back seat ride is going to be WICKED” that is some crazy foreshadowing for the other park down the road

That would have been a lot of fun. I hope all is well with you.

As a guy who has always lived 25 minutes from GL, this hurts so much
Damn
I remember went there in the year of 2000 riding Superman Ultimate Escape,

I believe the first Intamin Impulse was Linear Gale at Tokyo Dome park in Japan. But Superman at SFO was the first one with a twist.
Amazing
Nice 👍

@Sean Flaharty This Place Is Gone Right ?
Yep :(
👏👏👏👏
👍👍👍
RIP Six Flag's Ohio AKA Geauga Lake
Does sitting on dissembled roller coaster track count as a credit?
Ha ha. Not quite but it's still fun.
Technically speaking, you were literally on the coaster, or at least sone of its track sections
