Its videos like these that keep my interest in the game from fading completely. Havent played since shadowlands but I love the lore and story of the world so these videos help.
@@Soridormu I mean I don't think thats really a spoiler but it's removed.. I thought the one I was commenting on was dismissive of Dalarans importance so I reacted. Oh well, it's out now /shrug
O boy, I can't wait to do laps around Dalaran again in the next expansion. Really love this city, and that its going to be our hub again just means this is gonna be yet another great expansion!
So you're telling me that the Kirin Tor found out Daval Prestor was Deathwing, but then when Katrana Prestor showed up in Stormwind they didn't think it was suspicious? Surely they heard about her.
This was a nice vid, one thing that could be added is the source in quest lines for people who want to play through the stories. For example, the Divine Bell shenanigans with Garrosh after the Theramore bombing is all in the "Landfall" campaign in MoP.
Having studied in Dalaran since before the Burning Legion showed up, I've been well aquatinted with my city and my mentor, Khadgar. He's the best of us, to be sure. I've been away for a time, helping the dragons, but I've come home, opened the door, dusted the furniture, and put my feet up with a big tome borrowed from that old wizard's favorite library. I'm sure we'll soon be back to business as usual after the dragon's going home and we'll get to study thing Khadgar has discovered.
why didn't they make Dalaran the main city? It would have fitted perfectly, lorewise and for the aesthetics. Maybe they will in Midnight, because Silvermoon is reserved for the Horde
The role of factions for lore/PvP/possibly language is fine and well, though it is entirely antiquated for PvE/trade/etc. Even Everquest from the start had no barrier on those core aspects, and even with Common Tongue there were "language parties" to learn other languages ^^
This is a REALLY SMALL nitpick and I kinda feel like a fool for even typing this, but as someone who avoids the Human race in WoW it was slightly off-putting how you used the term "we" when referring to them. Anyways awesome vid appreciate all the effort you put in!
It’s such a bummer that the story from Warcraft 123 and vanilla is so much better than anything. They’ve ever done after it and we didn’t get to play much of that in the actual MMO.
Hopefully nothing bad happens ever to best city Dalaran. It has so many great and powerful foes locked away in its jail... Dont want them to all go free.
serioualy the mana bomb in cata and then mop trying to force the horde/alliance conflicts with garosh and trying to make the horde the "bad guys" was some of the worst writing we had in the game, then it got worse by having silvanas be the bad guy and hoping people would ignore the bad writing because "silvanas is hot so its ok to be evil" I hope we never have to deal with that bs again and blizzard have leaned their lesson
Yes, this. This is why I've always hated MoP despite everyone claiming it is "the best expansion ever". I've never been able to put it into words, but its exactly this. Instead of an interesting villain, they made an entire faction of players "be the bad guys" and there was nothing you could do about it. If you were Horde, you were the bad guys, no question. And then, when they realized they screwed up, they were like "Oh... uhh... since it was all Garrosh, and the player character *definitely didn't help him out at all, nope*, we'll make him the big bad evil guy." And just... no... it doesn't work like that at all. It didn't help that, despite the Horde having helped the Alliance so much over the years, the moment the Alliance encounters the Horde, they just jump in and start killing each other. No attempt being made, at all, to try and work together and figure out the problem. Nope, Daddy Varian just went "My child is there, kill everyone until you find him." Yes, the Horde was doing bad stuff, but the Alliance was doing no better. Alliance and Horde were fighting for the sake of "Alliance and Horde are fighting" despite literally half of the Horde being against Garrosh. They could have had such a neat plot where the Alliance and the Garrosh defectors worked together against Garrosh. But, instead, "Horde is all bad" despite leaders of races going "Hey, Garrosh is evil, man. We should do something about that." Vol'jin? Nope. Sylvanas? (Well, she was already evil, her being evil later made perfect sense) Nope. The Goblins? Nope (and don't even get me started on "Gallywix literally enslaved and murdered hundreds of his own kind, but Thrall decided "he's an okay leader.") Blood Elves? The very people that escaped the Alliance because they were literally killing their people? Nah, why would they do anything? It was so freaking stupid.
I feel like if you just slow down a little bit, then some of these story beats would have more time to sync in and it would have a deeper impact on the whole delivery. because some of these things that you’re just glancing over in a couple quick sentences are very deep and thought-provoking but by the time I’m wrapping my brain around a certain point you’ve already made two or three other points so I have to rewind the video and relisten over and over.
Damn could of warned of spoilers just went into this curious what you had to say about dalaran I didnt need to know it gets destroyed... Thanks I guess
dalaran is just rubish now, they will have to rebuild a new city from the ground. I think Blizz is preparing all the cities for housing, and this was another step.

Dalaran has so much great history. I'm hoping they have plans for it in the future xpacs! Right? Right?!
Maybe they will land it again? *wink*
What Dalaran?
No worries, you will still be able to visit Dalaran in Northrend. Nothing really goes away in WoW.
They will. It's easier than creating new assets
this will not age well
Boy i sure do enjoy studying magic in this purple city, i hope i will live here forever and nothing bad will happen
dalaran needed to use nordvpn so xalatath couldnt spy on them
"In case anything happens..." You cheeky little...
Listening to all this lore from this channel before a huge expansion has me feeling like I felt before legion!
The pre- event already gives me Legion vibes, from Dalaran, to farming mobs in nostalgic zones for gear and XP!
You're not just being coy, you're the whole goddamn fish pond
Whole ocean in a drop
bro ur channel saves me in work, love to listen to it! keep it up g
There will never something bad happens to Dalaran. Its a Eternal City
lol….
Man, you make my favourite WoW lore videos!
You do such a great job with these lore videos. Thank you, my dude.

