- Formula E Gen 3 cars have been added as paid DLC for rFactor 2! I haven't played rF2 for a while so this seemed like a great time to revisit it...until it wasn't.

They handle like an FE car? who would have thought.
This gotta be the biggest skill issue
Seems like it's more a skill issue than a car issue / game issue
Yeah formula e cars don’t have much downforce which is one of the reasons they have a lot of crashes
It’s rf2, it’s definitely a game issue
But also yeah he kinda was skill issuing it, but I can cut some slack for rfactor 2
no its not formula e cars are very difficult to drive they are really light and don't have much downforce@@SeanCampbell_iRacing
So your major complaints are "it's too simmy", when it's in rFactor, and that the cars understeer, when they're Formula E cars. Call me a cynic, but it feels like you missed the point if I'm honest.
Videos like this are why not having the dislike button is a disservice to humanity.
Welcome to the internet where negativity gets more clicks.
Its not too simmy its just a broken game
@@GM-nl2go Which part of it is broken?
@@lantagtbf almost everything in rf2 is broken
The game isn't the issue. The issue is the big bald part between the steering wheel and the seat
LMAO
You made me chuckle xD
XD
Haha nice one
title should be: ''When you switch from F1 arcade game to a simulator and have no clue what you are doing.''
to be fair, he just highlight some of the ridiculous issues still in RF2 after more than a decade, full course yellow is absolutely broken. And some content does feel trash. I've been running the BTCC cars on the new tracks and its amazing, but when I try some other options the game is often completely broken
FE cars do slide a lot, i think its not too bad.
Just remember when you watch Fe on TV they are all loosing traction on corner exit, and they are just hard to drive due to less down force and the tires they use.
Yeah but it's not faster to drift around the corners
Also the electric motor means instant torque so it’s very easy to spin up the wheels
FE is not F1, they are completely different. If you try to drive FE like it's F1, you will have a miserable time. There is more power and torque in FE than F1.
@@soju69jinro not more power. Just way less grip, which makes the traction poor.
@@Nat-2579 They are also very heavy (heavier than the already massive modern F1s) so the inertia is a bitch. Once they can improve the weight with better battery technology the sport will be really interetisng, but for now I'll pass, it needs way too many gimmicks to be fun.
- Rimmed tyres
- Instant torque in a very light low aero car
- short wheelbase
- complains about the oversteer, understeer and unrealistic handling
The most realistic car in the sim probably and you can't drive it. Not surprised 👍🏻
Most dumb and pointless take for a game. Not surprised 👍
This looks like shit
The car is fine, you're just not driving it de way it's meant to be driven. It's an electric car with pretty much no downforce and road tyres, you can't expect it to drive like an F1 car!
Ps. This sim has one of the best ffb's out there, I'd advise you to watch a tutorial on how to set this sim up.
I feel like that’s part of what he was complaining about that there is no intro or guide in game to getting the game set up well, plus the game isn’t plug and play. That’s probably the biggest thing that hampers a lot of sims not user friendly when starting and outdated/weird UI and sometimes AI being bad
@@HallucinatingHedgehogs I don't believe any sim has a in game tutorial of how to set it up. Most of the upper level sims require you to figure out how you like your setup and their is numerous youtube videos out their that he could have watched.
I don’t agree that the user x is as bad as he claims but it’s not too much to ask for some sort of official guide for buyers. With that said, the RUclips tuts are probably better anyway so I see both sides of the argument
Actually its a skill issue
It's literally not bad at all 🤣
I'm not the biggest rF2 fan and it has A LOT of issues but physics and FFB are not one of them. I feel even the most anti-rF2 people admit it's one of the best sims when it comes to those. Can't speak to the Formula E stuff though, haven't tried it and don't think I'd drop the money for it lol.
Agree, ffb and physics are definitely among the best. Top 3 for me at the very least
I wouldnt know i downloaded the game and have no idea how to even start a race maybe they should fix the entierty of the ui before they add more cars
@@tyranus1111 That's honestly fair lol. If you think the UI is bad now you should have seen it before they overhauled it semi-recently. Still not great but it was a nightmare before.
@@BtotheDon12I don’t see how the ui is bad now? Feels pretty equal to most of the other sims I use like AC & AMS 2, the only 2 sims which feel quite a bit simpler are iracing and ACC
@@tyranus1111my issue also. I play ACC, AC & AMS2 but I can't get my head around the UI in Rfactor2. The one time I managed to get into a race the HUD blocked out the cars own display, and it felt like I'd gone back in time to the 80's or something. I'm glad ppl like it, each to their own, but deffo a waste of money for me. Maybe it does have good physics and FFB, but I've never got that far....
