Chris, of all the 2024 Six Flags announcement videos I've watched, you blew those out of the park. So much more interesting to listen to your narration of the information. Thanks for making the effort to make it more enjoyable to listen to👍
This is honestly one of the best years for additions in the last few for Six Flags, I must admit. Sure not every park is getting something new, but that’s probably the better way of doing it. Also, I’m praying Mind Eraser is rideable now. Coyote Creek was a good, but very dead and neglected area, so this was much needed.
Just when I thought Mind Eraser at SFA was finally gone, it rises from the grave like a zombie. I know they’re “renovating” it, but the last time I rode it, it was so unbearably rough that I genuinely think it’s beyond saving. That said, I do appreciate the retheme of that area. There seems to be an old west town in every Six Flags park, so making it more steampunk will at least be unique.
New trains won’t save a bad SLC. Condor in Walibi Holland (the OG SLC prototype) is still a P.O.S. even after getting the new trains. They even permanently run the last two cars empty because those seats are deemed too rough. At this point they should remove it - it’s beyond saving. And I think this is the case with Mind Eraser too, but guess we’ll have to stick with for a while now.
I keep hearing about the Boss being RMC'ed, but I really hope it will be this!! SF St Louis needs ANOTHER Rollercoaster, not another replacement. And the boss isnt a bad ride, it could just use some trackwork.
As much as I love Great Adventure getting Flash Vertical Velocity. I do hope they have some kind of turntable/dual loading system to help capacity. Those days when The Chiller would only run one side the lines could be brutal.
Yeah they definitely need that but honestly the lines don’t get too bad in GAd anymore anyway. I think the park has enough to do that crowds get pretty spread out. I waited like 10 minutes for Jersey Devil it’s opening season
@@TheEpic22 All my visits to Great Adventure has had very minimal lines as well. Jersey Devil has often had no line. I was even walking onto Kingda Ka, and riding El Toro 6x in a row without getting off. I don't know if I've just gotten lucky, or if the park usually is able to spread the crowds out to keep lines down.
@@OklahomaCoasterFan Part of it is the park is well spread out to keep crowds down, both in terms of how much there is to do but also just in how large the park is in area. Part of it is also that I think it’s just not as popular as it used to be. Post Covid there just seems to be fewer people, but not by too much. 5 years ago kingda ka would always have a line going into the bamboo staggered area of the queue, but now it’s always a station wait. Maybe the operations have improved or maybe it just attracts smaller crowds. El toro too used to be a 30-40 minute wait most days but now it’s rarely longer than 10. I think it’s also a matter of luck. Crowds typically move around throughout the day, sometimes there’s a lot of people by el toro and the line gets a bit longer and other areas are dead. I’ve noticed recently the kingda ka/el toro side of the park just isn’t as busy as the side with Nitro and batman and such causing the lines on the ka side to be shorter while rides like Wonder Woman, batman, etc… get a bit longer. I think part of this is that the nitro side of the park has gotten a lot more investment lately and the ka side has kinda gotten old in parts and worn out. Definitely interesting. I’d like to see their average daily visitor numbers over the years to see if it’s a matter of dwindling popularity or just better efficiency by the park
This is my concern with the ride. Besidss the fact its literally an off the shelf ride for their 50th anniversary, a boomerang is a terrible addition to a park as a large as great adventure.
As an Illinoisian enthusiast, I’m very excited for the giga discovery. I don’t believe I’ve ridden a flat ride at great America, because we’ve always ridden the coasters. The discovery would most likely be the first. Still holding out hope that 2025 is the year for the single rail though.
I'm from illinois also, and have been around here for my whole life so when I was younger all I could do was mostly the flat rides. They are good, I just think it's going to be nice to have one that's better (although maybe not better than the bumper cars, which are some of the best in the world)
@@gavinschmidt8993 I hadn't seen Flume 1 going in years, but my last visit back in July had both flumes open, which I thought was a nice surprise. Flume 1 also did look like it had some work done on it, and now I guess we know why.
My Six Flags park is Great America and I’m all on board for the Zamperla Giga Discovery next season. But I also believe there may be more than one thing in the works as the plot by the old Buccaneer Battle is still unaccounted for. Plus the rumored removal of the go karts next to that opens up a huge space. Don’t give up on the possibility of an RMC single rail just yet.
