    8:30 NO, they have their ORIGINAL home again, it's Mount Hyjal. In it's storyline for Cata, we get it to almost 100%, get the original crew of guardians back, and the champions of azeroth are upgraded to being it's guardians with them. BUT we all found out together that, Firelands and Ragnaros were syphoning that healing and after we took it down, Hyjal is back to full, AND the champions of azeroth are it's protectors.
    Thrall's marriage was held there to consecrate it's return to full health. When the corrupted elemental gang of Deathwing gave their 'wedding' gift to azeroth by kidnapping Thrall. We save him, and the final patch of Cataclysm happens. They can return home -Mount Hyjal at ANY time, but a entire crew of 'lore' obviously haven't played the expansion content, or they'd know this.

    • @daximil
      @daximil Год назад +5

      What's happening now could still tie into all that.
      I've been playing the Sentinel Tree content on my Druid alt (The world tree that we grew in the Firelands) and something I've never noticed before is how all the fire elementals around the portal to the Sentinel Tree's grove are all shadow-flame elementals, just like what we will be dealing with in the new subterranean zone, we're about to get.
      And obviously, this all takes place at Mount Hyjal.

      it's a stone's throw away from the seat of the Horde capitol. Them orcs have been harrassing them since they set up Orgimmar, chipping and chopping away at the Ashenvale forest. Even if there is peace at the moment, war can always return like it has every other expansion. You could say it would advantageous to set up near by but, after everything they've been through I think they'd want to be somewhere far away and safe.
      Planting it by the green dragons, their greatest draconic ally RIGHT on their home turf is the best place to ensure safety. Anyone shows up to mess with that tree I doubt Ysera or Alexstrazsa would just sit by and let it happen.

    • @braules
      @braules Год назад +4

      To begin with. Nordrassil has only one point of acces through land which is Winterspring which would make it pretty impossible to attack given that you have to go up the entire mountain all the way up to the World Tree.
      Second, the Night Elves have a right to Kalimdor and to suggest they're better off in the isles because there's dragons in there is crazy. The dragons didn't aid during the Burning of Teldrassil, hell, they didn't even aid during the asault of the Legion besides the blues. The dragons do not have a faction affiliation and will remain that way. The true races connected with the Nelves are Mountain Giants, Dryads, and Grovekeepers, as shown in Warcraft III, NOT dragons.
      Third, it's in their very name "KAL"'dorei. They are to remain in KALimdor, and not leave because the Horde cannot stop destroying everything they touch.
      Again, the tree is completely healed, the remaining Well of the Eternity is in there too, there were even sprouts of Azerite during BfA and it also is linked with the dream. If they returned to Nordrassil from post-BFA up to now, I don't see why they should move out.

    Kaldorei had mages for 5000 years before the sundering, and broke the troll and aqir empires with it, securing their place on Azeroth.
    Malfurion and Tyrande are revolutionary leaders who outstayed their relevancy, banished and imprisoned the powerhouse of their culture and started the slow, 10000 year decline that we play in, today. I take one look at the Draenei, who embraced ALL magics, and think very not nice words about the two aforementioned yahoos, who would clearly prefer if the race went back to being [privileged] trolls. Honestly, I figured that both, the Horde losing Undercity/Ruins of Lordaeron, and the Alliance loosing the World Tree/Nordrassil, was really (besides storytelling) Blizzard simply removing the footholds so that the Horde gets all of Kalimdor, and the Alliance bet all of Eastern Kingdoms.

    So, as a night elf main, I don't see a world tree in the dragon isles as an end to night elf culture. In fact, I see it as the opposite.
    The night elves know how to traverse the dream.
    There is a dreamway portal connected to the new trees location. And there are portals all over Azeroth.
    I can easily see the night elves using the new tree as a home through witch they expand via the dreamways to settle all throughout Azeroth. Mobilising armies across the globe via the dream. Let the kultirans have their ships. The horde their airships. The night elves can strike from anywhere, covering miles in mere moments.

Just like M+ and raiding isn't designed to suit the community, but to please Ion, the story is being written for the writers, not the community, and more so than the obvious lack of content, that's really the most scary thing about WoW's "new direction".

    I just hope that night elves get something for their own here, and not as a tool for the Alliance or Horde. I think out of all the bad prior, what makes it so frustrating is that the devs basically went "Which culture can we sacrifice for the Sylvanas/Anduin storyline" and from that perspective, whoever held Darnassus might even have been the best choice. But the way it was done; nelves have some weaknesses such as their traditionalism but their biggest asset is their incredible ability at knowing the land and intelligence gathering. And to have them be beaten casually in their strongest field made so little sense.
    I think if they make it a slow burn to rebuild, you could do it in the Dragon isles unless they forget about them existing as soon as the exp is over. But I also agree that modern Kalimdor, the night elves were its soul. To lose that seems like a sad path to take, and it just removes a dynamic. Oh, also, in regards to the primalists... I'm keen to see, it could be a simple plot for Iridikron to wish the whole Titanic division undone from Dragons through altering the past, if he were altruistic, or it could be a more selfish goal... he gives more of a vibe as a team player to me still, though.

    As someone who has loved Night Elves since I started in Wrath, and a longtime RPer...I think this is the coolest option possible. What's more 'Kalimdor' than the Dragon Isles? The place most like what the original pangea Kalimdor was like? What's better than the most beautiful, lush place on Azeroth? The place closest to the Dream? The only issue I see is what you mentioned about Kalimdor being Horde controlled...but there's no more war, so who cares? We're all buds now. No saying the Night Elves haven't already moved back into the forests around Teldrassil's ruins - why wouldn't they? Wouldn't they still live in their ancestral lands, that way?

But as a player of factions who have basically been forgotten ill take this Nelf treatment anyday. Front and center of many xpacs basically taking the lime light instead of humans.
      OR you know you can be like Belves and basically been forgotten for 10 years, lose all your windrunners and royalty. Be introduced into WoW basically at the position Nelfs are now, lose are core faction to the alliance and finally when LEGION comes around a type of energy that you people know instead of getting the lime light with nelves who had a new zone Valsharah you get relegated to 3rd place behind newer cooler looking NIGHT ELVES im mean BORNE who basically are a copy and paste of your story but cooler.

The Draenei have already flown away from their crash site with the Exodar and Theramore is destroyed, so there is no Alliance presence in Kalimdor. See, I want Hyjal to be the main capital of the Elves. Canonically, the place has been purged of the Firelands taint since the destruction of Rag and the canonical years of time that have passed. This set up would allow for political in-fighting since you would have two parts of the Night Elf society split between which to make the formal capital. Some would want the safety and solace of a tree in the Dragon Isles, one that is literally off limits to everyone but those the Green Dragons and Alexstraza herself allow formally on the Isles. Yes, right now that is everyone flying a horde or alliance flag, but that doesn't have to be forever. And then you would have the purists, who push back against everyone having their fingers in the Hyjal pie after all these years. After the burning of Teldrissil, they have the right to take back what is rightfully theirs. Also, and I may be mistaken, weren't there already hints that quite a few Night Elves moved to Hyjal with some of their Gilnean allies and began to harass and harangue the Earthen Ring remnants still there?
    It would allow for good storytelling opportunities, and I can actually see this current Blizz story team doing this storyline, whereas I couldn't see this being done by the hamstrung Shadowlands team.

Tying into the next expansion. So, I'm glad this video touches up on that. Help them actually GROW and EXPAND rather than just fighting and struggling at all times.
