    • @hobosnake1
      @hobosnake1 Год назад

Glad you're getting what you want. I really like it too. I always wanted more dragon lore and this xpac has been pretty great for it. Unfortunately a death/scourge xpac was always the one I holded out hope for and it wasn't what I wanted. I would have preferred they took an approach like dragonflight with the death xpac. Maybe the last patch could have been like Argus in legion. Shadowlands being a set of patch zones and most of the expansion taking place on and affecting azeroth.
My new hopes are pinned on a less themed expansion and one that adds maybe housing and continues this more exploration focused dragonflight experience. I think actually there's a lot of cool stuff already satisfying this in dragonflight, but I'd like to go further somehow. They can keep going with the cosmic stuff through the lens of azeroth and kind of course correct this story. I just hope these recent troubles at blizzard go away. It's clear these employees want WoW to kick ass, but the conditions and stacked ranking stuff is causing mental anguish and brain drain.

I constantly make mention of it, but the packs of Void Elves gathered in the corners of Stormwind that tell you to piss off every time you try talking to them makes me believe they’re planning something.
I’m still under the impression there’s a rebellion being planned against Turalyon, who will get desperate enough to run to the Dark Portal and open it to AU Draenor, inviting Yrel and the Lightbound to Azeroth.
Seems like the way they’ve been building up kicking that off since BFA.

There's also one other option: We're not building towards a war between Light and Void, but rather a full on cosmic war. We've got Void moving, Light's coming eventually, Life seems to finally be maybe thinking about doing something, we're reemphasizing the Titans and their works again, Denathrius is still out there and it's safe to assume his Dreadlords are in action, and the only cosmic force that seems real quiet is Fel... and since we only know about its usurper(Remember, Sargeras was a Titan, and NOT originally from Fel), there's clearly something massive that could be hiding there. I also think I remember they said they wanted to tell a story that may take place over several expansions... so why couldn't they be building towards a war for all of existence type scenario?

Nothing more than *harbingers* of their master's will? This would fit with Azshara "no longer dealing with harbingers." Sargeras, N'zoth... both just puppets to their true masters. I'm down for this Void vs. Light expansion. Been excited at the prospect since the Mag'Har and Lightforged quests. Honestly, I would love to see an even larger collection of allied races join the frey too, and what better way to add them in than with a clash of light vs. void. Especially for the more neutral races like the Tuskarr or Murlocs. Add like five or six neutral races, including of course Naga (who am I kidding...) who can go either lightforged naga or void naga. Maybe even add in lightforged and void versions for the various races, and fuse Blood Elf with Void Elf, allowing for the customization to let players choose in customization if they want to be neutral, void or lightforged which would give unique flair to the race and some extra RP for people. It would allow us to also fuse Draenei and Lightforged Draenei and give them a void option so they are on par with the other races. I feel like there's a way this could work and maybe your character would be locked to the physical transformation until the final patch when you unlock the ability to switch amongst the three variations for your race. I know that sounds like a ton of work, but it's really just some overlay textures for void and light that would be imprinted on that various races, give them some cool texture effects for hair/armour/eyes/etc. It honestly wouldn't be that bad. The main issue of course is adding races like Tuskarr, Furbolg, Murloc, Naga, Ogre and Centaur, as they all have weird body types for armour. I still want all six of them though...
I wonder though... Would this turn into the new "conflict" with the way factions are kind of gone? They could essentially make a themed war-mode for that expansion where you pledge allegiance to the light or the void and you actually fight for them throughout the expansion. Maybe the popularity of the faction by the end of the expansion could even play a part in how the story unfolds and who becomes the final boss? After fighting for our sides, we come together to fight as Azerothians once again, in order to defeat a power that has gotten out of control and is affecting the balance of all other forces on Azeroth.
I'm not a lorehead or a game dev, so yeah, the light vs. void allegiance thing would need to be simply a cosmetic and RP feature that doesn't have an impact on your player power obviously. but I think WoW needs more of the flavour without requiring immense grinds and player power "goals" which end up simply becoming mandatory content for every single person.
Really though, been stoked for Lightbound expansion for years now. And how Nyalotha got done dirty, I want to see a proper send off for the void.

What I wish the direction had been: In Legion we disable (even if temporarily) the Burning Crusade, but not only do we incur heavy losses (did not happen) but also Azeroth gets damaged in the process (it does happen) then in BFA we set out to A - replenish numbers (happens) and progress to develop a way to heal the world (happens, but boring) B - Since the world in in disarray the Old Gods come out (happens, but we put them back in immediately) and they trigger the next xpac (doesn't happen). Next x-pac it's all about struggling against old gods/void/whatever to actually heal the world. (does not happen) and the xpac after a new healed and realized Azeroth fights with us against the void and we finally purge the old gods from the planet. (mostly)
Let's be honest, most of us would like to see how Azeroth would look like as a Titan.
But instead we got lazor beams killing old gods like ez-pez and then got Shadowlands which is meh at best.
Dragonflight might be not so bad but I cannot process that Shadowlands is now part of the story.
Also it feels like most of everything since Shadowlands is a big ass-pull, like "do you remember that very important dragon place we never talked about?" "no?" "Yeah, it's very important, it was just hidden so it can be used when we really need it." "Like the time Deathwing almost destroyed the world? Or when the Legion almost destroyed the world twice? Or when an Old God got released from it's prison?" "Yeah! Exactly!"
    Just my opinion of course.