Chris, 1. I'm happy my home park (Six Flags America) is finally getting something. That 'Coyote Creek' area really needed a refresh, the buildings look worn beyond despair; Renegade Rapids don't operate in colder weather. I'm glad (TCFKA) Mind Eraser is getting new trains with vest restraints. 2. Super Boomerang looks cool, only thing is capacity. Maybe they'll have a switchtrack (like the Mr. Freeze coasters) to have two trains.
Be honest, Great Escape’s announcement was one we didn’t see coming. Also, the layout shares similarities with an overseas gravity group called Timber at Walibi Rhône-Alps.
@@AirtimeThrills it’s been my home park my whole life. I’ve ridden alpine bobsled a ton (mostly as a kid 20+ years ago) kind of sad to see it go just for the novelty, but I think I can speak for the whole area by saying “we never thought we’d see a new coaster.” Mostly due to the politics, but also because we felt forgotten. This is absolutely incredible. Wish it was more thrilling, but this still looks like it will have some air time and a sick wave turn at least. I’m so pumped! Comet still rocks though.
So excited to have the off road adventure back. Not having it really hurt the park imo, new coaster by cyborg is a welcome sight, that area of the park needs a coaster. Excited to hear what the revamp of the log flume will look like, maybe we’ll get an extra drop like Over Texas. Also the new path has potential. There’s quite a few spots in the park that are frustratingly laid out to make navigating inconvenient
So exited for Sky Striker! I went to Cedar Point in early June, and I loved Maxair. And since SFGA is my home park, I won't have to wait long to ride it!
I think Cedar Fair is really shooting themselves in the foot by divorcing Intamin. I get their reasons, but I'd argue that Cedar Point built their reputation on the strength of Intamin's innovations. They should bury the hatchet and work with them again.
Thing is, only Millennium really functioned as intended. We know what happened with Dragster, Maverick has had its issues, and they just got rid of Wicked Twister. I can see why they're gun shy after Dragster. Similar to Six Flags and Gerstlauer after the New Texas Giant accident. Frankly, I would like to see Cedar Fair actually get a wooden coaster. Certainly GCI or Gravity Group could do SOMETHING for Cedar Fair.
@jimmaloney1121 Cedar Fair puts in woodies. King's Island has the best GCI, in my opinion. Like I said, I get their reasons for not wanting to work with Intamin, but both have grown and neither Cedar Fair nor Intamin would be where they are today without one another. They need to collaborate again.
From my understanding there was a lot of behind the scenes drama between Intamin and Cedar Fair ontop of what was happening for the public to see. Given how expensive these investments are I don't blame Cedar Fair for not wanting to work with Intamin, businesses in general prefer to work with known reliable partners. I don't know enough about the leadership of these two companies to say if the time for a new cedar fair intamin project is likely. As a side note Tumbili at Kings Dominion might be an indicator that Cedar Fair got a new partnership going on with S&S and that is a manufracture I would argue is about as innovative as Intamin.

He has given up on his vision & is back to Jim Reid Anderson model..cheap passes, cloned rides, bring a friend days, etc....That model was failing to produce organic growth by 2017/2018
I am very excited about what Six Flags is doing for next year. It has led me to make plans to go back to several of their parks next year that are far from home. I actually ended up deciding against keeping my legacy gold membership, which didn't have dining on it, and I just bought their new diamond pass, then added dining & the all-parks flash pass.
@@AirtimeThrills It's $292.50, no tax added, and it only shows up when going through the purchase process. After putting in personal information, it shows the dining options, the home-park-only flash pass, then the national platinum flash pass is on the left. It is not an option through Frontier City. I did it through SFOT, since I was planning to go down there anyway next month.
I think it's nice that parks are adding more things again, and hopefully not investing more than they can afford while still putting an effort into improving.
Love those giant Frisbee rides and those huge ones like Wonder Woman are the best. Will definitely ride those the next time I am at those parks. Building a Boomarang at a large park like 6FGA without a turn table or switch track is going to be a big mistake from a capacity standpoint. It is going to end up like Surf Coaster at SWO which was running only one train when I was there this summer and it caused it to have an hour plus wait all day long.
There are 2 things I want to talk about on these announcements. 1. That Ultra Surf model is a new Intamin model, so it may be problematic. 2. If six flags makes a ride themed to blue beetle, im gonna faint.
So exited, to see my Texas! Six flags I’m very exited for summer/spring 2024! I went to six flags when I was younger, and haven’t been there in a while, I went back and it was a blast! Looking forward to see what six flags has to offer, for 2024.
