I really think that a world revamp would make a lot of sense, particularly if they scale up Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Make them truly large landmasses (made traversable by dragonflight) and then tying in quests from expansions to old zones to keep them alive.

I just want an expansion that deals with the characters we know who need some more love rather than introducing 50 new characters to push the stories of. Mekkatorque got a huge push in BfA after years of neglect and then disappeared into the background again. The council of Three Hammers has just been stewing since Cataclysm with no significant updates and Moira's son has been an infant for years. The Tushui and Huojin Pandaren are so neglected that there's legitimately no way to get reputation with those factions beyond buying a tabard and running old dungeons. Many of the Allied Races got their moment in the sun when they were added and then stagnated. A world revamp would be great for this as different zones could deal with different stories, but I also just want an actual focused story that uses these characters rather than making them only matter when they can just be tossed into the story of a leveling zone and forgotten.

I really want to see more things like Wrath of the Lich King's Argent Tournament, or the base we had in the Firelands. Take those and scale them up. When we rebuild Gilneas or Lordaeron, let us actually participate in it. Have region-based contribution goals to rebuild parts of the city, tasks to be completed in order to do the construction, etc. Let us have ownership of it. Let it be OK if different regions reach their contribution goals at different rates. Having the world change is good, but having it change in a dynamic manner like that is great, and having us participate and feel like we were a part of it is best. It not only lets us see the world change, but lets us see it happen in action. It makes the world feel alive.

You have a faulty definition of the word nature, compared to fantasy fiction. Emerald Dream was always supposed to be a raid. It was a cut raid from vanilla(people back then were able to sneak the unfinished instance) and finally, in Legion, it was brought back as an idea and done, as a raid. I think an "emerald dream" expansion would actually be the Gardens of Life. The Life realm.

    • @laertesindeed
      @laertesindeed Год назад +2

@Shredow2 You're going to have to actually provide evidence of a supposed raid in vanilla that anybody ever walked around in; because the only thing which has evidentiary support right now is the fact there were Emerald Dream portals for the outdoor world boss green dragons; and then a map for Hyjal which we were never allowed to visit in vanilla. Also, separate from that.......your final headcanon would not be consistent with the lore which Metzen wrote. What Metzen wrote was that both the shadowlands (his version, not Danuser's version) and the emerald dream were both the same category with metaphorically opposite polarity.......which put in other words, means they were supposed to be a shadow dimension of Azeroth with ghosts and dark things wandering around........and then the emerald dream being a greenish dreamlike dimension of Azeroth that would represent what Azeroth could have been if no intelligent civilizations or individualistic mortals had been allowed to rise up or take over. Both the Shadowland written by Metzen and the shadowland written by Danuser make it clear they are not "the" realm of death.....they are sort of in the way or in between or a bridge that could lead in that direction. And likewise the emerald dream is not "the" Life realm.....it is sort of in the way or in between or a bridge in the direction of the cosmic team of Life. This was made very clear when Metzen had the illustration made of the cosmic map in his Chronicles book. Regardless of whether different writers want to describe it as unreliable narrator so they can retcon it......the point would still remain; both the objective Metzen intention and the unreliable narrators describing what the Titans believe is the case agree......they show both the Shadowland and the Emerald Dream as small little circles flanking Azeroth itself and not inside or even next to either Death nor Life on the chart.
Thus, "if" future writers at blizz want to introduce a Zereth Vitae for us to visit......it won't be the emerald dream nor will it be in the emerald dream; rather.....you'd have to find some way to portal "out of" the emerald dream to get there. Just like we had to find some way to portal "out of" the shadowland to get to Zereth Mortis.

I understand what you mean when you fear a new exp of us going into an alien realm, given what we got in SL, but I think the Emerald Dream is becoming always more important and it would be a shame to never go there. In my opinion, the best way they can make this work is making it very close to Azeroth in terms of landscapes, people and creatures: we know the Dream is kinda what Azeroth may have been, and it's heavily related to elvish society and to many beloved characters, so I think there's a lot of space there to make it work without making us feel alienated.
In the end, we've been to places before that sould've made us feel alienated, like Argus or Outland, given how different they are from Azeroth, but they both felt right. Tbh I think even the Shadowlands could've been like that if only the characters and the story didn't feel so distant from us.