It has also been converted/manipulated to all sides on the cosmic scale (holy, void, order, death, life and disorder) through all off the expansions. Maybe the end game will be to awaken the titan and it will be the perfect balance of all so the absolute middle ground that keeps the balance in check because its the most powerful of all? Another thing that I think might be interesting when it comes to N'Zoth seeing us in the Thaldrazsus time hop is that... The map looks exactly the same. But.. it wasn't Ny'alotha, but this time it was supposed to be Azeroth, wayyy back in the day. Now you could easily make the assumption that it's just a quick asset re-use, but that can be less of a possibility if you consider that fact that Ny'alotha is "merely" N'zoth's Vision of the perfect future (in his eyes ofc), and what better place to use for this kind of vision than a place where N'Zoth found the one reality which he needed to pick from all his realities seen... In order to conquer the world and possibly even more
I may of course be entirely wrong about this and feel absolutely sad after learning that none of this is actually true, but for now, this is genuinely something to think about.

The last time Blizzard tackled cosmic stuff they made SL. What's an indication that this will be better? With how Blizzard has been bleeding people lately I would guess it would go worse.
And what is it? Did Blizzard somehow regress the lore or is he misspeaking? I remember back in Legion that the Void and the Light were just forces of nature that were while it was the Void and Light Lords that messed everything up. That was insanely good lore btw, showing that Light and Void both had the same personality as a hurricane and it was living creatures that made everything worse than it needed to be.

Recent expansions make it clear total victory of one cosmic power would be bad for us. There's also the supposed greater evil that the other powers fear, one that Murozond called the "True End Time", and was the driving force behind Zovaal's madness. An unspeakable horror that the Doomsayers call "The Crooked Serpent". Rather than taking out the cosmic powers, we might actually unite them against this ultimate threat.

There is the possibility to choose balance. In the Dragon Isles expansion thd primslist faction seem filled with corrupted shamans. This doesn't mean ALL shamans has joined the primalists. Standing with the elemental powers doesn't have to been done fanatically to the point of not tolerating the other powers. The void powers could be handled the same way so the voidelves doesn't have to become extremists. Any power, even the light, are destructive if allowed to win a total victory.

I wish Discipline would grow into a thing of its own then and rather than borrowing holy and shadow spells have its own ones from the flash of light and dark and be more of an "arcane priest" closer to an arcane Mage maybe rather than priests.

Ok, I have been thinking about what I would like to see in a Light vs Void expansion (warning, long post).
With the prepatch we see that both Light and Void forces are making camps all around Azeroth, recruiting players to join their cause. Eventually, us too will get involved and join either one of them.
The main feature of the expansion would be new factions; Light and Void. The Alliance and Horde factions would no longer be active (with exceptions such as timewalking, old content, etc.). We would get new capitals for each faction (Scarlet Monastery for Light and Temple of Ahn'Qiraj for Void - see how they're at the exact opposites of the world map?) and the entire Azeroth would be a battlefield. There would be frequent open world battles and war objectives, we would be recruiting Azeroth heroes and hunting down the enemies (same old).
As the expansion would progress, we would learn more about how the other faction is corrupted and manipulating and we are actually the ones that are in the right (when in reality both sides are being lied to). It would all lead to a final war which would be a raid; similar to Battle for Dazaralor except grandeur and taking place all over Azeroth. The end of the raid would be us waking Azeroth up from her sleep by waging wars and her pacifying everyone and banishing all Light and Void forces from Azeroth.
That would lead us to the next expansion which would be about healing, rebuilding, renewing the war-torn world. This next expansion could possibly feature the return of the Titans as they are back to see what happened on Azeroth.

They're not going to use Yrel for the light faction in a expansion like that. WoD was ages ago and poorly liked, BfA was quite awhile ago too now and, well, the mag'har orcs remain one of the lower population allied races. Because you had to actually play quite a lot of BfA to unlock them. So most people have probably never even seen that story let alone know/remember who Yrel is. And those that do probably don't care to see her transformed into a Light N*zi. I mean, the Kotaku article basically writes itself right? Female Character Brought Back into Game only to serve as Facist Punching Bag etc... etc...

what if new old gods were created when we killed Cthun, Yog, Yshaarj and Nzoth? I see the old god corruption as a corrupting force that spreads through the world while maintaining a "brain" which is the old god's main body, but what if, by killing the brain, the corruption doesn't get completely destroyed but rather break down, and the isolated parts of the corruption, cut off from the main brain, begin to develop their own mind ? thus creating a new, lesser god. maybe that is how G'thuun was made by the titans? we don't really know what G'thuun was other than that it was a titan experiment gone wrong and then imprisoned.

I would greatly enjoy it if players were given a choice with which side to join. At least for the duration of the expansion. It would be difficult and different, but it would be interesting. Also, if they do start a full war with many different enemies, Alliance and Horde will likely dissolve permanently and become as one. I doubt Thrall would be concerned with humans sheltering in Orgrimmar if all of Durotar was being set ablaze by flaming heavenly light.

Do they give you an ability or something for joining that side? If so, which is best for your class? Boom, nearly everyone of said class goes to that. After having read that, I doubt whether this would be a good idea.
