3 "mega loopers" from Arrow Dynamics would ever open to the public, all with the same elements and similar layouts: Shockwave, Great American Scream Machine and Viper. All the three rides briefly held the title for the fastest and tallest looping coasters in the world, and Viper also appeared in several media productions such as Glee, Beverly Hills 90210, movies like Encino Man (1992), commerciale and even video games (it appears on RollerCoaster Tycoon 2)
Despite the success of the attraction and a lenghty refurbishment that spanned August - December 2018, it seems that the only thing that Viper has left in common with his defunct sister coasters (that closed in 2002 and 2010) is ROUGHNESS!

@@CaliforniaCoastin i got on the big apple coaster before comfort collars and with them and the comfort collars make the ride a lot more enjoyable and less painful
Other than the slight fear of a broken neck, I truly love this ride
Anaconda from Kings Dominion and any Vekoma SLC (preferably Kong at SFDK) should be next
The way arrow coasters transition into their corkscrews will never fail surprise me

The biggest mistake of my life was going on this as my first big ride with loops.
Same! I went on Viper the first year it was built back in the 90’s with my dad. It left a kink in my neck for days. Exhilarating, but painful. Keep your head back when entering those loops!
@@theredbaron057 if only I knew that. I had a headache afterwards and it sucked 😭😭😭 at least it gave me the confidence to go on big drop and looping rides afterwards

Ngl only the batwing and corkscrew entrances are a bit questionable, everything else is fine. It was literally meant to be a fixed version of Shockwave and Great American Scream Machine
The pipe drops aren't as loud or as numerous as on the Shockwave video, so even the video maker seems to think it's not nearly as bad.
Viper holds the title for me as "The first ride to make me legit black out from g force" award. It also made my sister's ears bleed cause her earrings were getting SLAMMED into those restraints.
i think anyone knows not to wear jewelry on a roller coaster, thats just asking for it
Rode this in 2019. Last arrow mega looper I rode was Great American Scream Machine at Great Adventure. This ride is waaaay smoother.
The ride is cool, but those loops will have you catching CTE
this ride looks very different then viper at darien lake which was also built by arrow dynamics.
I probably got a concussion from this ride

This video is a joke/meme ahahhaha, but those kind of coasters are pretty old school (for instance, Viper was not made with the aid of computers even if it's from 1990) and so headbanging happens on them (never ridden one of those, so don't ask me my experience)
