    Recently discovered my knock-off Strat is made out of plywood and oh boy did they fuck up the routing..
    They appearantly tried to do the classic three single coil routs but visibly messed up and turned it into a swimming pool one. The tear-outs are visible and the neck pocket looks like it's been hewn out with a rock.

    From what I can gather (this build is an exception due to the bridge pickup used) plywood reduces the “spanky” quality of a traditional tele sound. I’m not a huge fan of spank, but I do love a twangy tele with a low output pickup and I think plywood might be a great alternative if your looking for less pick attack from a tele.

    • @mcclane12000
      @mcclane12000  2 года назад

      Totally understand about truss rod depth, I had a V-Groove router bit that left a perfect channel for it. As for the depth, I just took shallow passes until it was just right. Thank you for watching!😊