With SFOT being my home park, I'm definitely whelmed. However, it's worth considering we've had multiple additions recently with Aquaman, the pirates ride, and casa magnetica sometimes being open. Hopefully this gives us room for an interesting addition next year
The pirates ride has been there for 20 years, it just got a revamp after a flood. Casa magnetica has been there for decades too. The log flume had 1 side shut down for awhile so, it’s another revamp of an existing attraction. Aqua man is a new ride, but I don’t feel excited about it. 6FoT feels like the ugly sister being tossed scraps, especially when Fiesta seems to get something exciting every year. So hip hip hooray, old attractions get reopened after sweeping leaves out. 🫤
Honestly amazed it’s taken 6 flags this long to get a new gen vekoma, there less expensive then other high intensity steel coasters and are extremely reliable which I feel like is what 6 flags needs
Hope Great America will get it's chance to be more than just an amusement park. Crossing my fingers that maybe, JUST MAYBE Great America will become a theme park like Knott's Berry Farm if they focus more on theming and family friendly experiences
I’ll be at Great Escape tomorrow. I was there for the first time in 2019, and Alpine Bobsled was closed so I never got that credit. I’m really hoping that it’s open tomorrow but I’m not counting on it unfortunately.
If the weather is good they will get it open. Although be aware there are some days where it didn’t open till 2. They are doing what they can to give it a proper send off
I just renewed my pass tonight. This year I have platinum thrill seeker but next year I'm going with the diamond pass. It's cheaper than I paid last year plus I'm getting the drink bottle and preferred parking added on.
I've been expecting a new coaster for a while now. I know covid and Selim have changed course but they were getting a new coaster every 3 years or so and now it's been 6 going on 7
I’m somewhat upset about SFA. I’m happy to get quite literally anything, but the bar has been so low and they just barely scraped above it with the nebula. Also great video! love your content style
Yeah this isnt a great addition but its definitely a positive one. Making their SLC rideable and getting a solid new flat and a facelift to a whole section of the park
Predator at SFDL will be getting Titan Track every year for the next few years until it's all Titan Tracked according to Chris Thorpe park president, I also believe Big Kahuna is being repaired during the off season instead of removing it.
As someone with Six Flags STL as a home park, the problem isn’t that our addition is a BAD ride (although it is a lot like all the other additions we’ve been getting), it’s that six flags hyped us up saying they had a “BIG” announcement to make this week. So we were expecting something more than another spinning flat ride.
SFOG stated that their Kid Flash coaster ride would still be opening this year during their coaster fest and is likely to be done by September. They claimed that they have gone “vertical” by showing the images of the construction at the event. Their election of choosing a name for their ultra surf coaster would also be held in September in the meantime
Yeah, I could see Kid Flash opening around Thanksgiving and the Ultra Surf opening around April/May. I’m also super excited that we’re getting to vote for the name!
The ultra surf coaster at SFOG is not necessarily a bad announcement, but I get annoyed when big parks don’t announce a coaster that could be top-10 worthy. 😔
I wanted great adventure to get the cancelled b&m giga. And six flags is finally working with Gravity Group. And, should have just torn down mind eraser at six flags America. And, I want RMC Roar since its now the oldest GCI after wildcat closed.
I think great adventures addition is a little disappointing, and I'm really hoping there's a turntable for 2 trains. A boomerang is a horrible idea for a park as large as great adventure.
That New England gets nothing when they are due for a coaster is disappointing. Maybe a separate video on why sfne isn’t getting any investment? Park had a rough 2023 season
It's a little disappointing, but New England hasn't been nearly as neglected as Great Escape, St. Louis or Six Flags America in recent years, so I think I can live with it. I went there last month and actually had a lot of fun.
My prediction for Great America is that they get a big new coaster for their 50th in 2026. That massive plot of land in the middle of the park where Buccaneer Battle and the go-karts are has some BIG potential for a sizable coaster smack-dab in the middle of the park. OR...RMC Eagle 🤣
If you havent seen the viral video from 2 years ago, its this crazy video where a bobcat attacks this guys wife and he grabs it and chucks it, takes out his gun and starts chasing it
I don't know if they are getting rid of Scream. SFMM Twitter mentioned Goliath again in passing and the newest construction markers are on the opposite side of the park by the Golden Bear Theater. But SFMM is definitely getting something for 2025 because of Hollywood Drift at Universal. BTW- I love Scream. It's a great ride that I'd hate to see go and a Giga could wrap the back side of the park while interacting with a bunch of other coasters or be a terrain coaster starting on top of the mountain.