After Dalaran survived Archimonde, I realized that this city is eternal and can weather any storm
I absolutely loved how you respected not giving anything away. Thank you.
Great video. 👍
Signing up
That time that Archimond built a sand castle...
I really appreciate this video (and the comments I read; thanks, people!) being spoiler free! 👍
"I'm sure Dalaran is fine"
"In case anything happens here is history of Dalaran" Good one :D
I don't know why Dalaran is suddenly a topic of interest. There's absolutely nothing coming down the pipeline.
Nothing.
Looked to me in beta like redacted but they didn't let us see the cutscene so idk
Very often I want to comment on a video but there is always that one guy who makes a perfect one, so I don't have to...

Dalaran is fine, Everything is fine!
Holy fuck what a time to be alive
That part where Khadgar jumps the city out of Deadwind pass in Legion gives Commander Adama vibes from the Battlestar Galactica remake.
I’m so pumped to have Dalaran as the central hub again for this expansion!
Perfect timing. This video ended right as Early Access went live. 😊
My high elf (void elf) mage Celestari was born in Dalaran, and is glad to be back home.
Same
Love these videos ❤

Can't wait to see Dalaran this expansion 🔥

I should have sold my mage order hall spot. Now its devalued!
Great breakdown!
Love the lore of Warcraft
"So in case something happens,"
Like you don't know! 😭
Oh no, I hope the void doesnt suddenly destroy Oribos, that would be soooooo terrible.
But in the purge of Dalaran it wasn't Jaina alone who was purging the Blood elves, she did it with the High elves ....
My poor city. She will be missed
We need a new, bigger Dalaran!
I just realized: people where hyped about Blizzard ”finally adressing that sword sticking out of azeroth” but did they really?
The role of factions for lore/PvP/possibly language is fine and well, though it is entirely antiquated for PvE/trade/etc. Even Everquest from the start had no barrier on those core aspects, and even with Common Tongue there were "language parties" to learn other languages ^^
My main takeaway from this is that when Dalaran is part of the main story: then its a good expansion
I would love for them to build new dalaran where the original was.
What about the Jailer? He was one the one controlling Arthas according to Shadowlands.
This is a REALLY SMALL nitpick and I kinda feel like a fool for even typing this, but as someone who avoids the Human race in WoW it was slightly off-putting how you used the term "we" when referring to them. Anyways awesome vid appreciate all the effort you put in!
Oh boy, such rich lore! I sure hope Blizzard doesn't destroy this city and kill off its leader for shock value!
It’s such a bummer that the story from Warcraft 123 and vanilla is so much better than anything. They’ve ever done after it and we didn’t get to play much of that in the actual MMO.
You forgot to mention that time a ragtag group of card playing criminals defeated the kirin tor and kargath and took over Dalaran in hearthstone
This didnt age well.....
What was that long cinematic of Archimonde playing in a sandppit from? Around 9:49.
16:37 SIDE EYE !!!!😬
I love how you just ignored all the retcons from shadowlands.
Noticed you didnt mention the plans to have Dalaran aid in the Seige of Orgimmar. (Darn you game limits)
Yes
Arthas annihilated the high elves and then they became blood elves actually
Annoying nitpick
Hopefully nothing bad happens ever to best city Dalaran. It has so many great and powerful foes locked away in its jail... Dont want them to all go free.
“This is fine”
"Party at Khadgar's place, BYOB!"
Watching this after it just blew up
Watching this after the fact... sadge!
What a weird timing for a Dalaran video.
I mean, we clearly are going to have a whole new expansion of lore to add to it's history, right?
Dalaran became the Khadgar of wow… Ned Stark, I meant Ned Stark. 👀
the highest of MEEPS!
Its funny that you can find escaped prisoners from the violet keep now that dalaran crashed

Where is Dalaran? Is she safe? Is she all right?
Why does it sound so better with 1.25 Speed?
Khadgar gubba get the same treatment as tirian and varian....
They treated Khadgar very poorely and I dont like it at all
Ah lagalaran from wrath
What a nice city you have there, would be a shame if…
there is no war in Dalaran grounds :)
As a Shadow Priest during Legion, all I have to say is
lmao oopsie.
And then it blowed up
I mean after the Gamescom Experience....😬
there is no war in ba sing se 😁😁😁
Why not just post it tomorrow when all the wink wink nod nod would be unnecessary?
Bald..! Bald! Bald!!!!

Azeroth is always in danger. Js
No, nothings gonna happen to dalaran. Nothing.
Not a fan of Dalaran’s new pink mist effect 😢
lol who’s gonna tell everyone
I know, that you know
A millenia. Got it 😂
Seems like the worst end boss yet from initial appearances.
they need a fake new banner on this one
Dalaran is the best city other than SW
Yeah Dalaran is fine
Neck minnit
It's crazy how Jaina ethnically cleansed an entire city of particular race based on what a small group of that race did.
And then Blizz plays her as a good guy.