Your major complaint is that the car is slow. Do you even read the regulations? Also paying for a car, you don't even know what is IRacing? Everything in this video really felt like you're being paid to hate on this game or something. I'm not even an Rf2 fan.
You clearly never played rf2
@@GM-nl2go what if I have?
Doesn't look that bad to be honest
It's rFactor2, its great
@@olliecole7163 it's not

@@brandonvoortwijs1382nah i disagree. The game has a bunch of problems, the ui as well.
Alex I’m sorry but you’re complaining about a car of a motorsport you don’t even know
I would blame the driver not the game....
i like that he doesn’t like the game because it’s realistic, he’s comparing it with f122 basically and doesn’t have the correct force feedback settings if you don’t like a simulator go and play f122. Rfactor 2 its the game which the virtual le mans is played on btw
A sim with AI brake checking? Also Rfactor 2 is the same engine used for NASCAR Ignition...
You mean the gigantic failure virtual le mans? lol
@@deathtrooper2048 I don't know about you but the only time AI brake check is when they are set to a low skill level or its a modded in track.

11 minutes and 50 seconds of an Arcade racing game RUclipsr complaining due to his lack of skill
The second hand embarrassment I got from this is nothing I would expect from a sim racing RUclipsr.
He's rather a simcade driver at best.
I actually love these formula E cars they are raw and challenging. This is actually how the cars handle you have to brake kind of early and work towards the corner and ones you are at the corner you have to steer really aggresively. If you look at the onboards you also see they drive it like this. But I do race in VR that makes a big difference, I see the corners way better then on a monitor. Rf2 in general has one of the best physics and FFB in my opinion but the game content itself is kind of a mess.
Doesn't know about the lift and coast on these Formula E cars and probably doesn't watch the qualifiers
Looks like somebody is Mrs. Gillon, as she rates this game by how it looks like. Stay by your arcades and leave the core alone. Good you uninstal, 1 less noob in the field.
RF2 is not a game, its a sim, also how is it being a sim bad. Also probably would help if you drove it like a sim as in lift and coast, not braking fully into every corner as the FE brakes are not that good, also not turning while braking. It does have its flaws, yes, it is quite finicky and the UI is terrible but the driving experience is one of the best. Race teams even use the RF2 physics engine for their own sims, and just add their cars in, like you said FE drivers use it to practice so it has to be good
well as a "sim" i would want the "sim" to allow me to race ai without them brake checking in me every 30 seconds.
@@brettjames5061 AI difficulty level is why they are "brake checking" or its because you have a modded track or car that the AI is not programed to drive.
Untrue. They use RfPro engine, and COMPLETELY change it. They change physics modeling, obviously car models, track scans and the whole tyre model. rF2 physics have nothing to do to what teams use.
@@brettjames5061Sim and AI skill is 2 different things. Just race online it doesn't change the fact that it's a good sim.
That is just a skill issue bro. That is how the cars work and handle
I think, how do i word this… you need how to drive a sim😂

Dont switch from a game like f1 to something like rfactor which is fiddlely as all buggery to get dialed in correctly and expect it to be a fun experience, took me like a week of tinkering to get my rfactor 2 feeling not weird.
Also dont mislead people for clicks dude. 🤦♂️
This what happens when you play low quality f1 games after years and years. You hate something witch is actually hard for you f1 smoothbrain
You gotta understand also that FE cars are horrendous, Studio397 seem to have made them pretty well, they don't break or turn and there nof fun to drive too. Perfect Formula E experience
Jarno Opmeer competed in 2021 in Formula E for Merc. Perhaps he can give you pointers on handling and steering.
Bro wants everyone to know he paid for the game
You said formula e game. Never watching again
fair enough if you want to say the singleplayer experience and AI racing is poor, but going on a rant about rF2 having a trash handling model and force feedback wasnt your finest moment, especially considering it’s the go-to sim for a lot of racing drivers 😅
And he goes from f1 sim cade
clickbait at its finest
You should stick to the F1 games. Sims aren't for you
Reminds me of the first time you tried the FSR mod 8 years ago. 🤣
Hilarious.
You'll get there one day.