i'm really looking forward to trying out the gig discovery as much as I love coaster and all i'm all for this I hope in 2025 or 2026 we see more flat ride for the county fair are of the park and reall give county fair area a facelift that kidsopolis is so out of place

So exited, to see my Texas! Six flags I’m very exited for summer/spring 2024! I went to six flags when I was younger, and haven’t been there in a while, I went back and it was a blast! Looking forward to see what six flags has to offer, for 2024.
as someone from upstate new york, i am so happy great escape is finally getting a new coaster
With SFOT being my home park, I'm definitely whelmed. However, it's worth considering we've had multiple additions recently with Aquaman, the pirates ride, and casa magnetica sometimes being open. Hopefully this gives us room for an interesting addition next year
I feel and actual full layout coaster in a year or two.
I've never ridden a giga discovery..now since I'm right between SF St Louis and Great America, I'll finally get a chance to do so
Theyre so good, crazanity is legitimately my 3rd fav ride at SFMM
I haven't been to SFGA in some time (opting for trips to Knoebels and the Jersey Shore), but if ever there was a year to return, 2024 is the year.
They are doing what they can to give it a proper send off
Your best bet to ride it is this weekend. They should have it open for its final sendoff
7:01 IT'S A BOBCAT!! 😂
BOBCAT ATTACKED MY WOOOOIFE
I just renewed my pass tonight. This year I have platinum thrill seeker but next year I'm going with the diamond pass. It's cheaper than I paid last year plus I'm getting the drink bottle and preferred parking added on.
New England needs a new coaster instead of consistently being left out for 6+ years. The fact they left out that park again is a kick in the pants.
I've been expecting a new coaster for a while now. I know covid and Selim have changed course but they were getting a new coaster every 3 years or so and now it's been 6 going on 7
Great news 4 Great Ad & Great Escape. Hope SFoTX adds back animations on flume or tunnel.
Curious to see what's in store for Discovery Kingdom...
'Every SLC that has gotten vests has been a huge improvement'
*Condor has entered the chat*
Garbage to trash is still an improvement
I’m somewhat upset about SFA. I’m happy to get quite literally anything, but the bar has been so low and they just barely scraped above it with the nebula.
Also great video! love your content style
Yeah this isnt a great addition but its definitely a positive one. Making their SLC rideable and getting a solid new flat and a facelift to a whole section of the park
I mean getting an actually rideable SLC is kind of a big deal. But I do hope we can get something beyond that in the near future
Even though not all parks getting anything new, 2024 is shaping up to be a good year for Six Flags as a whole ❤️.
Still curious of when will SFOG host their naming contest for the ultra surf since the deadline was last month
Predator at SFDL will be getting Titan Track every year for the next few years until it's all Titan Tracked according to Chris Thorpe park president, I also believe Big Kahuna is being repaired during the off season instead of removing it.
Great escape for the win, perfect addition maybe they get a steel coaster next
A Raptor would be amazing at Six Flags Great America, I really hope they can pull it off one day.
I can’t wait until frontier city gets something significant, that park is right on the edge of small park greatness.
The Intamin Ultra Surf now has an official name called the Georgia Surfer
Credit to Six Flags, these seem like really smart additions without going full 00s Six Flags!
Really awesome to see Six Flags working with the Gravity Group! Hopefully it leads to retrack work as well…
Thought great escape would never get a new coaster. Yeah, it’s not a thrill coaster, but I’m just so happy my park finally got a new one.
I love how, in the US, 2 hours is not a long drive. But for europeans, a park being 2 hours away from another one is too far away
Six Flags is finally making some good decisions!
I hope they’re able to give SFA’s SLC the same trains as Riddler’s Revenge at New England
It seems like they will
Their GM posted on social media that they are getting the vest restraints (same as New England and Moreys piers).
Im excited for what happens for SFGAm for their 50th. I bet they do something with the Eagle
the SFA ride names are the real names
The Vekoma super boomerang is the most exciting
Another year of nothing for La Ronde despite being contractually obligated to do so, I have a feeling they're going to sell their lease.
OMG I remember when jomboy did a breakdown on “ITS A BOBCAT!” 😂
Such a classic
Good to hear America isn’t getting completely shafted like I expected. Hoping that brings more changes to the park later
Six flags giving their parks stuff? Wild.
Buy or sell: GG takes a stab at fixing The Boss at SFSTL?
Guys I heard gilroy gardens is getting a wooden single rail hydraulic launch dueling coaster with 27 inversions and a drop of 450 feet 😮
Holy crap so true
Whaaaa? My home park is getting something?