The thing with the Emerald Dream expansion is that; it doesn't just have to be forests.
The Emerald Dream is supposed to be a version of Azeroth without mortal alterations, like buildings or roads. So it'd be like the Pangea-like Kalimdor supercontinent without any structures. But Azeroth has biomes other than temperate forests; Icy tundras, hot sandy deserts and marshes. Most expansions have areas that fall into these categories anyway, so it wouldn't even be that different. They'd just have to be creative about implementing settlements without any structures or architecture altering the environment.

After old world revamp, next step it should be to remove normal flying from the game. That stuff is outdated and ruinned wow for too long. Dragonriding should replace it instead but with more stuff to keep us on the earth. Flying should not be something to casually do with no stress. Like afk-ing in the air should never be a thing. These two things will make warcraft world feel epic once again.

Maybe while we were all away at the Dragon Isle one of the Big Bads took over and now we have to return and stop them. Or maybe the Big Bad completely destroys both The Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor and now we have to return to rebuild the two while will working towards fighting this Big Bad who did everything. I think it'd be a good way to revamp the two places! Make it so our efforts are what is slowly changing the world from what we have now, into this new Revamped Beautiful place!

I am over the Light vs Void storyline. Ever since Blizzard decided to make the Light morally ambiguous or even evil, in a way, I lost interest.
It's beyond lame that *everything* has to be evil in some way. It would have been totally fine if the Light was just good, even if the Void wasn't all bad.
I don't get why writers can never just be content with having something be good without caveats. And I'm also just sooooo tired of hearing and seeing people talk about Light vs Void. I used to love this direction, and then Blizzard fucked it, and then people couldn't shut up about it anymore either.

I want a world revamp! "Why though?" You might ask. Well, for me atleast, it has been VERY LONG since the world had a revamp. And since time also flows (lorewise) in the World of Warcraft too, it should also show a significant amount of change of scenery and probably also change of many things, like, factions, economy, restoration of certain areas like Gilneas, Lordaeron, the Exodar and so much and so forth.
What I think should be done by Blizzard (which they can do, since they can do some zones at a time while doing an expansion anyways DUH), is just revamping the world as in:
-Complete Revamp of old zones like Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Northrend. (Maybe Outlands, but idk about a broken floating piece of rocks and ruins)
-Partial Revamps of zones after the cataclysm like Pandaria (no Y'Shaarj activity since its heart was destroyed, being the end of the Sha manifestations), Draenor (probably lightforged & other forces fighting each other to take over Draenor and maybe invading Azeroth or just minding their damn business), The Broken Isles (some tweaks here and there, like having Suramar as a Capital City (please)).
-And just some very small changes to recent zones like BfA and Shadowlands zones. (Tho idk about shadowlands, since its just, idk, yucky to some extend? Its just the afterlife, nothing too big to change anyways)
Like, giving very old zones a big makeover, making it look pretty damn good and on point, aswell as giving it the feel that it either was upgraded, restored or even getting old, while newer zones should feel like somewhat the same with just small changes, that make sense and would also make it feel like it is moving forward, and not being in constant purgatory of time and space, stuck forever in an endless loop of repeat.
Also, the fear of old stuff like armor, weapons, pets, toys, mounts ect, then fret not, since they should just let us KEEP, the old raids and dungeons, in a pretty cool thing that I would call the MEMORY-LANE, which would be pretty damn neat, since it would act like a hub for old dungeons and raids for those who want to hunt those old content items!
But well, we know its all hopes and dreams for most people out there, but the reality might be alot more different than we thought. But if it would actually become true, then please, Blizzard (I know, this is Bellular here that I am commenting on his video on, which is not working at Blizzard, duh) consider making a collection room of old raids n dungeons atleast after revamping the world!

I feel if they do a Light vs Void expansion they NEED to put the time and effort in to story and characters before it, which currently they do seem to be doing.
But like you said, what of priests, paladins? Void elves?
More characters need more depth and consistency including our own character.
Would be the perfect time to bring order halls back, maybe paladins and priests are actually kicked out of their class order and set up a resistance, using the light as a weapon against the Light-worshippers etc.
What would happen to Turalyon and Alleria? Their son? Would the void elves be kicked from the alliance?
Perhaps Anduin returns and leads a revolution against Turalyon, boasting both the power of Light and Void at his disposal?
So much room for epic plot AND gameplay systems, but it needs to be earned over time.

Shadow and light concepts are very simple to me. Being ''too good'' makes you evil because it means you supressed the dark in you, and whatever you supress eventually becomes too hard to hold down. Knowing your shadow as well as your own hands is the real way to be truly good, because you do it very consciously, and very purposefully because you choose so.
You wouldn't perceive a day if nights didn't exist.