Your going to annoy all the rFactor fan boys with this one. Problem with rFactor is it takes a lot of fiddling to get a fun experience out of it, but it can be a fun experience, which is why many like it.
As for the FE content. The AI for the new FE cars is meant to be a bit jank, especially on the official tracks which is a shame. I think if you go on a more normal track its meant to be better. They seemed to rush it out so they could get their FE esports championship started with the new cars.
My brother in Christ, its a simulator.
Rfactor isn't built around the casual playing majority.
Its a niche game.
@@MooseMoi250and always will be niche. Pick your poison
@@MooseMoi250 there's other sims out there that are more intuitive and easier to get a race working. Just because it's a sim doesn't mean it has to be clunky to setup or provide a broken racing experience
@@lewis8552 If you have trouble setting up a singleplayer race in rf2 your problem is not the game it's your level of competence
More of a drama queen than a racer, no time to give it a chance
Rfactor nerds will hate this but the game is completely dogshit now that MSG is in charge. Getting the game to work properly is a challenge lol. The bar has gotten so low for some of these guys that they'll still defend this despite just watching a 12 minute video of their favorite game not working properly
Yeah the Gen 3 car has some issue with the FFB and feel thanks to the front engine regen physics it seems.
Gen 1 & 2 were one of the best suiting cars for rFactor 2 tyre model in my opinion and showed the potential of the sim at it's best, especially with the Accelerate esports championship.
If you had no feel with any of the other cars though, there must have been something wrong with your settings.
50% damper and 11 interpolation is quite high (Fanatec suggests half those values for rF2)
and next time also do check that you didn't have any of the steering aids turned on in-game
What are you complaining about? It doesn’t look bad at all.
Bro you play f1 hahhaa how can you say its bad rfactor 2 has One of the best tyre model ever
And rfactor 2 its not even my main sim
rFactor has horrendous AI and unstable multiplayer. What's the point of a good tyre model if there is no point of using it.
@@rando842 LFM bruh LOL HAHAHAHAHAH never had a problem
@@rando842 why are you saying it's unstable. I've been league racing there for years, and never had a problem
idc what people say, RF2 is an amazing sim
Still better than f1 23
bro has played the new game already it seems like
Yeah no. I play both games and i quite like F1 23.
Coming from someone who plays this regularly, Rfactor2 is great for hotlapping
… that’s about it
Endurance races (online in a league) are very fun for me
MP is amazing on LFM. Had really fun BTCC races there
Funnily enough this shows pretty well how far CM/EA F1 mains are from actual simracers.
Wait new game? rFactor2 was released in 2013
Bro just use the DAMN base game cars! RF2 comes with great cars and the ffb is among the best. Your settings must be wrong or the wheel you use isn’t very compatible. It’s weird, the ffb should be the best there is.
Misleading title. This is not a new FE game. This sort of falsehood should be banned. It's a rough business to read and I hope so called you-tube will ban you for life.
most annoying creator
i think its more like a setup issues rather than car issue, the stock setup in rfactor 2 is awful and it takes a lot of time and experience to set up the car properly in rf2
I get that a lot of his complaints come from the fact that he's not a sim racer, but that racing does look horrendous. I've been watching Formula E for 2 years now and that's not how full course yellows work.
Your first mistake was playing a motorsports games property
Well, If you want to be a serioussimracer, do something about your position in your seat before complaining about the game.
Er- I think a couple of those spins you said the ai did to you, yeah I think your rear tire clipped the inside wall…
Man has very heavy feet
The formula E experience in rfactor is unbelievable. I'll bet you can't finish the race without running out of energy. Rfactor is a lot harder than F1 LOL
Formula E cars are terrible and horrible.
The developers nailed it
Rome is not updated.. I don't know what you paid for but this is the 2019 layout, maybe 2020 too, can't remember. But there's definitely the newer layout as well.
This looks a million times better than any F1 game in the last 8 years…..
Ticktum doing Ticktum things I see
Formula e cars can not be driven like normal open wheel cars… they have no gear… no gearing differential and a ton of torque… under steer on entry and oversteer on exit are how those cars handle IRL. Although iRacing is much better
“Formula e game”
Skill issue. Cant believe what you said.
what game do u call thiiiiss
I have to say, your ffb settings were a bit wonky imo. I can't help but feel you went into this with a narrative you wanted to portray. This didn't look like a fair crack at it tbh. rFactor2 has some of the best feeling ffb in the entire industry and what you described was not the typical experience.
