17:30 generally the rules I've always seen sim racing operate under is that if you're not alongside at the *start* of the corner, you're not necessarily entitled to space and that is a divebomb. The defending driver could *choose* to give you the space, but they don't have to. You got alongside at the apex by moving your braking zone entirely inside of the corner, and nobody could reasonably react to that if they were the defending car, especially on that corner on that track where you have to choose your line and commit or possibly bin it completely.
Fair play Alex for looking back at these and owning up to a lot of your own mistakes. It's nice to see the incidents are pretty balanced and no-one is much dirtier than the other.
I can't wait for another coop season on f1 2024. Still funny alex calls ben dirtier than elrey but the lesson we learned today is, that alex actually was more dirty in coop. Anyway no hate from my side, I love the combination and rivalry with all the insults and everybody who follows them for a while know that there is no serious hate between them and they are friends
17:39 crazy you think your entitled to space. If someones already turned into the corner they cant be expected to completely turn out of it because you suddenly appear... I think its this mentality that alongside at any point equals space and all that matters is a cars width... there was moving under braking a few times and such late sends that the cars width is irrelevant
Actually they ARE expected to let off on throttle and go less aggressive on steering. If a car is alongside no matter the situation they are and will always be entitled to space, and he was making the corner as well. What could Ben have done? Letting off the steering a little bit completely turning out is also stupid, but leaning of the steering would both prevent the accident and have allowed him a good chance to keep the lead into the next corner as he then had the inside.
@@mrjwarren101 it is quite literally how it works,. If one does not have the reaction time to react to being overtaken, they shouldn't be playing the game. Literally Ben had all the tools necessary to see Alex going into the inside way before going into the apex.
@Cesp43 If you are not alongside when turning into the corner you are not required to turn out of said corner. Sure ben could have turned out of it (but he doesnt have to). This would be a slam dunk penalty for alex in any race
@@mrjwarren101 actually that's not how the rule works, if a car is a long side, before the apex, they are entitled to space, Alex was alongside way before the apex he is entitled to space. This is literally coming from the FIA rule book on overtaking, simplified of course but you get that point.
25:20: Engineer calls out Caution, Yellow flag visible on the right side of the track, passes a clearly faulty Hamilton off track on the right, Yellow flag visible on the top left of the hud. Ignores all this and sends it up the inside during double waved yellow flags. Even during the analysis you seem to fail to realize this. You got to play by the rules, it can be a slippery slope.
You call out Alex for sending it up the inside under Yellows and not noticing yellows. Yet, at your 25:20 timestamp where Alex is still ahead, you can already see the yellow flags. Ben ignores this and just overtakes Alex. Ben should never have been ahead there in the first place.
@@RobertDoornbosF1 the thing is ben overtook alex before entering the yellow flag marked by the lights on the right or on the leaderboard so ben did nothing wrong there and it is 100% on alex for sending it under yellows
@@Merlin77Cz IRL, drivers have been penalised for not slowing down and/or overtaking when a yellow flag is shown ahead. The game is shit, and allows you to overtake under yellows. For me, that doesn't take away the fault though. Pudely under the circumstances in the game, yes Alex was wrong.
It's great to look back on the incidents happens. I think you only deserve room when it was side by side and not one wheel next to their back wheel. When the car going for the overtake for a gap that's gonna close, the car behind is responsible for overtake safely
17:45 this incident, Overtaking car must pass safely, I think Ben is already turning and committed. The contact is from a very tight angle by Alex where he's sent it and then it has lead to contact. I just think the move was desperate and if it were IRL it would be a 10s penalty.
This video is great. The audience always forget that these 2 are best friends irl. So they are going to get a lot more mad and pissed with each other than if they were just strangers.
10:35 Alex and Ben were side by side, the collision could have been even bigger of Ben didn't back out. Definitely not Ben's fault. The retaliation vote in Monaco was moot, at that point there was so much damage neither of you were serious.
I think the problem with your incidents is that you basically demand space on your sends based on "being alongside". If you send it from another postcode, and you only get alongside (or to the rear wheel) at the apex you can't demand space
I think you should have made the voting different and made it a penalty point system where you can get 1-3 penalty points for an incident you caused. Because incidents caused by you are often enough not that bad, while Ben sometimes just drives super super dirty and its not really reflected in the stats :D That being said I think you guys do deserve one another lol. I came on here to bash @alex gillon gameplay but as I watched further and further into the video. I see that he actually does own up to some of his own mistakes after the fact and admits that sometimes in the moment, he rushes to judgement (as a driver of a dirt modified in the real world I fully understand the passion in the moment). But at 9:30 in the video is when I changed my mind about what I was going to comment here. Seeing Alex own up and change his opinion about some of the incidents and accepting fault in some of them. I am glad to see that once he cools down and rewatches some of these. He can accept blame. He will need to include his massacre of Ben Daily at their F1 2024 creators series race at Monaco when he absolutely shoves Ben off the track and into the spin, ruining his race. And Alex showing no remorse in the moment was piss poor sportsmanship. I hope he rewatches that and cools down and sees that he was fully in the wrong there.
17:30 - you say its ben's but 1stly at Zandvoort a wide line is normally taken, you shallowly attack the apex at an angle he can't see you make or get a radar notice until he is at the apex, its a silly lunge IMO
I think Alex complains about the space Ben leaves way more than Ben actually doesn’t leave space, because watching Alex you could argue he doesn’t leave space just as often or more than Ben
Some of the double standards and general lack of knowledge on the rules quoted here is astounding Like the Netherlands one, yes you are usually entitled to room if you’re alongside at the apex, but not from that far behind in the brake zone when they’ve already committed to the corner Also leaving space on the outside, it doesn’t matter if they have enough room to stay legally on track, you have to leave a car’s width