I heard it too so it must be true
SFOG stated that their Kid Flash coaster ride would still be opening this year during their coaster fest and is likely to be done by September. They claimed that they have gone “vertical” by showing the images of the construction at the event. Their election of choosing a name for their ultra surf coaster would also be held in September in the meantime
Yeah, I could see Kid Flash opening around Thanksgiving and the Ultra Surf opening around April/May. I’m also super excited that we’re getting to vote for the name!
@@ChasingThrills I could say that the name “Storm Surge” would be best fit for the new ride
Love intamin but I hate the free spin model. I don’t want my water ride to spin like that :(
Six flags ga is my home park!
Is it Great Adventure or Great America as being your home park?
Great adventure
Only thing I'm upset about is them getting rid of the drive thru safari again at Gr Adv.
Hopefully, the new trains for Mind Eraser for Six Flags America is part of a deal with Vekoma for a new coaster.
I could see six flags working with vekoma more if the boomerang's successful
RMC The Boss 2025 confirmed by the new general manager of Six Flags St.Louis
The ultra surf coaster at SFOG is not necessarily a bad announcement, but I get annoyed when big parks don’t announce a coaster that could be top-10 worthy. 😔
I wanted great adventure to get the cancelled b&m giga. And six flags is finally working with Gravity Group. And, should have just torn down mind eraser at six flags America. And, I want RMC Roar since its now the oldest GCI after wildcat closed.
I take it this was recorded before the merger?
Zamperla low key killing it rn
7:01 LOL
At least the ultra splash doesnt use fake single rail track like their hot racer.
What was that security camera footage of the bobcat attack?
Look it up from 2 years ago. It was a viral video where a bobcat attacks the guys wife and he goes nuts on it
@@AirtimeThrills just watched it, and boy was that both messed up and scary
There combining both logflums to make one long logflum
I’m honestly a sucker for a good safari
Boo! That great adventure gets another new coaster right away
Are you sure you want to completely demolish Compact Inverted Coaster 1?
Yes please
The video that I wanted... and needed
Every major park should have a GIGA Discovery. Best flat ride period and a huge people mover. Better then most coasters.
I think great adventures addition is a little disappointing, and I'm really hoping there's a turntable for 2 trains. A boomerang is a horrible idea for a park as large as great adventure.
impressed by six flags tbh
My wife is trying to justify the wildlife camping experience by comparing it to flying to Africa for a real safari… points for creativity for sure lol
flash seems like a West Coast Racers equivalent for Great Adventure, but w worse capacity
That New England gets nothing when they are due for a coaster is disappointing. Maybe a separate video on why sfne isn’t getting any investment? Park had a rough 2023 season
I have season passes to NE. Everyone knows there's a great spot from the old Goliath plot to Flashback. I feel a little screwed to be honest
Yeah given the dinosaur attraction this year they may be taking a year off before replacing Goliath
That plot is far from massive & go karts are going nowhere, way too popular & they get an up charge attraction.
@@grobble8954 It's big enough for a Dive or a Raptor, for sure. And they've moved the Go-Karts before; they can do it again. We shall see!
I believe SFOG might get a new coaster for 2026 in order to celebrate the World Cup being held in Atlanta for that year
@@Cat3465 THE WORLD CUP IS COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.
What the heck was The Bobcat for?
If you havent seen the viral video from 2 years ago, its this crazy video where a bobcat attacks this guys wife and he grabs it and chucks it, takes out his gun and starts chasing it
As much as glamping is an annoying word...honestly that looks cool as hell
Zamperlas revenge
IMO, SFMM is probably getting something new next year (GIGA maybe not coaster 😔), maybe replacing Scream!, because it’s unpopular.
I think scream isnt popular because of its location in the park. Its so hidden
@@AirtimeThrills still, Thoosies seem to hate it, even though it isn’t even that rattley
@@psychopompinc.646 I love it too! Super underrated
The revamped mind eraser is actually terrible, I was slamming my head on the seat every second
They still need to fix the line cutting problem hello
I thought the joker was at six flags over Texas
i'm really looking forward to trying out the gig discovery as much as I love coaster and all i'm all for this I hope in 2025 or 2026 we see more flat ride for the county fair are of the park and reall give county fair area a facelift that kidsopolis is so out of place
Hope new frontier city addition soon:(
Thatll be the day
You should change it to worst to first instead of worse to best. Cliche but smoother
Yeah i go either way. Rhyming is key