Where I do agree with you though is how technical it is, the UI / UX whilst improved in recent years is still miles off where it should be. You shouldn't have anywhere near the amount of issues you did setting up your wheel. You shouldn't need to invest more than 5 minutes setting up your controls.
However, when you do, it really is one of, if not the best feeling sims out there.
Personally graphics are not important for me but when running on high / max settings in can look half decent. One thing that needs a complete overhaul though is the HUD, that is a mess.
these cars have a lot of tourq or however u spell it
Torque?
Basically that describes my experience with RF2. I've spent plenty of money on DLC for RR, ACC, AMS2 and iRacing, but I just can't bring myself to do it for rFactor2. It all seems so much of a faff to get anything working.
Rf2 breaks so much, and its so sad cause theres so much potential with amazing content and even their new online system coming up... i would love to actually play it but whenever i load any gt3 class cars the game instantly freezes. I guess you cant expect much from motorsport games and its studios, and with the new lemans game im pretty worried about rf2's future anyway (remember when rf2 was supposed to get the lemans license stuff? Ya, they still have the liscence. They just dont wanna do it.)
I thought I was alone in the dlc being bad, by traffic overtaking under SC/FCY or getting overtaken by traffic that got an impossibly good exit that would send me in a spin if I tried it, not to mention an unforgiving back end.
Gen 2 is a much better dlc pack, because the other cars are bound to the same physics you are.
Also, weren’t these Gen 3 AWD? I’d be expecting far more stability on exit if that were the case. It’s a lot more stable than RWD. I don’t know if there’s a tuning option I’m missing or something, but it doesn’t feel like an AWD car at all.
Its just a lack of talent
full course yellows activating on first lap, not working etc. Ai not being able to navigate the track etc? nothing to do with talent
Why are youtubers so loud and annoying
Based on what I see in your gameplay you were just overly aggressive on the throttle I will admit i am a bit too gentle on the throttle in this car mostly because it’s so easy to lock up and you were also too aggressive on steering which I don’t know how you managed to do considering you’re definitely not supposed to be gentle with it at all
So the problem isn’t the car it’s you (sorry)
ever heard of trail braking
rFactor simps in comments lmao.
you advertised like it’s a completely new Formula E game but it’s just some dlc for rfactor 2..
If you don’t like the handling just use project cars 3 they have a fantastic formula E car lots of tracks and great simulator feels
R factor 2 is a terrible game what made you think it would be great to download it
Have you seen the state of nascar 21 ignition?
Still my Favorite Game Ever
studio 397 didn't have much of a hand in development for nascar 21
This is painful to watch. It's a simulator ffs.
this is r factor2
Maybe try crashing less 😆
I call this a skill issue and not a game issue. As a guy who played rfactor 2 and enjoyed it, I call bs on your claims that it sucks. Sure, some cars made by the community or Studio 397 suck, but other than that it's quite good.
i mean rf2 isn't just a formula e game, it has a lot more to it which you didn't explore in the video
Its funny seeing these f1 code masters guys try to play sims. And complaining
In other words, you dont know anything about formula e
Sim racers when the sim is fully realistic, and therefore not fun to drive
I don't care if the Formula-E game looks awful!
A bunch of RF2 Neckbeards malding in these comments
Yeah they definitely didn't watch till the end to see him driving non FE cars
i like how dan ticktum in game, drives no different irl
Dodes someone know how to invert the feedback on Rf2?
It's too bad, because real life Formula E is awesome.
Also, on your comments about no tutorial, even games like F1 22 and F1 23 don't have a tutorial, and they're aimed at the general public.
Not a fan either I'll be honest guys, I know I'm in the minority here it's just rFactor to me was the same it feels....empty just the detail, FFb delivery and the physics aren't idk it doesn't feel modern it just feels like bottom of the barrel sim racing almost borderline sim/cade which sucks because that's where the awful F122 game sits and I had Waaaaaaaaaay more hope when I gave rf a go awhile ago and yes I've tried MULTIPLE times and thought ok fresh mind reset let's give it a go but I just can't..all the years sim racing and I just don't recommend period
Rf2 is probably my favorite sim for steering and handling feel but like… it seems like they just got that down and stopped developing it? The UI is trash, the AI behavior makes no sense, and as a game it’s unplayable. But as a sim, like I’m training to get in a race car or I wanna see what would a lap in this car actually feel like, it’s damn good
